I find it interesting , that you call the house in the centre "Station Lodge" . I used to live in the vicinity ( at Finchcocks ) during the 1970-ies and at that time , it was called "Hope Mill" . The mill-wheel was still functioning and so was the connecting shaft into the building . I was friendly with the young couple living there and they intented to use the wheel to generate their own electricity . However , the local Electricity Board wouldn`t have it , insisting on their monopoly position as sole suppliers of electricity in the area . On the opposite side of the road , on the site of the former Station building , stood a house , aptly named "Haltwhistle" . The owners were using the former platform lamps ( of distinct shape , like an upside down pyramid ) as garden lights and had marked the former position of the platforms with two rows of flagstone .
An absolutely superb video about vandalism.
