Im English, and live in the county of Northamptonshire. I remember pups looking like this, in the 70s and 80s, not so much anymore, so I think you guys have done a remarkable job in, capturing the essence of a traditional English pub. On my travels, Im always seeing old pub memorabilia for sale eg...pint glasses, beer mats, drip trays and the like.
Interesting, thanks for sharing.
What happened to the old pubs from the 70s and 80s?
@@CheeseBae Modernization and closures.
Few or no other people do what you do. It's very impressive.
Thanks. We're very blessed with great clients.
Cool to see the progress on this! Looks so good.
THank you!
Who doesn't love a room paneled in beautiful wood? Pretty much a slice of heaven.
Agreed. Thanks.
Phenomenal work! I am so jealous of the homeowner. I would love to have a Tudor revival, 1920s speakeasy in my basement! I'm curious to see how the posts will be treated.
Ok, more to come.
I love rooms like this. One of my favorite interiors. Looking forward to see how it turns out!
Cool. Thanks.
Wow, amazing, stunning! Bravo to you for reviving these time honored techniques and designs!
Thanks.
Brent, you do some really fascinating projects. The woodwork is priceless.
Thanks.
Brent, please show as much of the basement pub as you possibly can. It is truly something special. Great video. Thanks for sharing! 😁👍👍👍👍👍
Will do.
I've been looking forward to see how this comes out. It's beautiful. It's gonna be insane when it's 100% done.
Agreed. Thanks.
Awesome, looking forward to seeing more of this room.
Ok. Thanks.
This is one of the coolest things I've seen on this channel!
Nice. Thanks.
Love your videos, live in New Hampshire, constantly working on old house and people asking for things that look historic
Cool. Thanks.
So awesome! Well done, Brent.
Thanks.
This one will be awesome!😊
Agreed.
I’m a great fan of oak panelling and congratulate you on what you are achieving. Quarter sawn, fumed oak would be the highest quality. I have to offer a contrary comment to another responder however; in all my life, I have never been in a pub which has this level of quality. Let’s assume that I’ve been to over a thousand pubs over the last 55 years of drinking beer; I’ve seen puns with a panelled wall or a remarkable fireplace but never 100% oak paneling, columns and ceilings. Where I have seen this aesthetic and what your room really resonates me is in London clubs. These clubs generally were founded on the 18th century and are centred around the Pall Mall area of London. Very much bastions of the establishment. Many of the rooms that I’ve been (invited) into look exactly like this Texan room except that the London rooms would have a lot of paintings and, of course, natural daylight. Thinking about it, the other 2 places that has the same aesthetics are the London restaurants , Simpson in the Strand and Rules (Covent Garden). Differences of course, but rather more accessible to the public. I should say that if any visitor would like a guide to the restaurant with informed views on the menus, then I would be happy to oblige; all for the price of the (quite expensive) meal. Sorry, just trying for a free elegant experience!
Haha. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like I need to go on a pub crawl with you.
Absolutely GORGEOUS!!! 🔥🔥
THanks
Called pubs here in England👍
True. Thanks.
Beautiful!
Thanks!
Love it, love it, love it!!!
Thanks.
Love it beautiful
Thanks.
Incredible work! Any possibility for a full video on staining wood trim? I believe it is critical to the final result.
Yes, good idea. Thanks.
Are you stripping the panels down and restaining to get everything to match like that? Just been lucky that nothing faded or yellowed over the years? Cool room though was following the build over on Richards channel but he hasn't posted anything on this project in awhile, nice to see it coming together.
Thanks for watching.
Cold kegerator? In that room? Cask for cask ale for REAL ALE!
Nice. I'll let the owner know.
I wish someone local could do these panels. Tudor Artisans is the only place I saw and who knows what their prices are now. I’m curious to know who much recreation Tudor paneling cost?
Good question, I'll let you know when we finish.
Strap panels are taken from the Fibonacci Sequence. Nice work.
Thanks.
Did you use oak plywood for the panels?
Yes. Thanks.
Did you buy the original room from the dealer because it was cheaper than making one from scratch, or the client wanted authentic old wood?
Yes, bought from a dealer for 10c on the dollar. Saved tens of thousands.
More English than England!
Thanks.
The owner MUST get a liquor license and open the Pub. Don’t forget the beer cooler room and ice makers. It MUST have a whole bunch of gentlemen in it having pints and talking insurrection.
Haha, I'll let the owner know.
Looks great but it's a shame this is a private home and the work can't be enjoyed by regular people. So much wealth is hidden in American homes.
We all can dreams and create beautiful work in our homes if we desire and can afford. Thanks to Brent we can experience this beautiful art. I will definitely will love this in my home library .
Noted.
