Nice, I would buy one. The 1095 is always a great survival knife option for its versatility in hardness / toughness, if the heat treat is done well it will take a good grain and be very sharpenable. Plus I always love an American made knife!
Very nice blade. Need one of these for sure. The only thing I'd like to see if a kydex sheath. It's just my preference, but I know they are catering for a specific type of person and those people typically prefer a soft sheath, or at least that's what I've seen
I think it's odd that such a rugged knife made to be used outdoors relies on a handle material as slippery and smooth as zytel. I would definitely like to see at least an aftermarket set of micarta scales if not a complete stock handle material change. Not to say that zytel is inferior but I prefer something with more texture and purchase. Great review to say the least. May be picking up one and starting a little handle scale making project. (:
kewl knife, I'd buy one if it did have the specified flat grind, but I dont like hollow grind as it makes the edge to weak, I would of swopped those zytel handels for wood handle instead tho, but thats easely done seen as the handle scales are hold in place with 2 screws
This knife is really interesting, but after seeing one failure it had in a video I think due to the shape it may be better and more resilient the BK9 or BK7.
I carry the Piggyback (your Caping Knife ;) ) As an EDC pocket knife xD Been used to the point where I've already broken part of the tip off of it and sorta dented the edge. But Still going strong.
So the sheath has a plastic insert... if it's to keep moisture at bay, what happens when water gets in the insert? There is no drainage. The scales look cheap and slippery. Otherwise the blade looks functional.
I've owned ths knife for almost a year. Its is a great knife, but the sheath and the "piggy back" are horrible products, they're just ineffective and pointless. Also the handles sub-pr, very slippery with wet/sweaty hands, but work well enough with gloves on. I am an amature sheath maker, so I made an ok kydex sheath and litterally threw away the piggy back. But I've no experience in handle making, I wish karbar would make a different handle. The knfe is a good useful tool though.
I have used it a lot, and it shows. It's just nice to see how good it looks out of the box

Nice job spotting the flaw on the website saying it's flat ground. I thought something was up with that.

A better finger grove, some gimping, and better handle with a kdex would make this a great knife.
It is not about blade strength it's about how flexible and how good it keeps an edge but it also needs to me hade like harden spring steel
Old version is hollow grind new version is flat grind, some of the old chipped

The plastic insert keeps the blade dry if the outside of the sheath gets wet. If the inside of the insert gets wet then you need to dry it out.
Its a shame the knife is hollow ground. I would have been upset if I was expecting a flat ground and a hollow shows up. Thanks for the heads up!

That's "shoelace" not paracord dude. lol..
Depends, what are you going to be using either for?
The Johnson adventure line looks suspiciously looked like the zombie killers line replaced the black and neon green with tan and brown
It's cool to see what my knife used to look like... lol
That is one, HELL of a knife!
Love your vids, Bob! But I just have to know... is 1095 CroVan very tough? :)
which would you suggest for a bug out bag knife the pestilence chopper or potbelly?
Knivestown. I'm gonna get a map and go there.

Yeah, I guess I said it 2 or 3 times. Sometimes I get carried away. :)

cool knife man, loved the review!
I can just see your finger running up on the blade if god forbid you accidentally or deliberately stab anything.ouch Bad handle design
Bob's laugh at 11:43 tho xD

You can say 'literature.' We all love it. ;)

Watched tactical break one in 30 seconds. Think I'll pass on this one.
Saw that also, think he gave it a quick jerk then snapped [IMBW]I've had no problems with it.Shot scales, I wear gloves when using it .
Hate the sheath. Weakest aspect of Kabar products. First thing I would do is cut away that worthless pocket.
Pointed cleaver!
