Their blend is better than so many of the adult choirs I've seen. Their vowels are BEAUTIFULLY in sync, and the flaws, if any, are small and few. I'm very impressed.
seinesalz it's...definitely not that great. Their lower tones are almost non-existent, I feel like I'm only hearing the top half of the song. The rich bass in this song is what makes it so rounded and full. The chorus is a little better when they get around to it, but still.
Sage Elison yeah, you're right. Rereading my comment was definitely too harsh lol, also what I just realized too is that probably the camera is making them sound way worse than they probably actually do within that venue, recording devices always distort it for the worse :(
This choir has one of the best alto sections I've ever heard. This was definitely the best choir I've heard sing this song. One of my favorite songs- not sung by choir- but sounds gorgeous like this as well!
There's other vocal repertoire composed for way more parts with far more complex harmonies than this song. Plenty of vocal ensembles pull them off thanks to classical training.
I agree that plenty of covers DO use Autotune or similar, but I'd like to point out that the original song uses a Vocoder. That's the sound that covers are trying to simulate, I'm sure.
Damn. Your criticisms are invalid. Tuning and balancing these dense chords would be difficult for a professional adult choir, but kids? And to do so with such obvious investment and passion? Jesus H.
I find fault more in the rhythm. The conductor should listen to the actual song more - I find more pleasing when it's more true to Imogen Heap rather than what the score says. It's choppy, rushed, and unbalanced. Easy fix - get the students to read the conductors hands, whilst that being said, he should have more ebb and flow; less robotic schemes. These aren't just "kids". They're an internationally renowned treble choir. Plus, the majority of varsity (even state, nationally, and internationally) accomplished high school choirs range from just thirteen to eighteen, generally.
hadezmage he should listen to the actual song more? Your under the impression he didn’t listen to it hundreds if not thousands of times while putting this together? Your serious ? How presumptuous
john doe just because you listen you the song a million times doesn’t imply you understand it. If you don’t understand it, listen to it more. There is no “oh I listened to it 50 times, therefore everything I choose to do with this song is right” you’re under the impression hard work = perfection when in fact, you can work your ass off and still be inaccurate.
It bothers me because they're all slouching REALLY bad and the ones in the back have to look down at the conductor so it's even worse and I just ehhhhhhh
I'm not sure why, but I suddenly have this strange urge to play my old Dreamcast. I find this urge especially weird, since I've never even *owned* a Dreamcast. It must be something about this video, but I can't place my finger on it.
Sara Thibeault i found a more accurate arrangement on scribd which is an app so if you search it on there you should be able to find it :)) (also i know you posted this a long time ago i just felt like a could still help lol)
That's crazy how such a young choir was able to handle those dissonant chords so well! Great control too

seinesalz lmao what? You've got to be joking..

Ada Harrison That might have something to do with the fact that they’re.... children? Sheesh, people are so freaking harsh.

@@adaharrisonn mad respect for the self awareness, a rare sight in YT comments!
Honestly, this version is so gorgeous.
Nojus Mažvydas well they're kids... but true
it me| Yes, as it was made by "kids" its not worthy of being thought of as a cover.
why yu lie

These kids sing as a group better than my choir in college...
I love how posh they sound when they sing hell
I appreciate a non auto tuned cover. These kids have good ears and intonation. Bravo.
yeah, other covers use auto tune because its too difficult to layer their voice. sadness = 100%

I’m in tears :)
Magnifique !!
This is my favorite version of this song!!
Wow! These kids are great. Very impressive considering how difficult A Capella is

Perhaps you're right, dude. Post a performance of your choir performing this piece properly and give them the business.
@@hadezmage it's a 21st century pop song. Not a 17th century formal baroque.

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN THIS IS AMAZING~~~~
Man, I'm just learning to sing properly, in college, with a classically-trained choir. I wish I could sing this well as a kid.
Angels

Chills.
Omg so fantastic! N yes tons of spinal issues and posture problems in that auditorium.
glad to hear You :)

Mi piace anche questa versione ❤️
... stop...listen...angels!
2:58 mmm whatcha say kids style!
Just WOW
4:00 is someone fell asleep then fall? XD
This comment made me laugh so much harder then should of...
xDD
Arden Noblitt sometimes horrible grammar / someone who doesn’t speak English well can be so fucking funny
EVERYONE in this choir has terrible posture lmao
LMFAOOO, Literally only scrolled down to the comment section just to type this
It bothers me because they're all slouching REALLY bad and the ones in the back have to look down at the conductor so it's even worse and I just ehhhhhhh
I was thinking that too! But maybe the lighting makes them look weird, idk
i know right?
at 2:09 it looks like the only one with a better posture is the 2nd girl in the 2nd row starting from the bottom
I think my own personal taste would prefer a slower tempo, but like others have stated, they are phenomenal.
CHILLS
Increíble
3:46 chills!!!
Wow!
I'm not sure why, but I suddenly have this strange urge to play my old Dreamcast. I find this urge especially weird, since I've never even *owned* a Dreamcast. It must be something about this video, but I can't place my finger on it.
damn its to perfect
From America. . . God bless Australia!
Meravigliosa
Does anyone have any leads as to where I could find the choral arrangement for this? It is so beautiful!
Sara Thibeault i found a more accurate arrangement on scribd which is an app so if you search it on there you should be able to find it :)) (also i know you posted this a long time ago i just felt like a could still help lol)
