We should be more proud of this person. I am myself from Galanta and there is nothing except the statue and a street named after him. But he was great and I would like to listen to this music in our town sometime.

Kodály része a világ zenei életének (magam voltam tanúja annak, hogy Franciaországba menet és jövet kétszer hallhattam az autó rádiójából a Háry szvitet, egyszer a luxemburgi rádióból és a bajor BR4 Klassikból. Máskülönben meg nem kell úgy túlspilázni Kodály kapcsán a magyarkodást,. mert ennyi erővel egy norvég is lehetne büszke Griegre, egy finn Sibeliusra, vagy egy román Enescura, vagy egy horvát Gotovacra, merthogy azok igazi norvég, finn, román , vagy horvát zenét alkottak. Nem, kisnyuszi! Tudomásul kell venni, hogy a zene nemzetközi, ahogy azt valamikor maestro Kodály megmondta. Egyébiránt csodálkozom, hogy nemzethy érzései közepette nem háborodott fel azon, hogy egy nemzetidegen zenekar egy pláne nemzetidegen karmester vezényletével hogyan merte a repertoárjába felvenni a Galántai táncokat.

Jurowski interpretation is much more realistic and very probably what Kodaly had in mind but the Baremboim's is so beautiful! Could be considered another different piece of music?

This is beautiful music. We shoud appreciate that Kodaly gain inspiration from Gypsy songs from Galanta region which is in Slovakia ,not in Hungaria.

I think you may be thinking of his Hary Janos which does have the cimbalom.
