America was not 50 states at independence,it was sixteen States that voluntary agree to unite and after independence other states voluntary agree to join the union on different years to make America 50 states.
Ghana the first sub Saharan Africa country to gain independence was not meant to be an island of independent country in black Africa,it was the colonial masters pilot program to see how the black man would manage his own affairs.
After independence if nkrumah had not taken confrontational path against the West who provided him with education and focused on using ghana resources to develop ghana,but rather negotiate with the West to free the rest of Africa,his government would not have been overthrown and he would have the political stability to develop ghana.
