My wife and I were baptized recently and we're trying to point our lives toward Christ. This is my hardest struggle. My dad was a pastor, he is a good man, and 20 years ago he was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS. I watched so many pastors, elders, church members lay hands on him and pray, but nothing changed. I spent many years running from him over this and my own shortcomings. I still don't understand His plan, but I'm trying. My dad is bed bound and as faithful, peaceful and kind as ever. I've practiced praying since and I thank Him for blessings, but requesting is hard to muster. Pray for my wife and I, please, if you're reading this.
Thank you. I needed to hear this right now. My husband and I are in a time of trial and waiting. It has been very difficult. Your admonition and encouragement was timely. May the Lord continue to use you and your channel to teach and bless others. God bless.
When I was a kid, my parents always said "Sometimes God says no, and sometimes God says not yet" about prayers. Idk how theologically accurate that is as I've never analyzed it, but as a child, I always found that comforting.
JM, one of the best things about your channel is that you don't gloss over many issues in your Bible/religion that give so many people problems. I don't feel you answered these questions to my satisfaction, but you did not ignore them. I kept waiting for you to quote Psalm 30, "Weeping may linger for the night, but joy comes with the morning." That is often preached when the hard questions are spoken of. It makes for a good sermon, but is not more true than the idea there is no supernatural being directing all that happens, or at least, not one something as finite as a human being can experience.
I am also working through Psalms this year, my focus is on relationship and prayer. Psalms does teach us to have a very guenuine and unique relationship with God through prayer. 👍
When we ask God for things it’s not all the time that the answer will be yes, sometimes it is no and sometimes it yes but not yet. We just need to trust him.
I’m so happy that you are shining a light on this angst..We Christians need to learn from Job’s story…We need to come along side and not try to fix, point fingers…but just sit and listen and validate and most of all PRAY with and for them that they experience the peace of God, which transcends all understanding❤
Sometimes the answer is yes. Sometimes it's no. Sometimes it's not yet. Sometimes He has a different path for us. God answers every prayer one way or another but we need to remember to wait upon the Lord. I'm a good example of what happens to people who don't wait. I made a habit of becoming too attached too fast thinking for some silly reason, that if I did the whole good wife thing it would keep things from going wrong. There are so many things I'd love to tell what happens to people. I'm in a much better place now but I still pay the consequences of my previous steps and sadly it's affected my children as well. Even after a great day at home I have nightmares about past things. Very condensed here LoL I'm not single but I have been and I know how that is but please be patient. This is a great video!! I'm glad it came up in my recommendations!
I don't believe there is such a thing as unanswered prayer. God answers prayer with a yes, a no or a maybe later. Prayer is not a one and done event. We are told to be persistent in prayer. What God has denied in the moment may be granted later. God does not ignore our prayers, but may not give us the answer we want. His wisdom is beyond our desires. Praise God.
I realize that my answer is very simplistic, however, I believe there are 3 answers God gives to our prayers - yes, no, not yet. Sometimes we block answered prayer because we as for something and we don’t realize the answer when it comes wrapped differently than we expected.
@@Denise-s7m it is a clinical issue for many of us...and God knows that. No need to be superstituous about mental illness any more than about physical illness.

I agree
Did you watch this whole video? This is exactly the type of answer that is not helpful.
You cover bible reviews right
Most times unanswered prayer is answered prayer. We just don't like the answer.
keep the commandments & don’t turn the ear from hearing the Torah

NEVER - Say depressed. Say sad. Its ok to be sad even very sad. When you say depressed it becomes a clinical issue and God knows we dont need that
