I am always about knowing all you can about the tools that you have over just buying the next shiny thing that comes along. Still use my GH4 on the regular.
GH5 is very stable, can shoot long videos with no problem in 4K60, doesn't overheat, has the best IBIS, is very sharp, has VLOG flat profile, has 10 bit, full size HDMI port, has cheaper lenses and tons of options, has better battery life than other brands, good handling and grip, has a flip screen...Yes, other cameras are better in low light, autofocus and depth of field but that's it. I choose to work around these 3 cons to get all the other features. This camera is still a beast in 2022!
GH5 was a camera before its time where everyone else played catch up and now rave about all these "new features" we have had for years for a lot less cost. If Panasonic could get better low light and serviceable autofocus, it would be the PERFECT camera for a lot of us. I hope the GH6 has improved low lighting from the GH5S. And one thing I love is my GH5/GH4 has NEVER overheated.
100% agree. Still an awesome camera and if they could sort out the obvious failings it could well be the best prosumer camera on the market. Hopefully the GH6 will be the game changer, we shall see I guess? I also have never once had an issue with overheating, just doesn’t happen! 👍🏻

Such a great camera - I just tested the IBIS against the A7IV and it beats it easily unless the A7iv is using digital stab.
Still a powerhouse of a camera for sure! That IBIS still blows my mind!

If you like the GH4 then do it for sure, the GH5 is a great camera still 👍🏻
Do you think prices of gh5 will drop in stores once gh6 comes? I know used ones will drop but im really wondering if prices in stores will drop
They are already quite cheap so not sure how much lower they will drop but I would have thought they’d drop a bit 👍🏻

In 2023 do you still feel the same about the GH5, and did you purchase the GH6? I have a gh5 and a s5 by the way.
