The best rendition I've ever heard. Writing from sri Lanka. I had the privilege to meet Brian Doerksen in 2015 and to call him a friend. I write songs myself and this one has been on my lips during many storms as well as many times i rocked my sons to sleep as babies.

My rock. The God of Jacob came to him in a dream when he fled from Esau, his brother. Jacob anointed the rock he used for a pillow when he woke up (Genesis 28): "8 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it. 19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the Lord be my God:
22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee."
Since then, God's strength, presence and deliverance is typified by alluding to the ROCK, our rock of ages. God is faithful, He was faithful to Jacob, in spite of all his failings, He picks us up when we fall down. Amen! .

I hope you're safe, beloved one. I am so sorry for what you & your countrymen are having to survive. I pray for all Russian believers, as well. The Lord Jesus Christ told us these things must take place during the End Times. I realize you probably already know this:: Matthew 24 verse 6 *"And you will hear of wars, and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled;* for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7) *For nation* (literally ethnos/ethnic) *shall rise against nation,* and kingdom against kingdom..." I want to encourage you that I think *we might be close to seeing Jesus' return,* especially with what's going on in Israel now. Please know that I'll *be praying for your safety!* ❤ *I love you in Christ Jesus. Shalom*
