Yea after I downloaded Axe edit ur right its pretty quick & easy & a lot better than squinting @ the unit mashing buttons not mention how much fun it is exploring tone searching
Jason Dorne, not sure exactly what you're seeing, but it's not slow at all. This isn't a standalone program, it's connected to the Axe via Usb at all times and queries the machine for information, so sometimes it has to communicate but when I click to add anything it's almost instantaneous. Don't be confused when a block is empty and outlined that it's doing anything, it's not. I've just highlighted that block but not added or engaged anything yet. Maybe there's some lag/glitching on your connection, i don't know? I did rewatch and didn't see what you are referring to. Thanks for watching, though! Take care!
great info here . im new to axe so help me out here. you can parallel the delay to the reverb right? also i would like to know how you can set outputs so one block goes to frfr cabs and the other block goes to a tube amp input with maybe just a drive pedal for the tube amp.
That's a pretty complicated answer. You'd have to split your signal and run a dedicated line for the tube amp, then insert an fx send block at the end of that chain to send the signal to the amp. As for parallel fx, it's almost unlimited where you can place them, and you do have pan control if you are running stereo.
harvey5869 If i remember correctly I was running out of one of the XLR outs into a usb presonus interface. Thanks for watching, and don't be on the fence, it's an amazing unit!!
how do you know where to put the affects, notice some are before the amp and after cab, is there a general rule of thumb where they should be placed thanks.
just experience with them and amps in real life. I know I like any gain based before and any time based after. there are exceptions but that' my general rule.
Awesome video! In having a little trouble with dialing in my tone though...I've inserted a Tone Match block from one of my bands songs to capture the heads we used in the studio but it sounds like a line 6 spyder preset Lol any advice?
I wish!! Nah, that's the beginning of a tune by a great new band called Sleepwave, you should check them out. Killer album! (if you are a fan of or knew Underoath, it's their lead singers (Spencer Chamberlain) new band)
Hey, I've just picked up a FX8 and love it!!! I've programmed in a killer preset and done the first scene with the edit software.... The problem i'm having is that i can't send it to the FX8!!! When deleting the fx when i first started writing the scene all the fx disappeared off the LED screen, (8 boxes) which is great!!! BUT... When i went to hit "Save" nothing happened on the FX8!!! The name of the Preset changed but all 8 of the LED are just blank boxes!! i'm connected via a usb and it says connected on the edit software... Is there something i've missed? Please help!!!

Awesome tutorial. I'm on the fence about getting one of these. How did you hook this unit up for this video?

is the software for the axe a recording software as well?
no, for editing only. have to use a DAW to record with.
hi, I'm kinda new to this... how do you open an empty grid on the axe edit?
Just need a blank preset
is there blank grids to build on from scratch or do you have to delete presets? and if there is blank grids where do I find them?
how do you Get a blank grid, mine are full of effects
have to start with an empty preset.
how do I get a blank user preset, ?????
Just go to the preset menu at the top and select "clear preset"

can't be of much help, I don't like using tone-match. too many great amps in there for me to try and copy something else
is that your demo in the begining?
