Wow, what a beauty. Love that red case. You've really got something special there, especially with that Japanese operation manual and the funky pillow speaker.
I had one of those pillow speakers when I was a kid- must have come with my dad's wood cased Digimatic flip clock. I used it with my portable cassette recorder- listened to the Star Trek episodes that I audio recorded through it while I was supposed to be going to sleep.
That is cool. They’re hard to find these days. I was stoked to get the one I have as it appears unused and in perfect condition. Used to love Star Trek reruns on our 3 station TV back in the day.
hi i have the same sony but i have a problem. His watch stopped working, so I tried to open it, but the old owner ruined the main screw and now I can't open it. Do you need any special screwdrivers? Or is the vine really ruined? If it was ruined in your opinion how could I take it away? Thank you
I would try different sized screw drivers first. Apply firm downward pressure as you unscrew. If that didn't work I would VERY CAREFULLY drill that screw head out of there. I'd get it out.
@@Flipclockfans hello, thanks for the reply, unfortunately I tried with various screwdriver sizes, but maybe I ended up ruining the screw head. As you can see this screw is very far and difficult to reach and honestly I have not found a solution yet. Maybe I'll try with a screwdriver and a very thin and long drill bit. But I can't even find a suitable one, in your opinion that you have more experience which tip should I use, maybe you can indicate me one on amazon or ebay? Thank you so much for your kindness
hello, I finally managed to remove the screw with the drill. With a few drops of oil the engine started running again and now everything works fine! Thank you so much for your help
Hello, this radio clock so beautiful. I have a Sony 8FC-59F. But it have some problem with its radio. When I turn the radio on, the voice so small. Even I turn sound value to 10. How can I fix it? Thank you.
Very nice. In the US I believe those were the Digimatic 8FC-69. Believe it or not, they came out after the 8FC-59. The wooden ones seem so retro. In Newpaper ads they call those their "Deluxe" models and they almost always came with a pillow speaker.
@@Flipclockfans on the plastic screen under the digits says : SONY FM/AM SOLID STATE DIGIMATIC.. I remember I buyed this radio clock in the main flea market of Barcelona, in 1994. Then I was only 16.
@@Flipclockfans It was because I falled in love with the Panasonic that appears in Back to the Future part one, that I saw for first time in 1987, and I remembered it in 1994 😍

Nice history! Thx
Very nice! Thanks for showing it to us.
I read Japanese and the bottom actually says Caution to prevent electrical shock do not remove. No serviceable parts inside
interesting. The part with the numbers gives instructions on how to set the alarm.

You'll need to spray some contact cleaner on the volume control - you need to take the clock apart to do this.
@@Flipclockfans OK, I'll try it. Thank you.
I have this radio clock but mine has a real wooden external case.
