i'll do things that'll hurt you, girl, i ain't lyin'! i'll do things that'll make you sad, and you'll be dyin'! if you don't watch the way you're messin' around, i'll go my own way, and leave you cryin', cryin', cryin', long, long time i tried to make you understand that i, i needed you girl but every time i looked for you, you were out on your own, now and now that you're needin' me, you better do what i say 'cause i'll leave you, and you'll start cryin', cryin', cryin' long, long time a long, long time a long, long time a long, long time a long, long time a long, long time,...
I would rephrase that as…. ‘66! What a year. Punk was in its infancy, and it was wild and ACID FUELED… I love ‘66, but I wouldn’t call it the peak year for rock music. So much great stuff came out in 70-71 and of course 76-77 with the punk scene bringing it all back home (to those ROOTY-TUTES, baby!)…
My family lived on Long Lane in Finneytown, OH when I was a little kid. My childhood memories include, among many, Brent Elementary, the Reds, and our neighbor, Lenny. I have (somewhere) a 45 with this and "Girl With the Golden Hair" on the flip. Thanks for posting so I could listen to this again.
this song hit the WSAI charts 53 years ago...my dad kept the official Top 40 list to prove it......i also have the 45 for this song - along with a few others from The Us Too Group - to which my father was a founding member.
@@kevingartner775 Thanks for your reply. I own a small but loved record label called Hyperloop Records and would love to give this another lease of life.
@@eleanorrainbow4210 I managed to find the rights owners but sadly they are not allowing any third party licences .Darn shame as it is a cracking song.
Somewhat a bit reminiscent of "I Had Too Much To Dream" but still very cool. Thanks for finding these little gems for us. The mine is getting emptier by the day.

Notice how most of these US garage bands c65-66 owe more to the Yardbirds or the Animals than the Beatles...
One of Cincinnati’s finest 60’s top 40 hits played regularly on WSAI am.thanks so much for posting.😎🎸✌🏽☮️

Cool organ intro to a fine song!
came to this via the excellent garage rock mix from "mod elo". This is a gem. Very soulful with a garage edginess.
Just made the same
Mod Elo is the business.
Garage rock with a psychedelc edge, to my ears a bit of a British feel about, reminding me of the Zombies? Or the Yardbirds?

You be dying.
