- hi guys !
we are back with another youtube video and this week is about why I love to highlight, how neo-classical pantings give me inspiration for this look, and a sneak peak into my office. Don't worry I'll give you guys a tour in a couple of weeks ;)
Let me know how you re-create this look. I love to see how you guys add your touch of je ne sais quoi !!
Makeup Used:
Concealer: Juvia's place in shade 18
Blush: RMS Beauty
Brushes: Specturm x Katie Jane Hughes
Highlight Balm: "La Rosée" Poppy Savage collection for Estee Lauder
Highlight Pigment: Makeup Forever
Your philosophy is so pure and true. Your uncomplicated approach is very rare on UA-cam. ❤
@@oginza good points!!
Yes very rare!
You talking about liking some facial asymmetry made me feel so much better
You look really beautiful:)
@@SugarPlumFairy9 awe thank you :) so kind!
I was going to comment the same thing! Violette made me feel so much better
You're the first person I've heard compare concealer/highlight etc. to art and that really connected the dots for me. The best!!
“I got you guys.” 👀👀 est-ce que?? Are you coming out with your own line??
yeah wtf was that??? loooool. maybe a re-release??
She said something about a lab sample. Then she said the goal was to make a hybrid product between the two that she used!!!! 🤞
Probably she's releasing the combo product she said she wanted through her latest Estee Lauder collection
u guessed it 😉
Been a subscriber for years but this is my favorite content from you right here.
I'm tired of the baking, drag contouring, heavy brows, overdrawn lips and not seeing any real skin texture - live and let live, but this is so much more refreshing and interesting. I hope to see more beauty influencers with more unique features, enhancing what they've got instead of a copy-paste.
I loved your thoughts in the beginning of the video! So important to be said out loud that makeup is a way of expression and we should learn to love ourselves ❤️
I love watching you for a lot of reasons, but especially when you show us how you fuse art and makeup. So interesting. Thank you! 🌿🌷
Do you have any ideia of how much I love your channel and work? You are like THE ONE make up artist that I could identify myself with, the way you do make up it's the only I feel comfortable with, thank you!
colorful highlight in the inner corner is a good idea! Tried with this iridescent blue/purple pigment by stila and pink gloss on the lips - its an easy high impact look(:
Loved this video ! Embracing your imperfections and being more comfortable and loving it😍
Love the tip for how to highlight for more of a natural glow 🙌
Really loved this video, I was missing something longer and more tecnical like that. My skin is a lot like yours, very dry and has shadows in the same places (but I'm very fair and blue/pink toned) so this works perfectly for me. The only problem is that pandemic made me so so pale that all my concelears are looking a bit dark haha
Love your earring (and your fresh natural make-up, of course)
Love your philosophy about make-up and looking forward to your newsletter every Sunday ❤️
I love this type of video... it's so helpful to hear your philosophy behind the makeup, and then see it in action. Please do more like this!!!!
Love these highlighting tips! Do you have any tips for covering blemishes that still leaves the skin looking very natural and not covered in makeup? Thanks :)
For a solution with makeup, search "Lisa Eldridge pinpoint concealing", it's great.
But in line with what Violette said maybe we should get used to be comfortable not covering imperfections like blemishes😅
And the best solution is to get rid of blemishes themselves, more skincare and less makeup... But that's slow
When I have a pimple, I leave it bare. I find that everytime I put makeup on it it looks crusty or bad. When its a mark then I cover it
@@Evitta22 Thank you for the video suggestion - I love Lisa Eldridge! I agree with trying to be more comfortable with blemishes, but in the meantime...
I have watched so many other UA-camr’s tutorials and I think this was the most helpful video I’ve ever watched! You explained everything so well that I was like 🤯 oh that’s why! The art references were very impactful in the explanation too. Thank you Violette & team
Can you do a fashion/shopping video? Your style is so simplistic and pretty.
Hellooo :)!! I love love your makeup philosophy.....and how i wish i can apply makeup with my hands......but i have chronic sweaty palms and brushes are my rescue!
Thank you for this love of the asymmetrical! I love how you say with such conviction.."I KNOW you are born perfect" ... i felt that..Bien Merci!💞💞💞
Hi! Violette, thanks! I would like you to talk about how to choose the right concealer for your skin. I always feel that after applying it, those areas are even more remarkable, and don't understand how to make it look natural. Obviously, I am not good at choosing the right kind of product. But maybe you can provide us with some insights that would help!
thanks a lot!
LOVED this video so so much! Please do more of these kinds of technique videos. I would also love to see more videos on choosing the right colors for your skin tone.
