WOW!!! Al this is the video that breaks the internet! God's Acres! You certainly caught everyone totally off guard with this announcement for sure! Congratulations on finding your families Paradise here on earth! Such a diverse landscape and I look forward to following this new adventure! To watch you as a family growing and to see Miss Olivia turn into a young woman and onto her own projects. I can't even imagine finding 500 acres of pure bliss and blessings. Wow what a great purchase. I have a 50 acre tree farm that is a xcountry ski resort. We get 150 inches of snow a year and our driveway is a half mile long. So we have a beautiful tractor with a snowblower that I just attached.
Looks great. When I bought my farm and was exploring it I used google maps and put flags in with labels as I walked. That way I could see the satellite view and where I had been and what I found in each place. I used labels like creek crossing, large oak etc. I was trying to pattern deer movement but you could use to plan the farm. Congratulations.
If you go with selling some of the timber off of it, get a timber agent. They will make sure those who cut the property only take the right trees, don't leave a mess, and get the most dollar for your large trees. Troy at Red Tool House farm has a video on how he did it with his 200 acres and had it pay for over half of the cost that he paid for his land. Congrats on the purchase, and carry some protection from bears and other predators in that much property.
Brad Wilson I believe Al already went thru the timbering of his property now so I'm sure he knows what's up. You can go back and see the videos of his land being timbered.

It is so rewarding to see you grow!!! Grow in all senses, as a family, as individuals and now as owners of an amazing property. Cannot wait to see all the unbelievable things you will do, the fun, the work and the happiness of it all. BRAVO!!!
Al, Be prepared to deal with local trespassers who will think that it's been abandoned land that they have been hunting and fishing for a long time, so that makes it their land..... I have been through this with land that I inherited that was unused by my family for quite a few years. I had some trouble with the locals. I hope my warning is unfounded and you have no issues!!!! Congrats on the new property.
Yes I was thinking same thing. Perfect land to get away for the weekend. Camping, fishing, hiking, hunting. Im sure someone has used it. Hope that doesn't end up being too big if an issue
Yes invest in No Trespassing Signs and many many other things. I would be sure to wear hunting vests at least for a while. Always better to be safe than sorry!
Post your property and paint a marker blaze on the tree too all over the property line. That’s your property, do t let others poach and steal from you.
Al, remind me never to play poker with you. How you managed to keep this quiet while still building the equipment shed is beyond me. A lifetime of projects now. Don't let it overwhelm you and Good Luck.
I’m so happy for you guys 🎉🥳. Also since people aren’t used to you guys being on the property, I’m glad Olivia has her orange beanie in hunting seasons. She could probably get a whole orange outfit
Congratulations on getting this property! I'm seeing a trespassing nightmare though. I have 70 acres and can't keep poachers/trespassers off my property. I can only imagine the task expanded to 500 acres! Names: "Heaven's Landing", "Lumnah Acres" (why change a good thing!), "Beavers-Are-Us!😂", "Blessed Acres", "BrookLand (Brooklyn)". You've got several years worth of Christmas trees there for sure. A tip would be to build your house as close to a healthy spring as you can. My house is right next to one of our springs and friends come all the time to take some of the water. The water has been supplying a house since at least 1900 and it is pure as God made it. We get about 6 gallons a minute. On our property you can hear trucks engine breaking on the road but the house is about 1200' from the road and what you do hear all over the property is our stream. When we get heavy rain you can hear boulders crashing down it. It roars like a freight train. You might want to look into some software that can help you map out your land and plan the layout. I found this one (www.agriwebb.com/au/features/farm-mapping-software/) but there are many more. Blessings to all.
Congrats, beavers can cause "damage" to our best laid plans, however, their industry is unparalleled, as well as their ability to create a dought proof water way system which in turn brings in additional wildlife etc.
Beavers dam where they hear water, it's the sound of falls that attract them. There is a company that produces a "dampener" for culverts which reduce the sound so beavers aren't tempted to block them up. This new property will be endless years of free Christmas trees. Great news and so happy for you.
