    These are the rules :-
    1) If you can't decide, the answer is NO!
    2) If both options looks equal, go for the path which has short term pain and long term gain!
    3) Make the choice which leaves internally equanimous!

    If u have can't decide the answer is NO.

    Rule 1 is relative. There has to be a balance between short term and long term gains/hapiness..perhaps 30:70 ratio..what if one died prematurely?like steve jobbs..find small things that make you happy everyday,have carbs once in a while,take a break from gymming every now and then,applies for financial goals too..just my 2 bit:)

    If the decision is about ending a relationship, seek help with a therapist or go for couple’s therapy. Don’t base the decision on your own reasoning because a lot of it is clouded by emotions and even personality and mental health issues. Relying on your own mind might be detrimental once the dust settles.

    How is the law of compound interest applicable?
    A dollar today is worth more than one in the future.

    • @WillinovaTV
      @WillinovaTV 8 місяців тому +1

      Not necessarily. Naval said to choose the short term pain with long term gain ie peace and comfort. It’s like comfort zone is short term gain and long term pain ie staying in an unhappy relationship for the take of keeping the peace (in the short term)

    1 and 2 are contradictory. Short term pain is what causes indecisiveness.

    • @ultiumlabs4899
      @ultiumlabs4899 2 роки тому

      can you give an example?

    • @huntrz
      @huntrz 2 роки тому +2

      @@ultiumlabs4899 The premise that short term pain will lead to future gain is wrong. Imagine a boxer taking punches early on hoping to fire at the end may wear himself out altogether with the pain. Short term pain makes an option unattractive causing dilemma and indecisiveness w.r.t to an option offering short term gains. As per rule 1 the answer is no. One may end up choosing wrong/easy option. Indecisiveness may also be due to the interia or comfort zone. As they say life starts after comfort zone. If indeciciveness is about coming out of comfort zone and choosing short term pain is resolved by saying the answer is no means the person will avoid taking risk. But then rule 2 says choose the option with short term pain. It all depends more on how we are looking at the problem and its options. Life is definitely not that simple.

    • @bhaveshartsy7805
      @bhaveshartsy7805 2 роки тому +2

      @@huntrz Yes, I have seen contradictions too but not on your point.
      but on this
      what if you choose peace of mind and stay in your comfort zone, you are making an easy choice then? as the world is continuously changing, it will cause problems if one stays in the comfort zone, Am I right?

    • @huntrz
      @huntrz 2 роки тому +1

      @@bhaveshartsy7805 yes I was saying the same thing but in very short. Basically the option with short term pain will make the option of staying in the comfort zone look attractive, this will cause the person to choose the easier option of staying in the comfort zone. This contradicts the point "if you can't decide,the answer is no". Because a person will now decisively choose not to take risks and stay in the comfort zone due to probabale short term pain.
