I studied piano at a classical music institute for 7 years. I tried this game when it first came out, and I can tell you, it’s a game changer! For those who are just starting out, you can definitely learn on your own. For more advanced pieces, it might require knowledge beyond the game, but it’s truly an incredible tool!! I had forgotten how fun it was, need to try it again! :D Great video! Edit: Btw, you're doing great with the piano! Keep it up! 🙌
Sadly: It was a good app, but now they put everything behind a paywall, a monthly subscription on top of the app purchase. It was all included, song and features. But now they put everything behind a paywall everybody is requesting a refund. Not worth a monthly subscription. This is just milking customers. The appr reviews in the store speak for themselves. its gone down from 5 till 1
Oh wow, thank you so much for this! I played this last year and loved it but got bored with the songs. So nice to see that they've updated the music! I can't wait to try it again!
I grabbed The Nektar SE61 as well, its perfect for this app the only bad part was I had to buy myself MIDI to USB C cable because it came with a USB A cable instead. Other than that it was plug and play
Amazing! I did buy the app last year but the new cables etc and keyboard are still up in my loft so after watching this video it refreshed my interest i will have to get this setup asap when i get home from xmas break😁👍
Hey Bejamin Button. You've inspred me to give this a go. I currently only have the Quest 2 but hopefully it will still work well. Plus, I can finally get some use out of my electric grand piano. Watch this space.
Hmmm, I'm not convinced about the improvements they have made, the key tracking keeps moving whilst your playing and I preferred the way it showed you how to do the fingering before the upgrade. Additionally the hand tracking on the quest appears to be worse and now :(
It seems to be great. I have buy it too but I don’t if it will work with my keyboard because I have an Akai MPK 61 with 61 touches instead of 88. But I will try 😊 thank you for your video
Great review! Was already interested in the Quest 3 but this may have convinced me 😊 And you played one of my favourites, To Zanarkand! Is it safe to assume there is more game music in this app? And what headstrap are you using? Thank you and Merry Christmas 🎄🎅
Bonjour, and please excuse my poor English. Do you think possible de play a duet using the VR. For example, my grand daughter with the VR playing the primo part while me playing the secundo part ? All the best !
Hi! There used to be a multilayer mode which is temporarily removed while the developers are working on improving it, but once it’s brought back to the app, then yes, you and your daughter will be able to duet in VR using PianoVision!
Almost any midi to USB-C interface cable will work. There are different midi connection types however, depending on your keyboard. Some look like a "printer cable" connection, others use a Midi in/midi out serial connection (2 round multi-pin plugs. Got mine off Amazon. Hope this helps
I wouldn't call $320 dollars balling money. Lol. You can get the newest Quest S for $300, and the PianoVison app is only $10. After tax, you're looking at $330. If you get the subscription, which has 10,000 additional songs added to the existing library of songs, it's only $9.99 a month. It is very cheap for what you're getting with the headset, especially taking into account that there's an absolute ton of games and much much more to do on the Quest other than PianoVision. Also, not to mention a ton of free games and apps that are free to use.
The update is great, but I think it's excessive to pay $9 a month to get the songs. The songs that come are good but they are few and everyone has their own taste. I think it's ridiculous to pay 9 euros a month to have all the songs. I don't know if a one-time payment of 15 or 20 is possible, but not monthly.
yes, some simple ones for sure! Harder ones take more time and practice, looping feature helps, but I enjoy even just being able to play them whenever I want :)
you should mention that this game was one purchase only and you get everything now to get everything you need to BUY additional subscription, the previous version was way better because you have a progression feeling now this app is empty made to make moneyy. This was great app now it is kind of shi***
The Disappointing thing about Pianovision is that they don't actually teach you music. It doesn't teach you how to read the sheet music and that means that without the headset on you're totally lost because in real life the keys don't light up and the upcoming notes don't appear in mid air for you. And memorizing the entire keystrokes of a song is quite a task.
@@NukeMarine Ultimately if you want to learn to play piano you're going to have to learn to read sheet music. I'm just disappointed that Pianovision does not go further to teach you the basics, like reading sheet music.
@@RobertA-hq3vz I'm assuming you're trolling since it's pointed out in the video and again by me that there's a sheet music option in the program. It highlights the notes on the page and shows you the key on the piano. Those can also be turned off to really test your ability.
@@NukeMarine Yes, there's sheet music. I saw it. But since I don't know how to read sheet music they're just pretty patterns to me. What I would have liked to see is actual tutorials on what they mean and how to read them. So that the program teaches you how to play piano, and not just teaches you how to memorize the keys strokes of a song.
New update ruined the app. Tons of free features from V1 are now behind a paywall, all favorited songs were unfavorited, and the UI is honestly bad. And of course the unprecedented subscription system. So long, Pianovision

Thanks so much!! Pinning your comment because it’s awesome 😻

Just got a Quest 3 & have had a piano sitting there I wanted to learn, thanks for the review!

