    Lyrics:
    I’ve been through a lot
But not a lot of this one thing
Chance took me by surprise, but surprise!
Somehow I came out like a diamond ring
And this is what you told me!!
    Don’t fear a little failure
    Grind through all the helter-skelter
Get up everyday and feel grateful
Then tomorrow do it even better
As the days untie the hours fly
Feels like life is flying by
It’s a brave new world only a mother could love
This is what you told me of!
    Don’t fear a little failure
    Grind through all the helter-skelter
Get up everyday and feel grateful
Then tomorrow do it even better
    Even better
    Some chances that we take
Don’t work out like we planned them
    But looking back I see
    Life always seemed so random
    We hold a common thread
You’ve seen it with your own eyes
I heard the words you said
Why does the balance seem so hard to find?
    Don’t fear a little failure
    Grind through all the helter-skelter
Get up everyday and feel grateful
Then tomorrow do it even better
    Cause you shine, you shine
    You shine under pressure
    You shine, you shine
    You shine under pressure
    You shine, you shine
    You shine under pressure
    You shine
    You shine under pressure

This was my whole youth, walking into music stores, checking out what's new, like the Fred Meyer new spin bin, and discovering bands like Creed, Godsmack, and Staind for example. Love this!!!

There was a time from age 11-15 all we did on weekends was drive to the original Guitar Center in San Jose ... the one that had 3 stories high walls of guitars... we would look at that gear and go home and play MXPX and BLINK 182 on our horrible music equipment ...

You know the ol don’t judge a book by its cover figure of speech? I feel like it’s non applicable to Mxpx because at 12, when I saw the Life In General cover art, I had no idea what they were about to sound like but I was already sold purely on imagery.
Like Green Day, blink-182, rancid, less than Jake etc etc, Mxpx’s actual audible personality (music lol) matched and then somehow exceeded/brought to life that image.
Weird take, I know. However I don’t know that I’d have become such a massive fan without the concept that this video more or less embodies.
