Somi performs an original, searing interpretation of Sting's seminal "Englishman in New York". Recorded at Alte Oper in May 2019 with Frankfurt Radio Big Band. Arranged and Conducted by John Beasley. Also featuring Toru Dodo on piano and Hervé Samb on guitar. This song appears on Somi's Grammy nominated live album 'Holy Room'. The lyrics highlight the experience of working class African immigrants in Harlem, NYC.
