With a new-found focus on achieving class leading fuel efficiency, Mazda proves, with their new SkyActiv powered MAZDA3, "you can have your cake and eat it too." Owners who get past the grinning front-end might just find themselves sporting a grin of their own from behind the wheel.
i love my mazda 3. i actually love this body style too, and i wish they made the newer ones to still look like this one.
same , i’m looking for a 3 now and i HATE the new design
I just picked up a 2013 Mazda 3 I touring this weekend and so far, I'm loving it. The ride is relatively comfortable, the power, though not a racecar, is surprisingly quick, and it's fuel efficient.
Lol I remember writing this. And I just traded her in two weeks ago for a 2015 Mazda 3 I grand touring...So basically the same trim as this video but in a 3rd gen lol
nice. mazda for life
I’m gonna get a manual hope I like it
@@fpaltenhoff86 So, do you recommend the 2013 still?
Cody Polar absolutely, but if your looking for it for reliability and fuel economy, the skyactiv engine is the way to go. The only two things are the auto transmission is a sealed unit and the engine is direct injected, so you’ll have to have the valves cleaned every so often, and use injector cleaner every couple fill ups, but it was one of the best cars I ever owned. Never gave me any issues whatsoever and drove it to 135k miles
Bought a 2013 skyactiv hatch automatic transmission a few months ago and I absolutely love it. It was fun to drive as is, but with the addition of a Corksport exhaust and intake, as well as an orange virus tune, this car puts a smile on my face constantly. Great car and great community of owners.
When does the car review start all I heard was complaining
Sneaker Enthusiast so when you review something it always has to be good? I didn't know that. I guess he should just lie about everything right?
OMG! Before i read this comment, i was thinking the same thing. I never heard him complain so much!
I own a 2013 Mazda 3 GT hatchback, and I had to laugh when he was complaining about how he didn't like the feel of the steering wheel.
Just so you know, in 2015 in Australia and New Zealand, Mazda (and Mazda 3s) are outselling Toyota by a significant margin. They are very popular now (and MUCH better looking than the Civic or Corolla).
if need a back up camera in a small like this you shouldn't have your drivers license
U need backup camera to see kids who less than 3m from your car. Can’t see them from inside.
We love our 2012 Mazda 3 hatchback. Little fact... the skyactiv 6 speed automatic actually as a single clutch in it! That's why it shifts so crisply in manual mode, this trans is a major upgrade and different feeling than standard automatics with only a torque converter. This trans has a clutch and a torque converter for the best of both worlds. The engine is amazingly efficient, and they keep lightness in mind with the drivetrain and body. Thats how it achieves mid 30's mpg average. We own the 5 door hatch with the white and black cloth interior, moon roof and Bose option, love it!
As a Mazda owner I would say this is the most accurate review on this car, excellent job my M3 does 420 miles to a tank of gas half of those are driven on heavy traffic on the DC metro area
Thanks for the suggestion, we will definitely take it into consideration :)
I have been driving for 45 years and never once had trouble parallel parking or changing lanes or backing up. Forget all the tech crap and expense and use that thing inside your head called a brain . Pretty soon you'll need a tech device to take a shit .
one thing i will never try is reverse parking. no matter how many times I've given it a shot, I can't do it without having to get out of the car 3 to 4 times just to check where its headed!
orangedac did you ever take a driving class..I could teach you to back in any space in 2 minutes ...
orangedac literally the same as how you park normally, the only difference is the fact that everything is reversed
Well said Bro.
ok boomer.
I have been missing your reviews Sofyan, good to see you back man!
I love your reviews. Don't listen to everyone else. I like them because you get to the point and go over what people are going to want to know about their future everyday car.
It's suppose to be a critical review, but he is smashing things that don't deserve to be smashed. Smaller wheels = better mpg city driving and quicker pulls off a full stop. Lots of other things he criticized seems like he is looking for things to knock.
I really liked the way you reviewed this car. It was long, but always informative. I really liked the way you asked question that I didn't even think of. These questions helps me start thinking about what I really want and need in a new car. Thanks!
I love ur reviews , its just getting better and better
There are vents for the back seat! How can you miss them!
I have to say after spending quite some time in these I have grown to really like the 2nd gen Mazda3. Quality is good, reliability is good and it's not boring to look at and drive. For me it would be a civic, 3, or a focus but in terms of reliability 3 or civic. I just can't stand the staleness and complete dated mess that is the 13 Jetta and corolla. Good review as usual
bought a 2013 in red....love it...feels very quick in a 6 speed and getting 46 mpg and 570 miles per tank....i love this car...with that mpg...its fun and pays for itself
We have no problem with the plastic in the interior, we just prefer touch points like arm rest pads to be soft padded. We do recall sitting in a 2011 Mazda3 and the armrests were leather stitched. As for the back up camera, you could look at the fact that every 2013 Civic comes standard with one. The Focus Titanium includes it as well. We image the next generation mazda3 will rectify our concerns.
Happiest car alive.
