It's reality tv. They know exactly who they're casting. They're not going to pick 16 queens who all know how to sew. Every year they'll deliberately pick at least some people who can't sew.

Most people working in fashion have narrow and ever-changing views about what’s deemed fashionable and what’s not, but that doesn’t take away the fact that Violet knows how to style and what works best. VERY few people have her instincts and knowledge honed by what must’ve been years of studying fashion history and research.
Pretty much every creative field is flooded with talent. The end result is that people in the field ARE hypercritical. You won't make it without thick skin and crazy perseverance.

The issue wasn't really Violet. It was the pairing with Gottmik. Look for Violet's FFR specials with Katya (the one with Taylor Swift is gold); they balance each other off perfectly. Or her Pit Stop with Trixie. But the pairing with Gottmik just did not work for FFR (it works fine on No Gorge).
