I really enjoy you sharing your experiences! A also really like 600's, so am glad I found your Excellent channel! I also admire your shop and your taste in cars. I do repairs outside, LOL. This week it's -30 for at least a week now, so when spring comes, I'm sure I'll be reviewing all your videos and asking questions! I do take notes now from where you purchase your parts, etc! I also have a 1992 SEL600 that I bought that has acceleration of a 4 cyl. Lol. I hope I can get to some experimenting this summer. Again, I really enjoy your videos, your great shop set up, and awesome sharing as an ordinary, but passionate person!
Hey Merv thanks for the kind comments and for watching!! I used to work on cars outside when I lived up north but never 30 below! Now I feel bad complaining about working in the cave when it's 40°F here. Truth is sometimes I have a little propane fire pit going in there! Where are you located? I hope you get that 92 SEL600 going the way you like it. Those are incredible cars. Maybe the best modern platform Mercedes ever did!!
@@cassidycarcave2781 Yes, agree, such luxury! The 92 I bought from a scrap yard, right time, right day! They bought it from an impound auction. I only have about $1200 into it ! Story was it was customized, then imported from Japan. Because customized, VIN plate was altered, or moved? Is the story? So wasn't able to register in Canada. So it was parked here and there. Went through a couple owners. Then parked on the street, then impounded. I was able to find last owner, a truck driver who also told me that story. So he was busy and away and it wasn't a big priority to him anymore once it got impounded. Then parts place probably bought it for scrap price, then I became the lucky one! Lol. My thoughts are to get it running well, then replace a few missing things people stole off it, then try even a couple different places that do inspections. I believe I can get it done! Fingers crossed and a little time! I'm in Central Alberta, Canada. Have a great day!
@@TheMervK That's an incredible story on the 92! You should start a UA-cam channel :-) these cars can create quite a bit of content! We spent a Christmas and New Year's in Banff a few years ago. It was maybe the most beautiful place I've been on Earth you are very fortunate to live there. For southerners it was a shock because it never got above zero C but we braved the elements and went dog sledding, out for a sleigh ride and snowshoeing. Keep me updated on the progress and thanks for watching my channel!
Great review of the s600. Those w220 are cheap due to depreciation and plague with problems due to all of the technology that went in. They are awesome when everything is working. I’m planning on getting the v12 variant soon. I have a 1997 W140 S600 and I have owned it for the last 3 years. I did all of the preventative maintenance and it’s been dependable ever since. Looking forward to your future updates on the s600 my friend.
Thanks Juan!! I love the Mercedes V12's...I do believe the W140 chassis was there best car in the part 30 years. There is so much information out there on the common faults of these cars that we can turn a few wrenches and get to enjoy these cars at a fraction of their cost. Thanks for watching!! I want to do a livestream Cars and Coffee inside the warehouse when I get to 1,000 subs...would be great to have you and your S600 come if your anywhere near Nashville!!
@@cassidycarcave2781 thanks for the invite. I’m located in San Francisco Ca. If i ever do a cross country drive, I’ll definitely stop by in Nashville. I have an affinity for the v12 as well. If they are cheap and in good condition. Why not? “One can never have enough V12”. 😂. Take care.
this video made me laugh, i actually Sold my Lexus LS430 a few weeks back and picked myself up an 05 S600! shes white, 104k miles. has the separated executive massaging heated A/C seats in the back, radar cruise and amg sport package. Im in love with it. Car has had the COILS rebuilt a month ago, new spark plugs and valve cover gaskets. only issue with is it makes like a loud power steering type noise. i suspect its the Hydro pump but my guess is a good as anyone's. love the car and congrats.
That is an awesome ride Yousef!! I compare the S600 a little to the LS430 in the new video on the S600. They are both crazy quiet and smooth - the Lexus just can't touch the V12 power and the Mercedes interior. LOVE the executive seats in the back of yours - I'm jealous!! Thanks for watching.
Hey Mason thanks for watching and commenting! It's funny how many of us have the same vehicles!! I swear there is a checklist for the car gods they use to make us all buy the same cars at one time or another. My Grand Wagoneer is about to get fuel injection and I filmed some more repairs on the S600 today so more good stuff to come...Thx!
Would you be able to do a DIY video on an oil change for the M120 SL600? Or at least how to remove the left side air filter and accessing the oil filter below it?
Rich you were a guiding light and inspired me to buy my first benz and fix it myself. I started my own UA-cam in memory of your spirit. May the good Lord bless your soul. You are missed every day. May your family be blessed and your children and your children's children who have these videos to watch and have pride in your legacy.. 🙏🏻 youtube.com/@CL500MBZ
As always a fantastic video and a great car, i can't wait to see it all fixed up, detailed and running well .
Thanks Roxy!! Should be a sweet car when it's done. I appreciate your support:-)
Congratulations on the new toy Rich👍🏻
Thx!! It's a torque monster... hopefully!!

@Cassidy Car Cave Have you sold these wheels yet?
They were cracked in multiple places beyond repair:-( I trashed them and went with some monoblocks I already had...thx for watching and commenting!!!
@@cassidycarcave2781 No worries! I live near you, I have two CL55s. One could be a potential project car for your channel if you're interested
Is that the new lift??

@@cassidycarcave2781 Oh yeah!!!

Yep it was only sitting for a few months.