This is a forever piece of property. Generations will look at the work you've done and hopefully see these videos. It will require a lot of blood, sweat, and tears but I think you're cut out for it. Best of luck bud.

Good morning!!! The new adventures are endless! It’s a “Peaceful Frontier” for sure! M so excited for your family and all of who get to watch the transformation!!
Congratulations. A delve into the county records would be interesting may reveal original owners/ farmers. Also if they was an original homestead and cemetery on the property.
HOLY SMOKES! My jaw, literally, dropped when I heard what you had done. 500 acres?!!! I never dreamed that what you had been hinting at would be anything of this magnitude. God has surely blessed you. It's just beautiful. I can't imagine how excited you are about this land parcel. Your own Garden of Eden, huh? Blessings.
Beautiful land, just take care of your backs. I did alot of that stuff and I've had five back surgeries and the last one damaged my legs. Take care of your bodies.👷♂️👷♀️👩🎤
I'm going to have to find the video, but there's a short documentary on the use of brook sounds to get beavers to move to other areas. It's a cool technique, and given how beavers can help you maintain your land should they be in the right area, will be useful to you in the future.
Al my wife and I live in a small town in NM and unfortunately we can't do much anymore but I want to tell you that I truly appreciate the efforts you put in to making your dreams come true. Keep up the good work and exciting videos.
Congratulations Lumnah's! How exciting. I will miss seeing the beautiful little farm. You are taking on a huge project but your young enough and determined enough to do it!!. Good for you! I'm very excited to see this journey. Thanks for including us.
Sounds like you will have quite a few different farms all on this one property. A name that came to mind since you said you felt at peace there was, "Serenity Farms". Congratulations on your new homestead. I wish you guys all the best!
Just wanted to say, I am so happy for you guys'! This property is absolutely beautiful. My name suggestion is; Lumnah's Frontier Simply because it will be a very long and arduous journey for you as a family, and I can't wait to see the story of this property unfold before my eyes, it's going to be amazing.
Congratulations! It's a gorgeous piece of property. The roads looked to be in good shape, so it doesn't appear that the beaver's activities have been too much of an issue. I'd recommend contacting your state's DNR and getting their input on beaver management. Eliminating them could create more problems than you'd be solving.
When you said “next big project” - you weren’t fibbing. I gather that this land is fairly close to you and ponder its shape. Maybe a hand drawn map with a few dimensions. Your could add in the road, ponds, pasture sites and potential house sites. We would love to know this and if you updated it as time went on, you would have documented your journey .
If they keep 90% land as forest and log the old trees and plant new ones , its manageable. But the plans of pasture , cows, goats , maple sugar just Al and Gina cannot manage it as the scale of operation will be lot bigger. Its better to rent out the land or do JV deal . That way you can use it more productively and have extra hands and eyes to help you out if needed.
I generally avoid reading the comments but scanned them this morning. As usual there is a mix of cheerful greetings from around world, well wishes, thoughtful suggestions and the smattering of know it alls, the jealous, the (f)armchair quarterbacks and assumption makers. I for one know nothing about Al, Gina and Olivia other than the 20 or so edited minutes of their lives that I watch was most mornings. I enjoy their content most mornings while I have my coffee, especially the building projects. I appreciate that they take the time to make and share their videos that allow me to "homestead" vicariously through them. Thanks.
Well this is great! When you said you had a project coming that was 10 times bigger, I couldn't think of what in the world that would be. I'm happy you found it and I'm looking forward to following along!
I will echo that!! WOW, WOW, WOW I am so pleased for you and your family. I cannot wait to see how you change it to your requirements. May our God and Saviour continue to bless you and prosper you greatly. Plans, do they include getting rid of the existing home property?
This is so awesome! I am playing catch up on you guys as been in recovery mode from car accident and then having a second concussion. Your lamb looks like it's so beautiful you guys deserve this all. It is going to be so much fun to see what you do with it all
Amazing!! Clearly I wasn’t thinking big enough when I was trying to guess your next BIG project! I’m so excited for you guys and to watch you develop your dream on this beautiful land. Congratulations!!!!
