Hi Dreka, I’m a female cattle farmer… I’ve prepared my garden area this pass Spring….in hopes to plant both my fruit trees and vegetables next Spring…
However… I would plow the areas of your walkway in the garden and put down card board , then wood chips over that… this will keep the weeds out… also an organic way of doing it!
P.S. I wasn’t aware of your others businesses and others may not either… I would love for you to bring it over to your UA-cam channel… so we can learn more and support…#happyfarming

From what I've read, it usually takes three to four years for grapes vines to produce good fruit because as the vines get older they start to store sugar and nutrients, they are most likely bitter because the vines are not aged enough

It’s not easy and We all share the same ups and downs in this field. I love how you have developed your place and I wish I could help but I have my own farm to manage here in Texas and I have my own channel to spread the knowledge I have. Youre a goddess in the garden!! Youve got quite a farm & its a big inspiration of mine. I follow lots of different homesteads and home growers on here. Ive seen a lot of people say they like to use wood chips in the garden! As they break down too theyll add nutrients into your land. But theyll help keep all those weeds at bay! One of the couples i followed did a test on chipped garden walk way and non chipped garden walk way. She said she had to weed maybe 2 times that whole year on the chipped side where as the other she was having to do every week! I think stepping stoned or patio stones would be a nice touch in the walk way as well. I want to say they used Cedar wood chips.

My only problem with using wood chips as mulch, is that I have more problems with pests. Not that the mulch is infested or anything, it’s wonderful besides that. But I noticed that before and after cutting mulch out, I had no pests. Like weird particular pests too. Not typical spider mites or aphids.

I have the greatest GREEN THUMB…I surprise myself every grow season…I’ve grown everything from calla lillies to cannabis…ALL ORGANIC …I still consider myself a stater grower, but I would LOVE to help on your farm…you have EVERYTHING!! I could learn SO MUCH🙏🏾

You can research this but,when you grow the same crop year after year it tends to destroy soil, my guess for you would be incorporate fresh dirt and cow manure and mix it in with your sand and soil. Dirt is about 5$ to 15$ a ton plus delivery. My garden is about 30×12 and I bought potting soil mix and then when to a local farm and got a ton of cow manure and just started to blend it into my soil. I like to use backing soda & Epson salt in
my garden as well. Earth worm castings too.

Dreka I don't know if your going to read this comment, I suggest that you use mulch in your garden area to cover over the weeds that are growing in the sand.

This is so beautiful! Back in 2013 i had a baby and we were all about everything pure and natural and healthy! It was amazing! I made everything myself. I made hair and body care, cleaners, i even made my own makeup!!! I started a garden and me and my lil girl were out there in the garden and she was always in her birthday suit lmao. N at first i was "following directions" and planting things a certain way and she was just goin ham n planting stuff wherever n however she felt n everything she planted grew like crazy and all my stuff barely grew! So its good thing sometimes to just throw your seeds out with love where u feel thy shud be rather than where ur told thy go. I hope to be doin what your doin soon. If u ever want to open a dispensery here in MT hit me up 😁 Im a native frm tribe here and we even have our own bank. Anyways Im sending positive energy to you and yours ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Hey baby girl when you dig your potatoes or onions out of the ground do not wash the dirt off of them because that's is what preserves your onions and potatoes and keep them from rotten you wash them and then they start the rotten process Plus plants don't like to grow and wood chips or sawdust wood chips and sawdust takes all the nitrogen out the ground it keeps your plants from eating love you baby girl Uncle Larry

One thing I learned a long time ago, is that life will always find a way. Nothing is ever permanent. Having a farm / garden is hard work to maintain. What you have done looks good, and producing your own food is the best, good job on that.
