Stevie went to church in this performance 💙💙💙💙🎙️🎶
R.I.P. (REST IN PARADISE) Michael Henderson.
July 7, 1951 - July 19, 2022
LEGEND R&B SOUL SINGER BASSIST.
🙏🏽😎🤍🕊
Get down Stevie Wonder. This performance was excellent. The beautiful ladies and gentlemen. R.I.P to the legendary Mr. Michael Henderson. ❤❤😅
Love how the backing band all have this "just another day at the job" expression...
Came here for Michaels bass playing!
A classic Stevie Wonder moment with Michael Henderson on the bass. These cats are cool.😎
YES
Is that Michael Henderson in the white pants. I'm going to miss him.
Mr micheal henderson your music gave everyone Including myself so much joy I pray you are in the upper parts of heaven
You know, people think that Stevie can see! He can't but you could not tell by this amazing performance!
Michael Henderson ..R.I.P. 🎸 🎶
His voice was silk. Such a natural.
This is pure singing. Stevie and his background singers look good.
Stevie is a LEGEND👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Look at Stevie !
I was 10years old & man, was this song a smoker!!! Great memories!
Stevie went Church on us. Great performance. Background singers, exquisitely harmonizing and literally following all of Stevie's moves. The consistency of Mike's bass and the drums locked in a solid tight rhythm accompanied Stevie's style as it kept him on course and in control.
Stevie was getting groove on
That was a rock em’ sock em’ live performance by the best in the business! Magic Mike is now in the great big band in heaven. Thank you for giving us so many of your masterpieces to cherish forever. 10,000 standing ovations for the forever great Michael Henderson!
👏🏿🎼👏🏿🎶👏🏿♥️🙏🏿
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Fantastic backing vocals!!!!!!!
Lil Stevie had to get up to jam with those fine sisters doing background
Micheal Henderson bass player died 71 RIP 💅💯🦋music will miss you.💓🤟
RIP Michael Henderson
Michael Henderson may he rest in perfect peace.😪👍💯
This is obviously a live performance, but where are the horn sounds coming from? I don't recall Dick Cavett having a studio band, but maybe he did.
They KILT this performance!❤️
That's gospel at double time. Funkin it hard on bass. Uh!!
Fantastic! Thanks for posting
Absolutely Solid Baby
IMO Michael (One of the best Bassist) and the other Guitarist only look stiff as a board because if you notice, they're standing on tables that don't look sturdy. They were all jamming. Ah, the good ol' days of LIVE performances and MUSIC with vulgar free lyrics and beautiful soul sisters "sangin' in the background!" Stevie is the 8th Wonder of the World, a Masterclass performance as usual.
This was a hellava performance!!!
#wow
Wishing Michael well and a quick recovery, from London I first picked up on your music as a teenage DJ in 1975. Solid remains one of my favourite albums, would love to see you come visit London... hell you can even look us up, we own a small venue in Hackney
Michael, You were in fact one of the Funk Brothers. If James Jameson doesn't make the date, my understanding is that you did on numerous occasions. I had the pleasure of meeting you in San Francisco at the intimidate setting of the Keystone Corner in North Beach. You and the group of Detroit players were outstanding, you just killed it on the Alex Ax bass!! On the studio date with the Dramatics, who was your lead guitarist /soloist and other players on Thank You for Your Love? I met Rudy Robinson, Rod Lumpkin,Mr Chandler and I can't recall some of the other players, but had seen them also working with Earl Klugh. You and Ray Parker jr lit it up again at the Oakland Museum, On the Green Festival.Roberta Flack and you gave us, At The Concert with Patrice Rushen and an All Star band.
The background singers sounds and looks great 💯
Here I Am!!!!!!
I wish the recorded version was this funky.
Real talent singing live sounds just like the record!
I had the honor of meeting Mr Henderson. A very nice and genuine guy. God gave him the gift of expressing himself & influencing others through music. RIP Mr Henderson!
Black backup babes...the secret sauce in sweet soul music. "Saanng it Guurrllls"!
