(and since Trev's the one who usually chases him, he ran that way. Not saying that's necessarily why, but probably part of it)

I have a theory. Koda might have picked Trevor because usually Trev is the one who is playing chase with him. Cooper might have picked Trevor because he is the one who yells "SUPER COOPER SUNDAYYYY!" and he does the crazy things with Coop. But, don't feel bad Chels, the boys clearly love you too!
I think it is always the person they run with, when they are lookign at them right before the run. They never take the eyes off them then. And also that Trevor probably runs faster, more exciting. Also Chelsea had barely any room to run there.
Yeah dogs don’t really work like humans in which they run to the person they LOVE more, just the person who they play with more.

its just different. trevor is the playmate where chels is probably more the caretaker. and this test kicks into the play side of things.
Yeah it's that that tough really, they're not picking the person they prefer overall, but who they want to chase and especially for Kodo who isn't as active, he's only running when he wants to play and Trev is who is wrestlers and rough plays with
Remember when they came home from a cruise 2 years ago? Coopie stuck like glue to Chels and Koda didn’t let Trev out of his sight. This still stands in my opinion 😜🐾💕🐾

I think what I love most is when the video starts here is Cooper laying in the love sack. I can remember back to a time when it was absolutely taboo for Cooper to be anywhere near the love sack and now he has claimed it as his own.
Trevor is the fun dad that the dogs go out and play with. Cheals is the loving and caring mom that nurtured them through life so well. That they buy her her dream car.

Nah, both koda and cooper love her soo much if you pay close attention. Trevor is just more hyper than Chels so it gets the dogs worked up more, but when things are calmer you see cooper following chels everywhere and Koda tries to give her kisses anytime she is at his level. Just look at how the dogs react when she comes home from work.

I remember they did something like this before and Trev was the champ at the beginning then the dogs just went back and forth. Trev and Chels really are the best dog parents ever

The problem I see with this trend is the dog tends to follow whoever they're *looking* at, when the countdown finishes. They see whoever they're looking at running away, so they chase that person, unaware that the other person behind them is also running. A more accurate test might be to have both people run in the same direction (so the dog can see both at once), and then veer left or right after a few seconds. Then the dog is actually going to make a choice, instead of just following the first person they see.

It's whoever they're looking at when you start running. That's who they follow. They can't look at both of you at the same time if you stand on either side of them.
Agreed you can see that in every one of these challenge videos.
He can look at both of them if they make him stay a couple feet to the side, like a triangle.

What I saw were the times Koda and Cooper ran after Trev, from the moment of the countdown both dogs were watching Trev instead of Chels so it's pretty obvious, they'd run after the person they were looking at. I'm not surprised at this though when our dog was still alive (he's passed away due to cancer), I was in Chels' or mom's role as in. I was around him more often than my husband was. But from day one, it's obvious that my husband was the leader of the pack so he's more excited to pay attention to my husband than me lol.

You need to try this in a neutral field. In this one Chels ran toward the house so the dogs are like okay, you should be safe, while trev ran away from the house so they felt he needed the protection.

That's not fair.... Trev is always the one playing in videos so obviously the dogs will go to him... While Chels is more fpr cuddles and food giver for them. I'm sure they'll go to Chels if it was about cuddling or giving treats or something