Congratulations on your new place 🙂 A while back I saw a documentary where they had beaver issues (it might have been Canada) at a national park and how they were able to sort of "train" them to put their dams in beneficial spot's instead damming up the culverts and messing up the road ways. It was pretty cool.
Cool ...along the lines of what I was thinking... The Refuge ...or The Lumnah Refuge ...refuge, retreat ...sounds like good descriptions. :) I know that whatever they name it, it will be fitting and beautiful. Praying God guides them to the perfect name. :)

Put a PVC Fire Department Hook up pipe into those ponds. In case of a fire, a truck could easily suck from the ponds to fill up it 750 gallon tank or feed the pump.
@@kenknutson1598 Just putting a pipe there doesn't do anything. A pipe would need to be a large volume of water coming out of the pipe. The output of water is solely dependant on the pressure to the pipe at that point in the waterline. The more pressure, the more water the pipe can output.
THE PVC PIPE required is a very large diameter....equal in size to the draft hose and the pipe has a filter screen and a quick connection like a fire hydrant would have. Check out require specs at you local fire department.
Congratulations! You all deserve this. What a project this is going to be. I can't wait to see what you do with all that land. I promise I won't miss an episode.
So very excited for you all! I just watched a PBS Nature program called "Leave it to Beavers" and the state parks had the same issue. They put smaller culverts on the bottom and let the beaver build on top. The water can flow quietly and the beaver don't hear the flow so win-win. Hope this helps.
I'm guessing you only took this place on so Al gets to play with more Big boys toys. The little compact tractor is no match for 500 Acres. Looking forward to all the videos in the future.

It is so rewarding to see you grow!!! Grow in all senses, as a family, as individuals and now as owners of an amazing property. Cannot wait to see all the unbelievable things you will do, the fun, the work and the happiness of it all. BRAVO!!!
I knew it!!! I told my hubby that you all were getting a bigger property! We are so excited for your family! Your new property is Gorgeous! 🎊🎉🎊🎉
Al,
Be prepared to deal with local trespassers who will think that it's been abandoned land that they have been hunting and fishing for a long time, so that makes it their land.....
Yeah, I’d introduce myself to the game warden, he knows who hunts your land.
I hate no trespassing signs..its what city folk post..most country folk will ask permission to hunt on the land...stop putting up those damn signs
Post your property and paint a marker blaze on the tree too all over the property line. That’s your property, do t let others poach and steal from you.
You are both sooo blessed to be owners of such a beautiful property. 🧡
One good thing about beaver dams is that they keep the water on your land, well at least slow it down.
I like Lumnah’s Frontier for a name.
Al, remind me never to play poker with you. How you managed to keep this quiet while still building the equipment shed is beyond me. A lifetime of projects now. Don't let it overwhelm you and Good Luck.
wow, all those trees, i see a sawmill and related heavy duty equipment in the very near future. congratulations, you are truly blessed!
That's probably the most interesting thing I've read today. How cool. As destructive as they are, everyone loves a beaver 😉
I just learned something off a youtube comment. A first. Thanks
This is a forever piece of property. Generations will look at the work you've done and hopefully see these videos. It will require a lot of blood, sweat, and tears but I think you're cut out for it. Best of luck bud.
I'm happy for you guys being able to fulfill your dreams. Stay healthy.
cONGRATULAITIONS iS IT CLOSE TO WHERE YOU LIVE NOW?It is no doubt in my mind thaat you will make this land to the prfekt property. So happy for you. And you are correct now is the time to buy property. And to develope it.
Something tells me your subscriber count is about to blow up. This is so fantastic, so happy for you and can't wait for this adventure.
Congratulations on the new property. I am new to this channel but am now looking forward to seeing what you and your family will do with all the blessing you have here.
This is so cool! I am super excited for you guys.
