    I just noticed, that little exchange at 1:01 to 1:06, Mitchum is using some sort of double action instead of the single action he's seen using in the rest of the film. When Cole and him walk out, he's back to holding a single action revolver.

    "Just who are you, anyway??"
    Mitchum asks Caan that every time he starts to sober up!

    One of the Duke's funniest lines , Mississippi said he was limping when he left , Duke says he was limping when he got here , lol

    Mississippi should have run down the feller limping & threw his knife instead of using the scatter gun as he was more accurate with the knife, lol, & he surely should be able to get close as that feller had a limp.

      Wouldn't have been as funny and would have eliminated the barroom scene. No logic allowed in westerns.

    Always wondered why they used the music from the Batman tv show in this movie. Watch the scene as they make their way up to the church.

      There are similarities because this film and the television series were scored by the same person - Nelson Riddle. But, no - he didn't recycle his Batman music for this film. He just had a distinctive sound, especially in how he used brass instruments.
      Best wishes from Vermont 🍁

    Great film, still got it on a video from when it was on TV years ago. As long as my video player keeps working... Has anyone come across a free version of Rachel and the Stranger, starring William Holden?

    John Wayne was pretty Funny In this movie. He at this point think had done North To Alaska and McClintock which were funnier films. He was limping when he got here and You should know you missed him and the whole Mississippi making the sober cure had Wayne acting with comedy come backs you normally didnt see in Rio Bravo or Red River

    Yeah, i can't figure out how someone can throw a knife that accurate, even though a short distance, but miss somebody wirh a doulbe barrel sawwed of shotgun firing 2 rounds( 9 , .30 caliber pellets each shell & 2 = 18 on a 12 gauge) at that distance, which would have spread appx. 8 ft. Wide, & miss, lol

    Do a remake with Scott Caan

  • @stevelogan5475
    @stevelogan5475 4 роки тому

    Mississippi, he ought to aim low, about at the knees cause he is anticipating the recoil & that way he'd hit them in the upper torso. There are 9, .30 caliber round ball shots in each of those 12 gauge shells = 18, can't miss with the spread of a sawwed off shotgun at that range & that would do the job.
