- Nagoya City recently held a Baumkuchen Festival in Matsuzakaya Nagoya Store. There are plenty of people came to the event and grab their favorite flavor of Baumkuchen. Japan started making a Baumkuchen in 1919. It has different types, brands, flavors and colors to choose from. This expo is a gathering of sweets maker such as Baumkuchen from other regions in Japan.