Hey, Gold Shaw Farm, I follow your channel too!
Hello from the UK. 1st time I have written in but have been following you for nearly 3yrs. I have always loved wood & you are so clever. If I had been a Male I would have been a Craftsman Carpenter. Not allowed back then so I love to watch others.🤔💕💕 Wow, that is a lot of property to manage. How are you going to manage Trespassers? WISHING YOU ALL the very best you are going to have to keep so Fit 💪💪💪😊😊😊😊
The property looks great! Lots of possibilities. Unless I missed it, where is it located?
You could lay traps to help manage the beaver's. That land would be great for snowmobile and ATV trails.🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦🦦
Really enjoy your adventures. God bless you on this new one.
Congratulations ! look forward to taking this jury with you. After seeing what you two have accomplished at your present property, I can't wait to see what you will do here.
How about Sugar Bush Acres for a name?
Good morning!!!
The new adventures are endless!
It’s a “Peaceful Frontier” for sure!
M so excited for your family and all of who get to watch the transformation!!
What a beautiful place! You guys are so blessed! We’ll be watching your progress and living the dream with you!
Congratulations. A delve into the county records would be interesting may reveal original owners/ farmers. Also if they was an original homestead and cemetery on the property.
What a wonderful blessing! This " Lumnah Legacy Acres" will be in your family for many generations to come! ❤📿🙏
i love this name.
Perfect name
HOLY SMOKES! My jaw, literally, dropped when I heard what you had done. 500 acres?!!! I never dreamed that what you had been hinting at would be anything of this magnitude. God has surely blessed you. It's just beautiful. I can't imagine how excited you are about this land parcel. Your own Garden of Eden, huh? Blessings.
I am super envious, Move slowly When picking a place to build your buildings until you know where the water is seasonally Don't wanna get flooded out
I'm almost 64 years old grandma.. You've just given me a reason to live to 100!!
I'm 58, and I couldn't agree more! :-)
I am 60 and am alive and well full of energy to sit back, relax and watch the Lumanh build hahaha
Nicely put ! I agree 100%
I agree
Beautiful land, just take care of your backs. I did alot of that stuff and I've had five back surgeries and the last one damaged my legs. Take care of your bodies.👷♂️👷♀️👩🎤
I'm going to have to find the video, but there's a short documentary on the use of brook sounds to get beavers to move to other areas. It's a cool technique, and given how beavers can help you maintain your land should they be in the right area, will be useful to you in the future.
Pete Marchetto Yes, I was thinking of the same documentary. But I couldn’t remember where I saw it either.
Pete Marchetto Found it It was on Nature ‘ Leave It To Beavers Season 32 episode 11
I’m wanting to do the same with my family. I’ve had it with “modern” life and always being busy. Kudos, land looks great!
You are going to require a staff to maintain such a property with the improvements you described. Don't forget to put in some B&B cabins.
Right! Because we will all want to come visit.
Congratulations on the new project
Sounds like you will have quite a few different farms all on this one property. A name that came to mind since you said you felt at peace there was, "Serenity Farms". Congratulations on your new homestead. I wish you guys all the best!
Serenity might not be adequate when managing 500 acres
Just wanted to say, I am so happy for you guys'! This property is absolutely beautiful.
My name suggestion is; Lumnah's Frontier
Simply because it will be a very long and arduous journey for you as a family, and I can't wait to see the story of this property unfold before my eyes, it's going to be amazing.
That tanker truck is a old Mack fram with a excavator cab to drive in that would be cool to put back together
Might sell it to someone to restore.
Good morning Lumnah's! Congratulations on the new property can't wait to see that property come to life ❤️ it's going to be beautiful!
Get you a couple horses so you can get everywhere in your property, not to mention riding is fun
That way you can use it more productively and have extra
hands and eyes to help you out if needed.
@@davelawson2564 stoney ridge is a good example that it can be done alone.
@Gao Bizi What is Stoney Ridge?
@@wendyfromny6890 Stoney Ridge Farm u tube. A great channel.
