Cruising Glacier Bay National Park

- Sharing another video now from our cruise last August aboard the Norwegian Encore. Specifically chose our cruise because it went to Glacier Bay National Park and it did not disappoint.
Some fun facts - The park is 3.3 million acres and has over 1,000 glaciers!
Most visitors arrive via cruise ship (over 500,000 visitors annually) and the park has some pretty strict guidelines in that only 2 cruise ships per day are allowed in.
On our visit we saw a bald eagle and lots of very cute sea otters.
The footage and pictures at the end are from the Margarie Glacier. At the base of the glacier the ice stands 200’ tall. Shocking!
@ one point the video scrolls around to what looks like a large mud field - that is CANADA. So it basically dead ends into Canada.
The Encore did several 360’s there to allow all sides to see the magnificent glacier first hand.
Alaska remains on our bucket list and I will certainly return to Glacier Bay National Park. 10 our 10 and a must do for everyone.
