This is actually quite dark- cause it’s mostly talking about body image- this is so sad. Although, I’m the last person to judge anyone- but we have come to a very image obsessed society and it makes me feel awful!
it wasn't the pitch, but it would make some sense if Cristine did come out with either a skincare line or a makeup line that didn't cause skin reactions, aimed at those like her who have allergy issues. Agreed. Because Cristine and Ben are such ethical and honest people I'm willing to buy whatever they promote: clothing brands, David's Tea, Oats Overnight, etc.
I love how all the companies are just sending USD amounts and expecting Cristine to figure out the exchange to CAD herself 😂 it's especially interesting because the Canadian dollar amounts would be larger and more "enticing"
They may actually pay in USD, the UA-camr would have to deal with the exchange. Though in today's world, that's mostly automatic. But they can't advertise in CAD because they don't guarantee that. If the rate changes it may be more or less.
As a tiny creator with like 4K subs..I get these emails daily too. I’m even more suspicious of them cause I’m wondering why they’re offering to such a small channel

As always, thanks for a great taco tuesday.
No you're right, it is totally crazy how normalised plastic surgery is. And the discourse around it is borked because people are so unwilling to examine their own choices. To say "I do it for myself/it's my body my choice" like we all live in individual vacuums is hugely disingenuous. I have been subject to it and found myself researching undereye fillers. The idea that my undereyes would look better a different way is totally subjective and it *came from somewhere*. Incidentally I ruled it out because of the cost! I was shocked at how much money people are sinking into beauty procedures. There'll be a thread on BCG of people hating on this podcast because you're judging women for their choices by not viewing societal trends totally uncritically again BEN.
totally agree.. i hate it when people say “it makes me feel confident!” like achieving confidence at any cost should be the goal. sure, maybe you are gaining some confidence but the reason you’re gaining confidence is because you’re conforming to beauty standards, not because changing your nose a few mm or having boobs a few sizes different can inherently make you feel better. if you lived on a desert island would your nose size matter? no? then you aren’t doing it only for yourself. also the effects of people in your life seeing you change your nose will make others question their noses, etc, so you are perpetuating these beauty standards which can harm other women/people edit: also it just perpetuates the idea that your confidence should come from your looks and your looks are inherently important to who you are
a really good point. all these fillers and surgeries just perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards and that leads to several young women and men inherently growing up with insecurities and a desire to change themselves. gonna nerd it out a bit: there's a Marxist concept called interpellation which essentially means that the decisions we seem to think are made by us are actually made by societal constructs that have been embedded into our psyche.
I do think health related plastic surgery is obviously important (breast reduction, weight reduction, reworking inside the nose, etc). I'm kind of for plastic surgery in some cases, but I think it's way to normalized. It should be destigmatized, but not normalized if you know what I mean.
well, i am gonna disagree. Maybe i will be a little biased because of my own plans but i think blaming individuals for confirming to the beauty standards is kinda wrong. i get that individuals are the ones to create the society and the standards but to me it is more influencers and advertisements. growing up before social media was this prevalent i had people around me that had both perfect noses and also ones with conventionally not so pretty noses. even though i always had the worst nose i never realized it until social media became what it is today. this was when both i started realizing how ugly my nose was and also people started pointing it out. now i want to get nose job but also growing up i have seen especially my mom constantly making fun of people’s plastic surgery. and now i feel like i can’t win both ways. if i don’t get a surgery how will i ever feel confident when i never saw someone with my nose being called “pretty”, never someone like me being listed in the top ten hottest lists of tabloids? i have constantly called i should put my glasses back on cause i looked better with them (covering my nose’s bridge). i have heard highscool friends talking about another friend and how he would actually be very handsome if he had a good nose or how she is not even that beautiful did you see her nose kind of stuff. i feel like blaming me or individuals who were unhappy that mask mandates ended because now we can’t cover our nose for getting surgeries is unfair. if we get surgery we are at fault for contributing to beauty standards or we are fake and all that stuff . i think solution to these should not be with blaming individuals who get these surgeries to fell more confident but celebrities who enforces these, movies who never have even slightly flawed actresses, advertisements saying this is the way for fulfillment, fashion shows which even while including plus size models still picking ones with pretty facial features. (i ranted a little i think and sorry if it came of as a little angry or offensive it was not my intention and also sorry for my broken english :( )
Menchie sitting behind Ben’s laptop is so cute! 🥰 Also super interesting to hear what kind of emails Cristine gets. I used to manage a small cafe and we would get kind of the reverse, where influencers would email us asking for free food or gift cards in exchange for posting about the cafe.
