I have 2 neighbors that have started gardens. And I am starting with sweet potatoes and collard greens. It is mandatory that we invest in our own food supply. Now!
Last year I was trying to decide whether or not to buy fertilizer for my corn. I had just collected a truckload of mostly fresh cow/horse/goat manure. I was thinking of all that nitrogen, and decided to do an experiment. I put it in between the rows, figuring it would supply nutrients every time it rained. Had my best corn crop ever…using fresh manure.
I have only used manure this spring, and we’ve had our best crops ever. Just weighed a 4.12lb cabbage. I don’t think I’ll ever turn back from the manure!
i love experimenting with natural things, i keep rabbits , chickens and worms i raise under my rabbit coops. great stuff. ive never used fresh chicken manure but ill give it a wirl here in NC my corn plots are just about where you say to hit em. ill keep u posted
Throw it to it! Just make sure you’ve got a lot of rain and or water behind it. Awesome job on the rabbits too! Keep me posted!! Good luck and keep on gardening! 😁
Thanks for the info. Ive been nervous to go quite as hard as you did with chicken manure. Ive been using broken down mulch the chickens have been on with good success this season. I dumped a bunch of it in the compost bin and have the largest pumpkin leaves growing from it ive ever seen. Looking forward to pushing a bit more aggressively and less external inputs
the only thing i will say is good for you, but dirt is dead and blows away in the wind soil is alive and stays where you put it (lol) don't give up on the fungus its slow but it will pay big dividends in the long run. you're woods compost will hold excess water and help with run off try some manure and compost in a bucket of water and spray it on you're plants or just pore it around them for a quick feed.like you did with you're duck water great idea by the way. i don't have ducks just chickens
you might want to take this down i don't know how you feel about other you tubers but this girl dose a lot of what you do but she has been doing it for ten years thought you might get a few ideas from her posts Anne of all Trades she lives in Tenn.

We call it dirt down here in Alabama. If I talked about soil constantly, people think that I just specifically mean potting mix.
