A testament to a great confident vocalist
Not afraid, incapable. These guys have gotten better if anything has changed at all.
its not that they're scared. most artists CANT perform live in the same key that the rsong is recorded in

After 30 years, Doug Rob still has the same outstanding, clear, and powerful voice. Impressive.
I'm ashamed to say that I recently came across this song and I've been listening to it every day for the last couple of weeks. It just reminds me of being young around the turn of the millennium, feeling immortal, hanging out with friends and never thinking about growing old.
I was 32 turning 33 when this song was released. I thought I was old then lol.
Boy I can relate.
Little did I know how life goes SOOOO fast. I guess its a way of teaching us lessons we didn't even know needed.

Why should you be ashamed listening to music, that's near to your heart and in this case is even considered good music :). Music can give you and trigger something, that nothing else can. This song especially just screams nostalgia :)
Don't Ned to be ashamed

Not sure what's more painful to realize: the fact that I wanna go back to the 2000s or that I am getting old.
Ritu Giri i know it’s painful, but it’s helpful to remind yourself that it happens to everybody, and everybody alive today are all going to get older together
I do the same for the 90s or the late 80s....its crazy
We all want to go back to those days. But we know that we can't.. but instead of wishing for those days back, we should be living each day we have to the fullest. No matter how tough or unreasonable the day is.

''The idea is not to live forever but to create something that will"
And The Reason will live forever
The Reason is such an iconic song. It's one of those songs songwriters wish they have written. It's that magic moment that doesn't happen very often. The song's message is about redeeming yourself and trying to be a better person. It's very relatable and sincere. As an artist, if you're sincere about your work, people will resonate with it. They can feel what you feel.
Mantap bu
The same thing it is a curse when it's the only thing people know they sang.
I mean the song has a pretty simple melody along with simple lyrics.
It’s a good song, but I wouldn’t go out and say it’s something artists wish they wrote.
You have to remember this was like Hoobastank’s one hit wonder. They didn’t change the face of the music industry.
Look at a band like Nirvana and what they were capable of doing in less than a decade. Kurt’s songwriting had really dark and raw meanings to it. Sure the melodies were simple too, but it was so different that it completely destroyed 80s glam metal and ushered in the new genre of grunge.
Coldplay is another band that was very popular during the time of Hoobastank and they too have written a lot of “magic moment” songs that have influenced a lot of bands, especially on their first 3 albums.
I just feel like you really like this song a lot and are making some bold assumptions toward a band that hasn’t had a history of being iconic except for 1 song.
Adam way to shit on it all, Adam. I bet you don’t have a hit song. Let people enjoy shit.
I can listen to this over and over again. His voice is great!