Rest easy Brother
The Wide Receiver!! I will miss him. Guys, that's Erma Franklin on the end next to Steveland!!!!
@najwa deckard someone else says the women in black are Sundray Tucker and Lynda Lawrence
such a long time ago...I remember when they were all that young omg
what a killer performance
I wish they would've given each band player a close up when the funk was heavy I loved this
Before Deniece Williams.
I didn’t realize the brother had passed away until I came to this video. He died a month after my initial comment it seems, a day after my birthday. RIP to a legend.
CLAVINET C !!!!! The funkiest !
Stone cold classic, Mike!
Love your performance and cool demeanour, Michael. You must have been dancing on the inside! Nice groove.
Mr. Henderson was just a baby!
The backup singers are so pretty.
Hand picked by Stevie.
Sure you right, especially the one in the middle.
@@LeonardCrassman Why is that noteworthy, everyone handpicks their backup singers?
@@stonedog23 whoosh
@@SongmanKK one on on the right for me!!
I’m just glad she grabbed Stevie ☺️
That was his point of reference.
Look at my baby Micheal playing. I love it
William " Bootsy " Collins , has his story , and so does Micheal " The Bass Ballader " Henderson .
Yeah, Michael was as good as any of them other cats.
We go Church.
Love this thank you so much for sharing it!! But around 3 minutes and 2 seconds I had an Eddie Murphy sighting LOL.
Oh yes!!!!
I love it!
Love this song. Is he still making Music.
When artists could cut it live on TV- NO LIP SYNC
superb!!
Back when a gold record was quite a feat, now people talk about how many times platinum something was xD
Singing no lip syncing
A slappin’ live performance! 🔥🔥🔥
I notice Sundray Tucker. Who are the other backing vocalists?
Both my aunts Sundray Tucker and Lynda Lawrence in black Terri Hendricks in red..RIP Michael Henderson
@@kevinjames6261 Thanks Kevin. Yes I notice Lynda after I wrote this originally. 🤗
Yes. Sad to hear Michael did not recover from his illness. 😔
For a second I thought this was Eddie Murphy doing Stevie..Loll
1:50 the singers all having the time of their lives and the drummer is thinking about those leftover ribs he has at home
Wow I didn't know that comedian Wanda Sykes was a backup singer for Stevie Wonder.
Considering the fact that this performance was from the year 1970, and Wanda Sykes was born in 1964 and would have been 6 years old at the time, she and her parents didn't know it either. Now, which one of the three backup singers is she❓ 🤔 👀🤣. Signed, Sealed, Delivered (I'm Yours) was the first single Stevie Wonder produced on his own, and was the first to feature his female backup singing group composed of Lynda Tucker Laurence, (who later became a member of The Supremes), Syreeta Wright (who also co-wrote the song and later married Stevie Wonder), and Venetta Fields.
@@itsjustme5196 Wanda is the third one nearest to Stevie. How could you not recognize her ?? You are more blind than Stevie.
@@___Will__Ferrell The back ground singer's name is Lynda Tucker Laurence.🥱 Take a look: ua-cam.com/video/fJ0_KksdNQA/v-deo.html
@@itsjustme5196 No it's Wanda Sykes. Get your facts straight. I'm not clicking any link you leave when I know Wanda !!
@It's Just Me @Kevin James says “Both my aunts Sundray Tucker and Lynda Lawrence in black Terri Hendricks in red’

Execs didn't want you or the guitarist to move your legs huh?Nice job anyway!
That wasn’t Michael Henderson on bass though! 🙄
vaxxident
Michael and the guitar player are not actually playing. Look at there right hand compared to the left. It's pre recorded or something. Probably why they look so gloom, can't wait to get the check and leave.
They definitely are
@@thatbassist2181 Nope!~ 😎
@@MichaelHendersonmusic Whaaaat? I stand corrected
We are actually playing!~ 😎 Stevie Wonder flew musicians all over the world, he would never hire musicians to "Fake It!" #TheReal
@@thatbassist2181 It's all good!~
Drummer is the weakest link in this performance. Beat too flimsy, like he doesnt really know the song
