This song is packed with meaning and emotion from Hiro's decision to sing it, Wendy's understanding at that moment of how much he loved her by singing it, and Producer Dota's face realizing that this was special...this was rock and roll., not Tokyo Pop. Great stuff.

I got to watch the 4K restoration in theatres recently and it was truly beautiful! I hope they are planning to find a UHD distributor and potentially digital distributor so everyone can see it the way I did!

A very good and underrated film from from that era. If you were ever young and in Japan,you will enjoy it even more so. Still love it even today. RIP Carrie Hamilton (daughter of Carol Burnett).
My grand daughter brought some nostalgia into my life when she said she was in to some Japanese show called JoJo. I watched Tokyo Pop everyday after school growing up in the 80’s. I had to find the movie and this one song Hiro’s song in Japanese and English. Funny how my grand daughter is obsessed with a Japanese show

The year was 88' and I had just got back from Asia after a year abroad where I had experienced similar things in the movie. This and the film, Black Rain with Michael Douglas which came out in 89' are the two movies that take me back to those intense feelings of my time abroad. I love this movie and Carrie Hamilton is nothing short of brilliant in it. Today I watch these films with great fondness while cherishing the memories I have, basking in the nostalgia to a period of my life that still resonates today. What an era (the 80's) to have witnessed and experienced in my youth, and these two films mark the closing of that era with such perfection for me, personally. Thank you Fran, and to the rest of cast, Arigato.

Ahh, SO nostalgic! This was my favourite movie from my 80s childhood. My mum and younger brother and I must have seen it a dozen times together back then. And this is such a beautiful song!

Excuse me? But what do you mean BEST BUY? Their hasn't been any announcement of the Blu-Ray release of TOKYO POP (1988).
How about the really sweet instrumental music from the movie? My daughter found the tape of Tokyo Pop in the bargain bin at Gifu Station in 1992. We snatched it right up and still have it.

Me too! I had it on VHS for years (found it in the discount bin at the Flying J Truck Stop in Spokane, Washington sometime during the '90's), but it became a victim of my ex, who threw out a bunch of my stuff. It's a great movie!

No offense, but Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST has got songs, comedy and drama. And Tokyo Pop (1989) has got a little bit of it's own. Don't forget in this movie Tokyo Pop we see KING KONG the gorilla walk into the music department and gives the employee a recorded song tape by Carrie Hamilton, but the employee throws away the tape in the trash.
Look this movie TOKYO POP (1988) is better than the drama movies I ever saw. And I am going to treasure this 1988 classic film forever, but I do wish people would watch this movie again and again instead of forgetting all about it.
Walt Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST (1991) is a better Hollywood movie.