I have learned so many beauty secrets and techniques from you! You are so real, chic and effortless in everything you do! ✨ ♥️
Where is that nail color from? 😍😍 I’m obsessed
this is such a great technique!! i tried this morning and i absolutely love❣️ ty for sharing with us, Violette🌹
Can't wait to see what you are developing 🥰
I love your top - who makes it? Also, any new collections coming out?
I was really happy when I found your videos and you're working totally without powder, which is *amazing* for me, not just because my skin can be a little dry, but also because I have lots of little hairs all over my face (I think it's pretty common) and you can't see them at all, then when I would put powder on, suddenly it's like I have a fluffy face!! And that actually made me self-conscious, which I'm not without makeup, so now I definitely enjoy doing my makeup more sans powder!
I literally shave my face to get rid of peach fuzz and little hairs.
Violette you are a so positive person! Your videos are inspiring! Imperfections are beautiful!!!!!! My regards from Greece with love🇬🇷👍
...god those KJH brushes look amazing
I love your videos! Its like an escape for me!
Keep up the classy content.
Can we get hair tutorial bc your hair is amazing! It’s soooo effortless and cute! Love your style violette!
Simple and ceative! Love your tips and videos! ❤
I loved this video because I felt like I got to see more of your beautiful personality. I also completely agree about contouring...I feel like women over conceal their skin, and thus contouring arose to compensate for all that flattening. Thank you! ;)
This was my most favourite video from you in the recent times!
Always so lovely videos :). And where are those trouser from? They are amazing.
Love longer videos wish you would do more blogs and a week of outfits you are inspiring
Love love loved this!!!!!
Thank you for talking about this! I resonate so much with it but I definitely have a crutch as you say and that’s my winged liner- It’s become my staple. However contour etc is something I do not do as I think natural skin is beautiful. I hope your video on this will go viral as I see so many young girls (no more than 15) with full heavy contour and they have such beautiful faces and skin already. I feel this trend needs to die immediately.
Violette, please add a link for the newsletter subscription in your description box. Thanks! Love your videos. ❤️
I love your brushes
Someone please tell me where she got her earrings from!! I love 😍
where are your earrings from?? Love!
J'aime, j'aime, j'aime beaucoup! I am following you for years and I love your content, you talking and showing the real beauty! By the way may I ask, where is your top from? What brand or do you maybe have a link? 😊
I love those earrings too!
the earring is amazing
Hi Violette ! Merci !
where is your top from ?? it looks so good on you ❤
I'm a beginner mua in Argentina and in my academy, they have that same philosphy and being creative and innovative at the same time, and i'll stick to that. When I found Violette by chance and I watched when she's using only concealer while having sth strong in her eyes, I said, "she thinks like me" .
I use a subtle “ golden brown “ to do soft contour, but only to raise the features, since I have killer cheekbones , but I have a full and round face , so I like to thin the jawline and the nose . My nose is a little broad , so I contour a little. It’s what I am comfortable with. It should be up to the person on how they feel about themselves, and if they want to “ mimic “ a different shape . Everyone is different. I do like highlighting , I might actually try this idea tomorrow, just for fun .
More useful videos like this thank you. I love you
Love your nail colour. Please could you advise me what it is ?
💓💓💓
Those KJH brushes OOF
Where can I subscribe to the newsletter ?!? 💖
Beautiful! Thank you.
I think i have a new favorite UA-camr
Are you wearing any make up, cc cream or something like that? Thanks
Thanks beautiful lady, you're such a lovely, genuine lady 💕 💕 💕 any tips for very red cheeks?
Whenever I put concealer under my eyes it just makes them so much smaller, it's like it isn't my face anymore... Can't figure out what to do with that :( Big hug, Violette, you are the inspiration we need in life
maybe try a beige in the waterline to define, brighten and open your eyes? :)
Where are your earrings from??
Beccajewellery UK !
Magnifique 😍
How does one sign up for your newsletter?
Coucou toujours au top ! Petite question au calme, as-tu des origines coréennes ? A bientôt
Je pense qu’elle a des origines arabes.
How can someone sign up for your newsletter, Violette?
Yay!💕💕💕💕💕
A-ma-zing!!!
how do we get your newsletter?
What is the painting called? 4:09
🥰
@violette_fr
your videos make my days lighter. Happy day
are you coming with your own line?
So funny how Violette wanted to say “crutch” but kept saying “crotch” 😂😂😂
I think This is not only referring to the skin, but also to one’s body and life.. you Can play and tweek, but one does not have to be This or that. Because i am me and there is enough of other person in the world.
I have seen a few of your videos but only subscribed after this one because of what you said in it essentially, I think that the contouring phenomenon is toxic and makes young people dislike their features. What you advocate is enhancing and embracing our features .