+Totoro haha
6 years later and this joke still funny
man you give an In-depth review which really help to decide while buying in this high competitive Car World... looking forward to see the New Mazda 6
2theRedlineLLC keep up your reviews man. your good.
it really does show that the quality of your videos has gone up leaps and bounds in the last few months, but the total volume has significantly decreased. i think you guys should do more of the low production used car reviews in addition to these really well done ones. just my two cents. otherwise, keep ip the good work!
as a mazda 3 owner i have to say i LOVE this car. one of the best handling cars in the class
I think the grin isn't that annoying. Does it like the mclaren p1
I traded my 13' Focus for my 13' Mazda3, its the best car I've owned.
Simon Liu with the introduction of skyactiv they really dont share a lot of parts at all.
Yeah the Mazda's last forever and and so reliable... Its becoming the new civic
Focus >>Mazda
Josef Griveas That’s false.
Any update on this 5 years on? I'm thinking of getting one
Excellent review!
Actually, the Honda Civic comes standard with a back-up camera on every model while the Focus Titanium has it as well. We just figured with all these tech toys the Mazda should have it as well. Obviously, Mazda realized that which is why the 2014 model includes it now.
Would you Recommend the manual transmission a over the auto transmission and which is realible
Awesome review
Lol did he just complain about softness of the leather wrapped wheel?
'The interior is fine, but I am disappointed at the lack of a built in wine cooler.'
Would you recommend this as a first car?
Where can I get these headlights
blind spot is standard option or how much does it cost to add to car cost
Been renting one... I have a couple gripes: it feels heavier than it should and its dashboard I feel is bloated in that its width is far larger than necessary, but I've noticed as a Valet that most new cars are like that now... The last thing is that I'm 5' 7" and the steering wheel won't come down low enough. I can't rest my arms on my thighs/armrests and have my hand on the bottom of the wheel. So I have to always have my arms up... otherwise powertrain wise and looks wise I like it
When i was buying my new car i was looking at 2013 mazda 3 or 13 ford focus. Honestly, it all boils down to what your looking for. If your looking for tech, and fuel saving, and comfort go with focus. If you dont care as much for tech and more driving feel, and handling, mazda all the way. I love my 13 mz3 sport hatch. not to mention, its always so happy to see me when i look at in the front lol
Would you buy this as a hatchback grand touring with the manual
Pretty good review. I couldn't care less about a backup camera though. I had one and never looked at it and with sun glare it's a waste of time. Love the M3 but needs some sound deadening in the right places. I have no other complaints. The car is a pleasure to drive and comfortable and runs forever.
Drove one as a rental loved it
Was at the dealer, wondering which would be better? Mazda 3 2013 new? or Mazda 6 2010 used
Great review! 2014 Mazda 6 please!
Came to post THIS... leaving satisfied
i can guarrantee if you are interested in the mazda 3 theres not one thing i wouldnt change they're very fun, very responsive cars they love the road and they're 100% a blast to drive you would not be disappointed, these guys are car critics
Hey! You guys should review the 2013 corolla le or a special edition they're a slight improvement from the reg corolla bust still 4 speed and no armrest in back
i just realised you passes my neighborhood in the review. i could tell where you are the whole time
The Kia Rio also has a back up camera. I also believe the PriusV also has it as well.....
you guys are lucky to get the nav / HID / AFS and BSM on the GS Skyactive. Up here in Canada its only available on the GT 2.5L.
Bought M3 1 2012 1.5 months ago. Got it with 6k discount 2012 clearance sale. Really happy with it. Definitely more fun to drive than Civic, Focus, Corrolla with exception of Jetta probably.
hey sofyan, I was wondering if you could do a test drive and review on a 03-08 mazda 6 4cyl model. if you can that would be awesome, thanks
This era 3 (hatchback) or same era Fit? Both in manual transmission.
I just looked at a 2013 Mazda 3 I sport stick shift and it is a 5 speed. I Saw a video on the automatic and they said it was a 5 speed.
The whole nicer compact car trend was really started by Mazda back to 2004. Glad that u pointed that out. Without the 1st Gen mazda3, we wouldn't have got all these nice equipped Focus, elentra, forte or civic.
Good fair review, but you seemed to miss a feature that attracted me to consider this car, which is the body build. No welds, or fewer welds. Is this a good thing or not? The sales people push it, but that's what I depend on a reviewer to tell me.
where!?
I just bought a CPO 2013 Mazda3 2.5 s Grand Touring, same color & equipped as the one tested "snowflake white". This car is the perfect daily driver, so I can leave my gas guzzling Wrangler Unlimited at home. The seats are comfortable, the engine doesn't act like a 4cyl, as it doesn't have the whiney thrashy sound normally expected. Trans shifts smooth and while Im still on the first tank of gas from delivery, I'm averaging about 30mpg. I have no gripes about the dash except that the steering wheel buttons are lit red while everything else is white or light blue. I'd recommend the car over a Civic/Corolla of the same year.
i am lookin for that car. still good?
Yup, still have it. As of today 3/12/2017 mine has only 15300 miles. Love the heated seats during winter, they will almost toast your ass if you set it at level 5. I would replace the oem Yokohamas with something else because they are a little loud for my liking, but then again they are still the original tires mine came with.
