World Refugee Week Meath 2024

Meath Partnership’s SICAP team and Meath Volunteer Centre collaborated to provide 3 days of events to celebrate World Refugee Week Meath 2024. On Monday the 17th of June we hosted Voices of Hope in the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells, and then a screening of the cartoon Puffin Rock in Ukrainian in SVP Theatre Kells. On Tuesday 18th, we hosted an event called Taste the Harmony, Home in Every Bite and on Wednesday 20th we had a Diverse Community Showcase. These events were all to raise awareness about the challenges faced by people seeking protection worldwide and celebrate their resilience, strength, and contributions to our communities. These initiatives promoted understanding, inclusion, and unity. Let’s stand in solidarity with people seeking protection worldwide. Let's show that County Meath is a place of compassion, acceptance, and a place where new communities can call "Our Home, our new Home, Meath!"