There's a very famous surgery that actually cures all ills, and was promoted as such for a previous king Charles on England . It's rather quick and doesn't even require getting sedated . It also makes you loose a few kg of weight instantly and more longer term, though you don't get to enjoy it. Because the surgery is named beheading .
The extra excitement you can see on Cristine’s face when she’s doing a secret holo taco sneak peek in the background is why I buy her products. They really put their heart and soul into everything and it shows 🥺💿💞
I've always wondered with brand deals for skin care or even gummies/vitamins; the influencer usually says they've been trying it for a month or more, but the container they're using is full so obviously they weren't. Is it required of the influencer to have a full container for aesthetics or is it just the influencer not using it? Because, at least to me, it just seems disingenuous when I see the product is full. Anyone else feel this way?
It's really interesting to me that Cristine maintains such a heavy work load, is very concise, organized, and detail oriented....but lets her email inbox get crazy like this😂 honestly it's nice in my opinion that she doesnt stress herself over all those emails like she used to with fan letters. I usually subscribe to a musician who does full concerts on twitch, I see it as a reasonable ticket price and mentally compare it to physical concert tickets.
I love Ben's voice ❤️
Love yall 💓
the fact that you titled the timestamp "Tana Mongoose" GUYS
Bless you, I needed this taco Tuesday upload
This is actually quite dark- cause it’s mostly talking about body image- this is so sad. Although, I’m the last person to judge anyone- but we have come to a very image obsessed society and it makes me feel awful!
it wasn't the pitch, but it would make some sense if Cristine did come out with either a skincare line or a makeup line that didn't cause skin reactions, aimed at those like her who have allergy issues. Not saying that would be something that would happen, but it would make sense from a brand standpoint
I see tourquoise on Ben's ring finger... 😀
1) "Funny emails"'s label: is it curated by you or automatically detect the spam?
2) 47:35 I'd like an emoji of Menchie's sleeping face & pose.
3) Today I've received a box of Holo Taco, I'd painted my nails while you were discussing funny emails :) .
4) and What's on my other hand? and Ben's hand? and on that shelfs behind you? ¬¬
Hi Ben, a Symp from Argentina. 😉
I wonder if that $2500 spent per year is based on online shopping? Amazon, eBay, Walmart, various electronics etc. That I would believe.
i haven’t been watching (work & school), did cristine color her hair??!
At least the "I tried the ... Diet" email used kg in an email to a Canadian rather than pounds.
That new collection box tho 👀
This was very 🤩
Did I miss something? Cristine said herself in her last email video that she doesn't wear glasses.
Can we at least have one time where you have another influencer on, usually I'm like meh when you say you run out of time, but I really like Cody ko too and it woulda been so cool to them on the podcast.🥺 regardless, love the podcast 💕
I googled slimming patch just to see what would pop up thinking maybe 1 or 2 companies but the first link said "top 9" what the heck! How do people fall for this stuff
real ones will remember “they wanted to sponsor his proposal” ahahah 😭
some influencers have actually done this and it’s soooo cringey 😭😭

The ironic thing is, since I find Cristine and Ben so ethical, honest and charitable I might feel ok paying a monthly membership subscription for no particular reason lol.
If more youtubers held even 1/10th of their values, the online creator space would be exponentially improved.
Agreed! Their integrity and honesty are the reason I purchased Oats Overnight! I can’t imagine that I would ever do something similar for another UA-camr.
Agreed. Because Cristine and Ben are such ethical and honest people I'm willing to buy whatever they promote: clothing brands, David's Tea, Oats Overnight, etc.
honestly, not only youtube would be better, THE WHOLE WORLD!!!!! think about politicians, they are all corrupted, at least in Latinoamerica.
@@zairabandy8695 so true, we need to promote and stan more individuals like them!
For real! I would totally pay for that subscription for no reason.

Me: *cries in super simp*
Lol
This. This is the comment I was looking for 🤣🤣🤣
I love how all the companies are just sending USD amounts and expecting Cristine to figure out the exchange to CAD herself 😂 it's especially interesting because the Canadian dollar amounts would be larger and more "enticing"
Probably because they are just sending everyone the same email without even knowing the creator and where they are from
They may actually pay in USD, the UA-camr would have to deal with the exchange. Though in today's world, that's mostly automatic. But they can't advertise in CAD because they don't guarantee that. If the rate changes it may be more or less.
The podcast is posted directly after I finish work. Needless to say, Tuesday walks home are the BEST.
Same here!!!
Super cute
"You know what happened to Beanie Babies?"
"I don't know what happened to Beanie Babies."
"Exactly."
