Super interesting video! I just question if some things go against our main economy of consumerism. Who has time to create their own clothing at home these days? As well as research and find the perfect items. Most of the time we just want something quick because we have a million of other things to do. So buying new is the fastest route. Probably we just need good products, made in the best way possible.
This is an interesting piece of information to think of the impact it creates on the whole population and the planet. All this said, companies are making profits even when they make and sell clothing relatively cheaper. My concern is, how do we expect the economic class of people who shop at places like Walmart? for them it is the most affordable clothing determined by their poor disposable income after rent, food and utilities, children's expenses ( families above the poverty line with an average $50K annual income ) and they represent almost 60 -70% of the population in Canada. You are only pre-occupied and conscious of how you can save every penny for your daily survival.
Thrift or otherwise buy second- hand? It can be more time consuming than picking up some clothes at Walmart while you get you groceries, but at least it’s affordable.
How does this not have more views and likes? Not promoted by the consumerist algorithm? 🤔 Truly inspiring talk on sustainable fashion 👍

I use Renoon to find new sustainable brands. Also zero time to thrift shop. I also try to read some books on the topic just to be more informed.