You had me at “…Star Wars”
Haha awesome! 😎👏
Thank you for sharing the update!
I own the app but wasnt too happy with the songs. Love it!
Gonna try now!
Where did you get your midis?
61 Nektar keyboard on the way. Hopefully, my daughter will enjoy PianoVision.

It’s so much fun!
I can’t wait to try these updates!

When is the update dropping? Oh its a $9.99 USD addon
This is a lot of fun. My left is not capable of doing the chords part lol. So I stay with a guitar.
Must have app this
Looks really cool‼What are your thoughts on MR coloring apps on the Quest3?
I bought my Quest 3 for this, it was worth every penny.
It seems to be great. I have buy it too but I don’t if it will work with my keyboard because I have an Akai MPK 61 with 61 touches instead of 88. But I will try 😊 thank you for your video
You had me at “air piano”

I actually uploaded my own MIDI to play this song! 🥹
Im a drummer but it sure would be nice to play the piano. Or maybe we can have a Disco VR concerto sometime in the near future???? 🏆
There is a drum game like this. Im new so I dont know the name Im sorry but I think its in the quest app store now.
now with this many songs in the app I can play anything you want haha!
Smash Drums is one which is more like Rock Band but it's incredible. Double as a good workout because you'll be sweating lol
@ Yes, I think I have it-Air drums
Paradiddle is the drum app! :)
Would love it for Guitar and Drums.
Paradiddle for drums is really good
Ah! probably won't work well or at all on my now obsolete Quest2
it will! My very first video on PianoVision was recorded on Quest 2! - ua-cam.com/video/ssgBEOxOzJw/v-deo.html

@@DiscoVRTetiana Merci pour votre réponse !
Are there any apps where you can sit at your piano and play as part of an orchestra in VR?
not yet, but man that would be a cool update to Piano Vision!
Hey, great update! Do you recommend any specific wire for connection to Quest 3 and keyboard?

The subscription is too much. Wish there was only one single payment. Any alternatives without subscription?
Yes you can use it without subscription, there are 100s of free songs there!
@@DiscoVRTetiana
there used to be over 1000 songs to play now the good one are on the subscription side of the app "PAY TO PLAY"
You can also add your own midi files!
What are the mods you have on the top of your headset?
why only for quest? WE NEED THIS ON STEAM
Heck You've have to be balling with money to buy the VR headset and all that stuff

yes, some simple ones for sure! Harder ones take more time and practice, looping feature helps, but I enjoy even just being able to play them whenever I want :)
i’m not seeing it give hand positions and thus the fingerings. that’s crucial for piano. what gives?
13 Days, Lol!
(Time I Got Here)
I know, I'm thinking about piano now too LOL
I prefer the old version of pianovision and need to find a way of reinstalling that version! Any one else think the same?
Uploaded 22 seconds ago! Damn, i'm early
haha I like it! Early joiners get cookies 🍪 I mean comments 😁
@DiscoVRTetiana yaaaay early Christmas cookies!
Why my piano vision looks so bad and i dont have playlist like that? i mean mine looks pretty sht
Looks interesting, but I noticed a lot of 1 star reviews. I might give it a shot. The concept seems good, but implementation seems sloppy

Ідеально. 1. Естетично. 2. Привабливо. 3. Стримано. 4. Морально. 5. По-домашньому тепло. 6. Ура, можна Бітлз! 7. Ура, можна що завгодно. 8. Маю досвід особисто, тому щиро раджу, рекомендую, жодних сумнівів, не пошкодуєте❤
So gonna get this, so I can hang with my virtuoso 11yr old daughter.
It's unfortunate there is a subscription paywall. i would much rather buy song packs once , not subscribe.
Can you play Christian songs on it?
You should flag these kind of videos as paid commercials.
do not get this app if you don't have a physical or digital piano, using the virtual piano will make you hate your life
They took away multi-player and environments?..NOT cool P.V.!😢