Great review.
That's one nice car.
@ 2theRedlineLLC
Is this A/T or M/T?
Does anyone know the difference between the I and S trims for this generation? Seems like the s sport has more features than the I sport
The i is for the 2.0L engine and the S is for the 2.5L engine
Love the car and review :)
If I were you, I'd wait for the 2014 Mazda 3 to come out in a few more months. I personally like the redesign. But, I do have a 2013 Mazda 3 though and I'm happy with it :)
Any plans to review the Mazdaspeed3?
will u do a review on the new bmw 3 series?
Can u do a review on the new mazda 6 (manual)
i have a 2012 m3 hatchbach, to me its the best car in its class. i also love the interior.
Why you nver mention the chevy cruze?
For the Honda Civic....the Canadian version does not have the back-up camera as standard, I really wonder if it is standard on ALL models of the Civic.
Dude, you are comparing the Focus Titanium, which would make it a model up....anyway, so the lower trim of Focus doesn't have it, does it?
How about the Corolla? How about the Dart?
now u have driven the Mazda 3 as well. so which car in your opinion is the Most powerful, best handling and comfortable and most luxurious car in the segment, also the car should have a Manual option? I think except for space the Focus wins hands down, u told the perfect defects of Mazda, its lightweight and has almost no cabin insulation, cheap feeling plastics and i f u observe closely u will get the interior design a copy of Volkswagen and BMW mixed 2gather, and the ride quality STIFF
Do a review of the Cruze
The Mazda 3 has been around since 1978 believe it or not.
the 323 right?
+Boristos Jaxon yup
I thought the Mazda 3 was the latest iteration of the Protege.
Am I wrong?
The only things I wish it had are:
1) Blind spot indicator
2) Automatic braking (to avoid rear ending someone)
3) A GPS system
4) Back up sensors
I have always seemed to have trouble shifting my 2013 into 6th gear.
I almost have it mastered but have still considered taking it in for service before my powertrain warranty runs out.
Quite possibly the car I will drive into my retirement when I next go shopping in 10 years.
That's a while off, so I have plenty of time to research.
That being said, including my current car, my last 3 cars have been Mazdas. The other two were Proteges.
Very few problems or unexpected repairs encountered.
I believe it...
Nice Review Of 2013 Mazda Mazda3 SkyActiv. 😀
Really like this car. Probably going to be my next car
We are referring to the 2013 models...
Redline Reviews i have a 2013 skyact , was wondering why mine didn't come with the radio, sunroof, and leather seats??
Can we get a genesis coupe review?
For such a small car not sure why there is a need for a back up camera. I do appreciate it on my Toyota Tacoma though!
i was looking at mazda 3I 2.0L didnt see many extras they want 9,000 . makes rear noise over bumps not sure what it is
Yeah, don't get that one then. If two not supposed to be making noises going over bumps
I feel like he dissed this car's interior a little too hard when this car's interior is still one of the best in class. Only thing that really beats it would be the focus IMO.
I never test drove the 3, Im going to get the 6 which has a nice interior. I hope the 3 next gen is a lot nicer.
I like the old review style
wait for the 2014 model. it starts shipping to dealerships in October. Its going to look amazing with Mazda's new design langauge :)
are u not at jerry's anymore?
Is there anything good about the car? Watching these videos would quite easily deter someone from purchasing this vehicle, due to the fact that this particular critic finds so many flaws.
thanks bro, put a put a positive spin on it
Like Simon Liu said, I okay loud music. Lol.
Simon Liu thanks man i need to do the same
+Simon Liu its a poor mans sports car. treat it as such
2013's Civics come with blue tooth an a back up camera as standard equipment... all of them... LX , EX, EX-L an Touring models
dash only says 36 mpg but divide 570 miles by 12 gallons and its actually 47.5....did i mention the 6 speed manual is fast....and handles like a sports car
I actually really want one of these in red.
I like the new intro lol
I think you should do a Volkswagen Phaeton
IMO I believe the new sentra has the best in class interior now, and the also new civic not close behind. But yes, the Mazda3 still has a relatively nice interior still as well
I would. I actually have it and I love it as my first car! It's perfect if you mostly drive yourself to school or work. It's comfortable and roomie. And great on gas!
i still like the Mazda 3, but i can't wait for the remodel design of Mazda3
Love this car.
u r an ecellent reviewer sir
are u still going to review used cars?
im getting this car here in a few months
i love mazda
my three biggest complains about my 2013 mazda3 are the steering wheel as u say, and the way they place the door panel. It is horrible!!!! why they couldn't make the door handle wider so u can at least put ur hand through!!!! and the back sit is really uncomfortable, but other than that it's a great car!!!!
I just love Mazda :)
2013 Honda civics have back up cameras FYI
I'd love to have a Mazda 3 GT with that electric blue color. Reliable, fun and not chocked full of useless tech that breaks.
Is this a reliable car? He was bashing anything he could think of...
Tony m Yes it is like a civic
Finallyyyyyy a ne videoooo... What is happening ?
