If you are more into mobile videography, go for s23 Ultra. But if you are more into photography, s22 Ultra pictures including night mode pictures are much better than s23 Ultra. I own an s22 Ultra and recently got an s23 Ultra too. After doing image and video comparison, I found s22 Ultra images are less grainy, sharper (less sharp after April update), more clear, basically overall better than s23 Ultra. In s23 Ultra colours are accurate, but only for skin tones, sky and reds. The videos are definitely better than s22 Ultra. Surprisingly, shadow areas are grainier in pictures, but video of the same shadow areas has no grains in videos of s23 Ultra. After the April update, selfie video quality has improved a lot in s22 Ultra. So, overall the s22 Ultra is more stable in terms of camera performance. Another huge problem in s23 Ultra is off-axis colour shifting of the screen. Just put 2 icons - one at top and another one at bottom - of the same application on Home Screen, you will see the difference in the colour of both icons. Run a white screen test video from UA-cam and look at it from different angles. The colour shifting is too high. If you do the same test on s22 Ultra, you won't see any colour shifting unless you are viewing at almost 180 degrees. Other problems observed are washed out colours on screen, network issues, call drops and slow Wi-Fi. It's surprising that none of the reviews of s23 Ultra on UA-cam mentioned these issues. Upgrading to s23 Ultra from s22 Ultra is a waste of money unless you are more into mobile videography. I tested Super 16, Filmic Pro, Motion Cam Pro on both s22 Ultra and s23 Ultra. Videos of s23 Ultra were definitely better than s22 Ultra's videos but hardly 10 percent. But if you do post-processing of any kind, then there is no point to go for s23 Ultra even for videography.
Wow... nice breakdown I will just stick with my S22 ultra. My only issue with it is that the battery doesn't really last long. But thank God I bought a fast chargimg baseus PowerBank, so I don't have any issues here.

So, in terms of clearity of the pictures, 30x or above is good in day light or let's say if day is sunny. If it's cloudy or evening or in night, 30x and above pictures are not usable. Of course, if just 10x is used, anytime of the day, pictures are usable.

How much better is the battery life compared to the LG V60? On heavy use my S22 Ultra can only do about 5-6 hours at 80% brightness, at FHD+ 60Hz I get about an extra 30 minutes. My V60 can do 9-10 hours which is still awesome. This is where knowledge comes in and things that meet the eye may not be coreecr. The samsung s23 ultra drops down to 24hz when not being that alone makes the display better imo. Most content is 24p like movies etc so its smart and if it calls foe higher fps it will do it. Its also going to do 120hz when you are using it. Its a more effecient phone in all situations. The s23 ultra is better with games and anything thats actually going to be demanding. Its better at rendering, has faster ram and its just the best android phone ever made. Imo the cameea is better on the s23 ultra and the settings help it out more. Its raw mode is also so damn good I love that since the hardware is so good. The difference is the s23 is using extra processing but you can absolutely change settings and make it all your own. It works better with said settings changed also. They also tried making it more natural because the biggest complaint was that colors were to saturated on all past samsung phones. So you may like the more saturated images and richer skin tones but thats not mroe accurate. You may think it makes you look better but im sry you dont look like shiny dark chocolate nobody does lol.
very nice review, i got the s22 ultra exynos 2200 at launch at 1st it was a bit buggy but now its on android 13 and one ui 5.1 a year on it has improved vastly i get a day of moderate use. as to upgrade or not i see no reason to having paid outright for the 1TB version i cannot justify spending 3k on 2 mobiles in 2 years. save a grand and bag the s22 it has 4 years of updates and is still up near the top of the high end handset tree, personnely i will wait for at least another 2 years and wait for whatever samsung do with a s25 ultra.. tech moves so fast my wallet cant keep up! the front camera on the s22 is clearly better for video or selfies..

At the moment, both smartphones are priced the same at N950,000 and that doesn't make any sense. That is if you are buying from a Samsung authorized store. I guess they are doing this to make people buy the S23 Ultra as it is the latest smartphone.

When you based the s22 ultra glass better based and a little scratch not knowing the difference you lost me there man. The new victus 2 is actually easier to scratch but harder to Crack so its not a gimmick.

based on your pictures, theres a difference between 40mp and 12 mp..40mp has more details..the 12mp has brighter photos..
