Terra's coming out was such a touching scene, and Eliot performed it beautifully. Everyone's reactions were beautiful, especially Flora's, and the way the group instantly supported Terra instantly melted my heart. ♥️

Terra coming out to her friends was just a beautiful scene of how it should be for anyone coming out. Pure unadulterated acceptance and love!
the scene of Terra telling the whole suite makes me cry everytime i watch it. it's one of the best coming out scenes i've seen!
Other than the scene itself, I’m glad the first person to move in to hug Terra was Stella..

I literally cried and got emotional because I definitely relate to the scene. Coming out is never easy and I'm so happy that Terra came out and she has these amazing friends around her to love and adore her just the way she is. She is amazing though. Can't wait for S3.
yes yes very emotional like every other Netflix show. Also, the scene gave so much value to the plot like wow. Literal plot twist. Jaw-dropping. Who could've known? Netflix was going to bring out a gay character? and it's an MC? and right after they're certain viewers have invested enough time into the show for them to keep watching it? not me man, not me.

When s1 came out terra was immediately my fav character and comfort in fate and when s2 came and this scene I jumped in the air bec I'm lesbian and also kind of plus sized and I cried bec I am so happy to see a lesbian character in fate

I wasn't wowed by the first season from what I remember, but I did find Terra to be an endearing character. This reveal makes me like her even more.

Sorry for saying this but:
Why Terra is gay? From the first season we didn't had a clue or a glance of she being gay, never and now she magically became gay.
Why they didn't say that in the first season? They show Riven, Beatrix and Dane having a relationship together, so why didn't show Terra also?
I think they made this decision afterwords, because they didn't know how to develop Terra.
Still in the second season we can get confused about how she feels towards Riven, and we might think that she is jealous of Flora.
I don't know, they didn't develop the characters that well and also their stories.
Terra can be or like whoever she wants but we need to see the process while she is discovering her sexuality.
Ps: Also the clothes for Terra doesn't mean if she dressed more "manly" she likes girls and also the opposite. I would like to see a more mature rappresentation of lesbian girls and boys.
I do have to say; love Terra but these 2 don't look like they match as a couple at all, I get a very forced relationship feeling from them. Like..it's ok to be single, not everyone in this show needs a relationship, just let it build up naturally and not with 2 completely different personalities.

I DID NOT EXPECT THAT AT ALL BUT HAPPY FOR TERRA!
This scene was perfectly done. It felt real, not contrived and I can imagine so many of us in the LGBTQ community coming out exactly the way Terra did. One big announcement and immediately moving on to the next thing to avoid any awkwardness. And the friends coming to hug her was just a lovely, lovely touch.
Nothing about this felt real. After pining after a boy and getting her heart broken because he talked about her, suddenly she's always known she was gay? If that was the case, then why did we have to suffer through her trying to impress Dane in season one?

We all agree this came out of nowhere right? I am gay, but ffs her being lesbian came after about 3 minute of screen time with another chick, while we had to endure hours of her being the "i am fat loser who can't get a hot guy" cliche. And apparently her room mate is an empath with 0 gaydar, otherwise she would have helped her come out earlier.
Plus, didn't half the Winx that made it to Fate (Layla/Aisha, Musa, and Flora), plus Tecna and Mirta (who still counts as one, dangit!), come across as super queer-coded in the original series? Like, did it have to be the controversial OC that ends up being the LGBT+ fairy instead of any of the near-army of more familiar characters that never had that facet of their characters explored before? FFS, it's not like Fate respects anything else about Winx, so it boggles the mind that they're sticking to the "none of the characters from the cartoon can be openly queer" rule.

00:51 - man, this reeks of the same "I've never had a good hetero relationship, so I must be gay" pity-party that Alan had on Two And A Half Men. Like, how hard would it have been to write Flora, Layla/Aisha, or Musa as the LGBT+ Winx, what with them feeling strongly queer-coded in the original series. Or use Tecna or (heaven forbid) Mirta for this, since they're pretty blank slates in the cartoon.
They're probably hesitant to write an already established character as "too queer" (I say "too" because of Riven's thing with Dane, but that could be labelled an exception as it was presumed he was always going to end up with Musa eventually) out of fear that OG fans would hate-cancel the show for "ruining" the nostalgia (e.g. if they made Flora a lesbian then fans would get angry because that would mean they weren't sticking true to Flora/Helia). Just a thought.
@@redcheck4624 I'd agree, except that sites like FanFiction and AO3 are full of Fate-based rewrites that "gay up" the OG characters, though you might be right about Flora specifically; even the rewrites that have her as queer make her bi, presumably to cock-tease the Flora/Mirta pairing before yanking the rug out and just going with the same old Flora/Helia story again.

Musa as a white girl when she was supposed to be Asian and Flora only got thrown into season 2 due to the criticism they received from viewers being pissed she was replaced by a overweight, white homosexual girl named Terra. I’d be surprised if we ever get a south Asian Helia or an Indian Nabu. They will probably cast two white dudes
@@wishingonthemoon1 it is a little. While Flora is obviously here in season 2, season 1 gave the impression they had replaced/substituted her with Terra who is clearly white. Also Musa was very strongly Chinese-coded in the original cartoon, and in Fate her actress is obviously not Chinese