💓🌺👍😘j
Your videos are wonderful and very interesting but it would be easier watching them with Greek subtitles.
How to not be insecure about a short flat nose, round face with flat facial features - it me!
I see ....you are all about wabi sabi
Hey! What’s your Instagram account?
The outfit is weird and vulgar
Then stop watching...
It is not
It's the buttons. I can't believe no one in her office said anything. I'd fire them all and hire me. I would have made sure the top was ok.
@@denyablanco2753 maybe that's what she was going for?
Really? That’s all you focused on ? .. Ok well , I am a working Mother and I have rushed to work with my cardigan inside out , shirt undone , you name it . When I was weaning my breasts were leaking milk during a meeting.. I think she looked really damned good for a new Mother 👌🏻 ... You know what some people are just unkind some people are unkind because they are unhappy and depressed. Talk to someone and take care if it is the latter
Love your philosophy Violette.
As a 62 yo woman it really helps me to not obsess over the ageing process and trying to look younger, younger, younger⭐️🙏🏻❤️
EDIT- I think a hybrid of the two highlight products would be Westman Atelier Lit.
Linda joy I love that you are a part of this community. ♥️
I never contour my face, either! Just highlight my cheeks and brow bones... Because I don't want to create something I don't have, but just enhance what I have already! 😊
You are really pretty 🥰
I look forward to your videos all the time. You brighten my day🌹
aw ! thank you
I bought my first mascara after watching your videos in my 32th year. Yes you are my favourite artist. You are my girl crush 😍 love you violette 😀❤🥰love all the way from India 🇮🇳😘
Amen! Amen! Amen! It’s so refreshing to see someone who didn’t jump on the contouring/Insta-makeup trend.
This was interesting Violette and you look gorgeous! I do the opposite of what you did: I don't highlight, but I contour. It's because I have oily skin so my whole face is "highlighted" naturally hahaha... Do you think it still fits in your philosophy? You bring light, I bring shadow.
You are exquisite, effortless and talented. Love these sit down with a cuppa tea and philosophy chats 💓🫖
I'm in love with that jacket! Does anyone know where it's from?!
Where can i sign up for your newsletter ???
I believe the website is violettefr.com
Hi Violette! How can I sign up for your newsletter! I’m excited! ❤️
I think I signed up from her instagram
I just loooooove the reasoning behind it and the link to neoclassicisim! Translating a major art movement into a practical makeup technique is just wow 💜💜💜💜💜
I would love to hear more about how Violette's background in art factors into her makeup philosophy! 💌
I am glad I came across your channel a couple of weeks ago. Your philosophy made me realise that I truly did not enjoy wearing too much makeup on my face. I have super oily skin and large pores and scars and I actually realised I do not like much product on my oily skin. I tried your tip about applying concealer only to the areas I need (I actually prefer my dark circles since it gives that smoky shadows to my protruding eyes). Post that, it's blush, lipstick and my gel eyeliner/kohl.
Thank you for boosting my own beliefs! ❤️
LOVE that earring! Does anyone know what the brand is?

@@alessiaorlacchio5190 Much thanks!
Loving your way of seeing beauty...!!
Love this! But can you show on a model who has some redness on her cheeks how you would put makeup on? I want to use your approach to make up but since I got some redness it usually ends up with me covering the whole face...🤷🏽♀️
I have some pretty good redness in my cheeks and nose. What I do is a little concealer under my eyes ( I bring it out towards my hairline because of redness and veins) and a tiny bit around my nose. I'll blend very lightly towards my cheeks. Skipping blush for a clear highlight balm like she shows here is a great way to use the redness to your advantage. Sometimes I dab a little concealer on my jawline if I'm very red that day. One thing to consider is if you're doing your makeup right after a shower, doing your hair with heat tools, or waking up. Many people tend to be pinker at those times than the rest of the day. Regardless, bet you're beautiful!
@@hannahb3786 Thank you so much! I will try this ❤ And you are right, sometimes I am more pink depending what I have been doing earlier and it usually calms down 😊
I know I’m off the topic but where is the top you are wearing from?
Makes sense. That dewy, halo look is achieved with placement and moisture. It really is like layering an oil paint. I certainly cannot afford the same products you are able to work with, but as a portrait artist, I can certainly use these techniques with the best I can afford or whatever I have on hand. I love that you shared your process! Thank you. And thank you for encouraging us all to embrace the God given features we have been born with, which is truly beautiful. ♥️
Your philosophy of makeup is brilliant and a fresh breeze in the middle of a hot summer.
