These videos are amazing. Both popovici and cielo on the podcast is unbelievable, and to here inside their minds is great too.
If you ever did competitive sports and/or 110% commited to something in your life, there's no way you didn't cry watching this. To understand the focus, the sacrifice.. Big respect for Cesar, legend! Lenda!
This was not just exceptional...it was extraordinary. Just an insanely layered, insightful, emotional, honest conversation. Thanks to both of you for pulling back the curtain. Incredible.
I can't even describe how much this interview kicks the shit out of other swimming content out there from this coach's perspective. Unbelievable work! My top age groupers will be listening to Cielo describe his obsession with details today
Not sure why I am so invested in this, BUT I AM!!! Can't wait!!
This was the best episode ever! Emotional, intense, inspiring and historical. Took me 3 days to finish it but totally worth it. Cesar speaks a loooot :)
What a brilliant interview. Two legends once again make swimming history. Cheers
such a pleasure to live in your era. tks cielo and brett for everything you ve done for BR
If we have access to content like this we would never stop swimming in poor country of Georgia, where pools were shut for 3 month in winter, when I was a kid 17 years ago. Thank you Brett!
I thought it was the best podcast on UA-cam (even though I may be partial as a swimmer). The energy you two have is beyond textbook.
< 20.91 is still going to be a daunting task
You are right Brett, absolutely right! People don't understand César Cielo's mentality. I certainly didn't understand it before listenning to this podcast! The guy is such a mental GIANT, it's absolutely ridiculous! His mindset reminds a lot of another Brazilian GREAT, Ayrton Senna, specially after hearing César talk about leaving a legacy for Brazilian Swimming and Brazilian Sports in general at 2:27:46. Congratulations for everything you and César achieved together and the people you've inspired, also congrats to David Popovici for taking it to the next level and THANK YOU for this amazing podcast (not only this episode!), so many things to learn, not only for swimmers (I'm not even one), but to take into every day life! Cheers man! 🥳🥂
Has a brazilian and swimmimg fan, i pretty proud to have one of us has one of the greattest swimmers of all time. Cesar is different. You can see it from he speaking about how he built himself throw the years. Congrats Brett: has a Coach and a host to this guy you are has great has him. Looking foward to the next.
Thank you Brett and Cesar for the 2.5 hours of pure gold!
When I rewatched all Cesar's finals at the Olympics or the Worlds after hearing the podcast, all his visceral scream of joy, water-thrashing and tears of joy become so much more meaningful and touching.
It's very inspiring to everyone from all walks of life!
Cielo and David. So similar in mindset. Therefore you were so impressed with David’s thinking. It was a “deja vu”. Thank you for this awesome, extraordinary interview. Loved every second.
Anyone else watched the whole 2:39:25?
Very proud of Cielo! I hope one day we will have a brazilian swimmer at his level. Extraordinary podcast, Hawke!! 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Duuude, I'm not even a swimming fan but I can't get enough of these podcasts, please keep doing what u doing
@@InsidewithBrettHawke bringing in the crowd, Coach. Good stuff. This interview is fantastic.
I've been waiting to hear you and cesar talk I've only seen him talking to other people
You guys have tremendous history together and I love that
Not to mention I love long podcasts it helps me get thru my days at work I'm rewatching it after I did yesterday
Thanks to both of you for the candid, educational, and inspiring discussion! Beautiful.
Brett and Cesar thanks for sharing this with us, it was so amazing, insightful and emotional. You two are extraordinary! Can't wait for the next!
Thank you Brett: you were mostly responsible for the growth of Cesão into a grown man and athlete! Another great interview. Cesão wasn't very good with dealing with losses - you taught him the winning mindset. He was so talented. And he was always a cry baby.
Great friendly Interview and with a lot of Humor!
Very moving as a genuine dialogue. ❤Comtent wise absolutely helpful for me as a person and a coach on some other endeavor. Greatly appreciate it and wish you both the best in life!
This is a work of art, one of the best pods I have ever heard.
This is for sure one of the best interviews of all time. Great job brett!
Being grateful for this! Thanks!
Thanks Brett and Cesar for sharing these memories with us. This is one of the best podcasts I've ever listened to, it's very insightful, emotional and full of life lessons not just for swimming.
Keep it up Brett you're the best.
Incredible Brett - thank you to you and Caesar for such a candid insight; fascinating, inspiring and emotional. Every teenager in the world who aspires to be extraordinary should watch this!
Worth the wait! Was wondering where your podcast was when swimswam came out with their piece before yours!! Then boom this one drops in and it's 2 hrs 39 mins!!! It had to be special, I knew!
Thank you Brett for bringing Cesar Cielo into yur podcast! Even if i don't swimm Cesar is an ispiration for me ! Thank you for your effort Brett in bringing us some huge legends and great human beeings!
I am not a swimmer but this podcast thought me great lessons! Mission accomplished Cielo!
Best podcast I didn’t know how close Brett and Cesar was
It's strange Cielo doesn't get the credit he deserves in being one of the all time greatest sprinters.
Im so excited!!!
Super pumped to listen to this episode! Hopefully you’ll get to cover other topics besides Popovici’s stellar performance and predictions for Peru champs.
Good deal! From a single interview w/ Cesar I’ve watched in past, he appears to have a very strong personality with a highly positive attitude and true passion for what he does. My 13 y.o. looks up to him and dreams of making the same impact in the world of swimming.
Thanks Brett for all the informative, insightful content you have been putting out there!
Best podcast so far! Amazing insight
@@InsidewithBrettHawke I really liked his "I'm the best" outlook.
I think a lot of people confuse this with being cocky.
The important difference is that this is not about disrespecting others and their abilities but rather respecting your own abilities and acknowledging that you are competent and able to be the best.
I also really enjoyed the bit about the training he did with Fred - I can't even imagine the the level to which they pushed themselves in training. I think having another top freestyler to always compare to was the difference between him and his competition. I think having that clear feedback from training with Fred allowed him to more accurately pinpoint his weakest and strongest areas and allowed him to progress with way more ease.
Amazing cast mate!
Thanks 😊 Cesar is here
Two words: fucking awesome!👏🏻👏🏻
Greetings from greece
The picture you've sent to him. It was zlatan ibrahimovic, wasn't he?🤣
Crazy to think that at the time of the 50 final in 2009, Auburn had the 3 fastest swimmers ever, and by the end of the superstition era, 1,2,4
he was caught on doping
Why is he not on drugs? Most Romanian cyclists are suspect!
We are in a new generation of sponsored drug taking where athletes wouldn't even know they were on them!
When Brette started choking up about getting a speedo suit for Cesar, I legit cried. I thought, sjoe, this guy really loves Cesar. The love and respect Cesar and Brett have is pure. What a moment in swimming history. This podcast is so great for swimming. It's a blessing. Keep it up! Love from South Africa.
❤️ thank you 🙏🏻
No, thank YOU!
