    i do 225lbs squats for warm up but i dont feel quads as well as i do when doing legpress. I take it that my core is the weak link then?:/ or should i bring legpress in front of squats

    hey jason, huge fan.
    i have beed feeling joint pain for some time and saw a video you did discussing that one should not feel joint pain if he is training right and he is on a good program. i must ask - what is a good program to prevent joint pain yet keep making those gains that you recommending about.
    thanks a lot (=

    Hey, Jason
    First of all, I really appreciate the informative content. I like to listen your videos while I am preparing my dinner. Anyway, I got a problem surrounding my hips. For some odd reason my left hip muscle get really sore from doing leg press- single leg, while right leg seems to feel fresh all the time. However, the soreness goes away if I do multiple extra warm ups sets for my left leg and I still able to progress on all my leg exercises from workout to workout. I know my left hip is a bit tighter and weaker then my right, but oddly my left hamstring is stronger and more mobile then my right, so I still able to use the same weight on both legs. Are their any corrective exercises and/or mobility drill you would recommend? I am a 19 year old student, currently doing a Upperbody/Lowerbody split, training six times a week and i am not overweight, I am decently lean. For legs I am only doing squats and the leg press I described.
    Keep up the good work brother. Salute you from Sweden

    Hi jason , I have a question that I want to ask you, hope you've got time to answer it.
    A while ago I experienced sternum pain after benchpressing. I felt the pain when I bent over or took deep breaths immidiately after a set. I decided to take some weeks of and then start light benchpressing again. It worked , but now after benchpressing for a couple of months the pain came back (again after a set of benchpress).
    Do you have any advise regarding this? , I've seen your video about dips and sternum pain, I do not do dips. I've been training without any of this pain for maybe 3 years.
    Keep up the good work man !

    on your novice programme will you develop an inbalance due to squating three times a week and only deadlifting 1-2 times?

    I have a question about muscle glycogen relative to caloric intake in different individuals, if someone doesnt need a huge amount of calories to be in a surplus is it possible for is glycogen stores dont get as full as person who needs like 3800 calories to gain weigth? And if that person who needs 3800 calories can be glycogen depleted by eating something like 280/300 grams of carbs?

    Mr. Blaha, what are your opinions on trap bar deadlifts/suitcase squats or whatever you want to call them. I have pretty severe kypho scoliosis and have major issues with standard deadlifts but picking up weigh on either side of my body takes enough load off of my lower back that I can tolerate it. Thanks.

    What do you think about quad importance for sports? I have heard some people say it is all about the posterior chain and having strong quads is not NEARLY as important as having a strong posterior chain for sports and athletics.
    P.S. Please do not tell me about quad dominance as I understand it is not good to be quad dominant both from a performance and an injury prevention perspective. My question is whether having strong quads would benefit you much in sports.

      Quads help you explode in a sprint and personally for me I do muay thai stronger quads = stronger teep kicks and more meat on the quads can help you eat leg kicks
      Idk what sport you do but thats how it personally helps me

    Can you be hamstring dominant ? If so, is it a bad or a good thing ? Thanks anyway. :)

      Hamstring dominance has less injury risk than quad dominance

    Jason, please do a video on this for me. If I eat at the maintenance calorie level for my goal weight, will I eventually reach that weight? And would it be better to do this as I'd probably retain more muscle mass doing this? Thanks.

    • @theek2008100
      @theek2008100 7 років тому +1

      He probably wont do a video on this question :) ... but i can give you the answer if you dont mind, yes if you eat the amount of calories youre body needs to maintain let´s say 180lbs and youre currently at 160lbs you will reach 180lbs. But the problem is, you dont know how many calories youre body will need at 180lbs when youre not theire yet. Solution: just do a fairly reasonable bulk, shoot for a weight gain of 2lbs a month as a novice and about an lbs as an intermediate and up and you won´t put on to much fat, adjust as you go.

      Thanks for the reply mate, but I needed it for cutting rather than bulking. I should have mentioned that in the first place. There is a calculator called 'losertown' where you can see exactly how much you'll weigh by a certain date if you follow eating a certain amount of calories. I just don't like eating at a harsh deficit because every time i do so i get overly hungry and my training suffers (the worst part).

      And also I don't see why Jason wouldn't do a video on this because it has actually been Google searched a fair bit, and I think it is actually quite interesting to know

    • @CameronZemek
      @CameronZemek 7 років тому

      TDEE calculators are only estimates wether bulking or cutting. You need to use that as starting point and then trail and error. I have spreadsheet that will alter its estimate as you go, but even its alterations are based on estimates. docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1s4HNBcu-P-_6khMCtZWdq3dlYNCyazVUYJhsGYMUcW8/edit?usp=sharing

    I like the longer videos, I feel like there is a lot of unfinished thoughts in the shorter ones. Keep it! For me it's not about intelligence, I've tested 150 on an IQ test. Also I'm usually multitasking while only listening so I miss things sometimes.