@peter howarth Thanks! I’ll check it out!!!
I am so glad to get in on your first things on your new land. Will watch you religiously LETS GO . THIS WILL BE GREAT.
Actually said 100 times bigger!
@@tonygrimes13 Well, he wasn't lying was he! I'm looking forward to the journey...
It is going to be so much fun to see what you do with it all
Al : "We will never run out of things to do now."
Everyone else : "Huh? Which video is when there weren't things to do?"
Huge congrats to your family.
Congratulations, so excited for you all, love all your video's here in the UK xxx
Amazing!! Clearly I wasn’t thinking big enough when I was trying to guess your next BIG project! I’m so excited for you guys and to watch you develop your dream on this beautiful land. Congratulations!!!!
Lol don't think any of us were...so exciting
Congratulations! Can’t wait to see you transform this property over the next few years. I think Lumnah Acres would still fit there!
Call it Lumnah Acres Phase 2 Or Sugar Bush Ranch.
Congratulations on your new place 🙂 A while back I saw a documentary where they had beaver issues (it might have been Canada) at a national park and how they were able to sort of "train" them to put their dams in beneficial spot's instead damming up the culverts and messing up the road ways. It was pretty cool.
You found the "Lumnah Retreat". Congratulations.
Cool ...along the lines of what I was thinking... The Refuge ...or The Lumnah Refuge ...refuge, retreat ...sounds like good descriptions. :) I know that whatever they name it, it will be fitting and beautiful. Praying God guides them to the perfect name. :)
Looks as if it’s gonna be time to think about hiring a farmhand in the future!! How far away is the new parcel of land from the homestead!
I am so excited for y’all and this is going to be a great watching y’all make it awesome place for the little lady to grow up thanks for the opportunity to see y’all grow
So excited for you! This is so wonderful for a beautiful family like you! Feeling God’s peace is confirmation!!!
Can’t wait for years of adventures with you guys. Congratulations!
Have enjoyed you from Arizona since you bought little Hope.
😃 I don't know how you guys can sleep with all the planning, anticipation, excitement, adrenaline, and creative juices flowing!!! WOW!!!
This is so exciting! I'm so happy for you guys, congratulations!
😉
who needs sleep?!?! 😂
@@LumnahAcres People who use power tools, a tip from a health professional.
Wow that inspection ordeal really ticked you off. You went ahead and bought New Hampshire. Guess there'll be changes in the DMV laws now.
lolol
🤣🤣🤣
LOL. God’ s blessing to your family and new project.
Super news. Congratulations 🎉 .I can't wait to see the beauty you create.
Put a PVC Fire Department Hook up pipe into those ponds. In case of a fire, a truck could easily suck from the ponds to fill up it 750 gallon tank or feed the pump.
The fire department can draft from the ponds. They don't need a pipe.
@@Doc30jj easier if they don’t have to lay a drafting hose.
Thanks!
So very excited for you all! And you could never make a video too long, we'd watch for hours because there are a lot of great youtube channels out there but your family has to be the most real and authentic out of them all. We love the day to day life and humor and love we can see that is just natural to you all. We've been with you since video 1 and can't wait to follow this next amazing adventure! Congratulations!
Congratulations! And Praise the Lord! He has some wonderful things in store for you. So happy for you! When you said you had a new big project you were right.
How exciting :) Congratulations!! We have 200 acres that was pretty much untouched for 30 years too. Including the buildings. It's so much work to bring it back to life but well worth it.
Congratulations. Are you going to start building next year? Or are you going to move some of the building you have now. I didn’t catch how close to your present property
I remember watching this 3 years ago and now look where you are!
So excided for you. Watch every morning when having first cup of coffee. Looking foward to see your vision come to life. God Bless your journey.
wow..it's almost like your "own" country...success, looking forward to see how you gonna steward this
Really excited for you guys a great thing but a lot of work!! Look forward to see how you manage this farm.
Wow congrats 8 acres to 500. Beautiful Good Luck