Best part of this video
I hollered ! :D Maybe most of GenZ don't even know what a beanie baby is lol
@@Heartcore90 I’m 19 and only own 2 beanie babies, but I love them lol. They’ve definitely fallen out of popularity (for a few years now :p) tho 😂
Did you know that McDonald's recently had mini beanie babies as the toy in their Happy Meals? I now have 3.
Beanie Boos are alive and well. They're irresistibly cute tbh.
I know what happened to them. Hundreds of them are sitting in bins in the guest room closet lol
Everytime Ben talks about influencers I really want him to start a Tea Spill channel 😩🙏🏻
As a tiny creator with like 4K subs..I get these emails daily too. I’m even more suspicious of them cause I’m wondering why they’re offering to such a small channel
Your channel looks SO COOL! SUBSCRIBED :)
I think the podcast is turning into a spot the new product game
Right?! I kept trying to squint to get a better look lmao.
Weekly Easter egg hunt 🐰
I don't really enjoy podcasts as it's hard for me to focus so long, but honestly Simplypodlogical isn't as difficult as my attention is piqued completely throughout, I have no interest in this topic but the way Ben and Cristine talk about the topics on this podcast is not only super soothing, but their mature and inclusive viewpoints really feels refreshing to listen to.
There'll be a thread on BCG of people hating on this podcast because you're judging women for their choices by not viewing societal trends totally uncritically again BEN.
totally agree.. i hate it when people say “it makes me feel confident!” like achieving confidence at any cost should be the goal. sure, maybe you are gaining some confidence but the reason you’re gaining confidence is because you’re conforming to beauty standards, not because changing your nose a few mm or having boobs a few sizes different can inherently make you feel better. if you lived on a desert island would your nose size matter? no? then you aren’t doing it only for yourself. also the effects of people in your life seeing you change your nose will make others question their noses, etc, so you are perpetuating these beauty standards which can harm other women/people
edit: also it just perpetuates the idea that your confidence should come from
your looks and your looks are inherently important to who you are
a really good point. all these fillers and surgeries just perpetuate unrealistic beauty standards and that leads to several young women and men inherently growing up with insecurities and a desire to change themselves.
gonna nerd it out a bit: there's a Marxist concept called interpellation which essentially means that the decisions we seem to think are made by us are actually made by societal constructs that have been embedded into our psyche.
💯💯💯
How you didn’t jokingly have Raid Shadow legends sponsor this pod is a missed opportunity...
Menchie sitting behind Ben’s laptop is so cute! 🥰
Also super interesting to hear what kind of emails Cristine gets. I used to manage a small cafe and we would get kind of the reverse, where influencers would email us asking for free food or gift cards in exchange for posting about the cafe.
does anyone else love how menchie just sits on the table for like 10 minutes straight, like it’s soooooooo cute
Lol right away too ☺
I like how Menchie and Zyler have clearly favored being on Ben's side
They just want to be involved 🥰
It's so wholesome watching Menchie just relax near Beyyyn 😍
It’s crazy that brands would pay someone so much to have plastic surgery. It’s very harmful and disrespectful.
a lot of really big influencers can get free plastic surgery too and then they promote that plastic surgery office to their followers. it’s awful
Menchie's devotion towards Beeyynn inspires me to rescue a cat every time I see either of them together
Please react to all the Eurovision songs + pauze acts in your next Podcasts it would mean a lot for your 3 European listeners!!
As someone still living through the Eurovision craze I totally agree! I want to see Cristine singing Mata Hari
So early! Had so much fun on Sunday, can't wait for the next one!
Such an interesting podcast, can't wait to see what the next topic is!
I mean they almost definitely won’t be using any of the stuff they promote but they probably do use a full container because it looks better ?

Me: Learn About What's Inside Cristine's Inbox? Why Not Lol! 😂
It’s summer for me now lol
the exact same thing happened to me now KKKKKKKK i should go back tho
It's really interesting to me that Cristine maintains such a heavy work load, is very concise, organized, and detail oriented....but lets her email inbox get crazy like this😂 honestly it's nice in my opinion that she doesnt stress herself over all those emails like she used to with fan letters. Thanks for the podcast!
I find this interesting as well. It kinda shows that she really cares about her fans and not so much about getting to brands.
I am not anywhere close to as organized as cristine but i hate even seeing 10 emails in my inbox. I have to consistently clear out my emails
@@susannazvara4915 i am the same way 😂 mostly because for my job I have to have a clear inbox to keep track of things. Having folders like how cristine had in this video really helps with that for example she was storing these example emails from the video into a "funny emails" folder
I feel like it's different when you get so many useless emails like cristine does, because why go through emails if you know they suck
I imagine she has other email accounts for things she actually needs. The simplynailogical mail account is just unread.
