Hi SSC, Thanks for the question. I do not have dB measurements of sound level but I can say this and other Jura machines tend to be quieter than those from other manufacturers. Marc
Hi JJ, Depends on how tall. Cup clearance under the spouts is 6". Here's a link to specifications for the X8: www.wholelattelove.com/products/jura-x8-platinum-espresso-machine#product-specs Marc
Hi Steven, Interesting question! Well, you can do a portion of milk out of the X8 and it's programmable with durations of the milk and milk froth - 2 types. The milk portion does have a very slight texture. I have not tried, but suppose you could do a portion of milk into a frothing pitcher and maybe get a mix of the 2 milk types that work for pouring art. It might require some mixing to get a more uniform texture capable of art. I'll challenge our staff baristas and see if they can. Marc
Hello. I have had a Saeco Royal Coffee Bar for he past 13years and I absolutely love this machine. However, she is on her last leg 😢. I have been researching fully automatic machines on and off over the past year and came across the Jura X8. I am new here and I hate to ask a question that maybe you have answered before but what is your favorite machine that would run around 4000 or less that is comparable to my old Saeco? Thank you in advance for your help.
Hi lisa, Wow very nice run for that Saeco! That and a similar Gaggia machine were known as being near indestructible. The Z10 is currently the most popular Jura machine at the top end of your price range: www.wholelattelove.com/products/jura-z10-super-automatic-espresso-machine-in-diamond-white It has a very unique cold brew feature. If you like cold brew, there's no other machine that does anything close. If you don't need the cold brew I'd also have a look at the Gaggia Accademia. It's what I've been using daily in the studio for the last 18 months. I can choose just about any machine available in US for that duty and I have yet to want to replace. It does not have the capacity of the Z10 but makes the best espresso I've had from automatic machines. I don't do a lot of milk drinks but I do prefer the Accademia's carafe system to pickup tubes used by Jura machines. Check out the Accademia here: www.wholelattelove.com/products/gaggia-accademia-espresso-machine Videos available at the links above for both machines. Hope that helps! Marc
Kathy Wyatt Thanks for the comment! I have a Micro 90 at home right now. Does well switching between espresso and coffee brewing. Sleek design and compact. Marc
Hi, how is the quality of black coffee compared to machines like the z10 or z8. Is the X8 primarily for more output per day or is it also a noticable step up in quality? Milk quality seems to be similar but double the output on the x8, which wouldn t be that important as a home machine.

@@zk7439 would you suggest the X8 for commercial use? I'm starting up a coffee trailer and expecting to see around 100 people each 5 hour sitting. Curious if this would have the speed to handle it. I'm leaning towards the GIGA 6 but it's not a "commercial" machine. I'm not convinced that label means anything yet.
Does the milk and espresso come out of the same spouts? For instance, if someone is allergic to all dairy, can't even have a drop, could they use this after someone makes a latte safely?
Hi Steven, Thanks for the comment! Oracle touch is a very nice machine - it automates some of the manual processes of semi-automatic espresso. The Oracle is more work and not as "clean" as this machine but in the right hands is very capable. Marc

Hi NN, Thanks for the question. The Jura X8 has one of the best milk frothing systems available in automatic coffee machines. It has the ability to produce 2 different froth densities in the same drink and each are programmable for amount and temperature. Milk temperature is programmable in 10 steps - that's more than most any other machine available. As far as milk temperature... All automatic machines with integrated frothing produce a milk temp in the sweet zone of 125-145F (51.5-63C). It's in that temperature range where milk gains the most apparent sweetness from heating and that's the temp well trained baristas use. Marc
Hi, Thanks for the question. Grams per shot are adjustable 10-16. Brew temp is stable. The X8 uses Jura's PEP: Pulse Extraction Process. It slows down the extraction for more stable and hotter brew temps. Marc

Hi Johnny, Thanks for the question. When doing espresso on any super-auto machine I almost always use the maximum coffee dose, highest temperature setting and finest grind setting on the machine. Grind setting is probably the most important variable followed by coffee dose. Hope that helps! Marc
