Cowboy Kent. Once again, YOU have shown why you are the "Universal Southwest Chef ". Now I know you don't take kind to the term chef however when you cook for a multitude of people you are by definition a chef. I watched your previous video on Huevos Rancheros and then watched another well known "chef" whom cooked the same recipe and that person is an exceptional cook but your recipe IS the most original. Only by a man who knows regional cuisine. You d's man Cowboy Kent. Bless you Mrs Shannon and my buddy Buddy. God bless you all. 😀
Have you tried canned cheese? Easy to can. Keeps forever. Needs no refregeration. Taste as fresh as the day you can it!!! Wash and sterlize small canning jars. Sterilize open jars in a 250° oven for 30 min. Cut cheese into squares. Pull out one hot jar at a time, and fill with your cheese cubes. Place back in hot oven and continue to fill all your hot jars one at a time. As cheese melts in the open jars add more cheese until full to the top shoulder of the jars. Debubble the jars with a clean wooden spoon handle by simply poking it to the bottom of the jar around the sides. Then place lids on each jar, finger tighten rings. Turn jars of cheese upside down on a towel overnight, covered with a towel. That's it!! Canned cheese!!!
Hi again! You said the Magic word -SOUP! No matter the heat, cold, good /bad weather, soup comes first! It could be 110 jn the shade on the farm, and we're eating soup before the main meal! Thanks C. K.

Thank you and my goodness to my friend Patrick for helping me find your tube channel. He is a good friend that lives in tehachapi California. I live in Hanford. Cabbage Soup? Add some taters and diced tomatoes and you a very traditional Basque Soup, made by the Basque Sheepherders in California and Nevada. Always with Pyrenees Sourdough Bread made by a Basque Bakery here in Bakersfield, CA.
Kent and Shannon always deliver! I am out of town right now. But I am making that Cheezy Potato Soup as soon as I get back to South Carolina this weekend!!! My family is a bunch of soup lovers! They will enjoy all of the above recipes. Thanks y'all!!
With grocery prices as high as they are in 2022, I greatly appreciate any new recipe that involves rice, beans, or potatoes. A good mix of recipes helps keep them from getting too boring.
D Patrick sorry my friend but you will find more recipes for American Shepard pie with beef than lamb and they serve it that way in many Restaurants . So argue all you want.
Cowboy Kent, just wanted to let you know. That James Brown comment made me feel so good. I actually just officially purchased your cookbook off Amazon right now!!! It's the little things that count. Thank you for sharing your time and your experience with all of us. Very much appreciated.
Jean Yeah, grandma made it with hamburger browned with an onion, cabbage, carrots, corn, potatoes in chicken stock mixed with a large can of crushed tomatoes (herbs and spices). We'd have this for dinner after a day of pheasant hunting. She was a hell of a cook, a war bride from Ireland that grandpa met in London. She was there building bombs for the R.A.F.
In my experience, if you want vegetables or herbs chopped, there’s nothing better than a beagle or old hound. They’ll chew it nice and fine, but when they realize it’s not meat they’ll spit it right out! Hahaha!
Love your recipes... I watch your videos to get new ideas & learn new skills. A special bonus is listening to your accent, it's so familar. My parents may be gone but listening to you brings me back to sitting around the table & talking about our day. My grandfather was a cowboy at the Hundred & one ranch if I have the name of the ranch right. Take good care, I look forward to many more videos
Can not wait to fix these. My wife loves potato soup and since she surprised me a bit back with your original and mesquite seasoning, I guess I'll fix that one first. Must say A+++ on the seasoning flavors. I fixed chicken two ways at a church campout, part of the chicken was just covered in seasoning and grilled; other I took and threw the chicken, seasoning, peppers, onions, and bbq sauce in my cast iron. Everyone was doing the happy dance! I use it on just about everything when I cook now.
The world needs more people like Mr Kent Rollins.

Suggestion for soup... Get the best of both worlds....Use red potatoes because they hold their shape and DON'T go to mush even if overcooked. Then add a finely chopped russet or two. The russet WILL turn to mush and thicken the soup. Win / Win !!
The same applies to baked beans... mash 1/2 of the beans and use them as a thickener.
I make a roux with the butter and then add a mix of milk and cream and then melt the cheese in it.
My thoughts also. Red potatoes are much better for boiling

Cabbage Soup? Add some taters and diced tomatoes and you a very traditional Basque Soup, made by the Basque Sheepherders in California and Nevada. Always with Pyrenees Sourdough Bread made by a Basque Bakery here in Bakersfield, CA.

With grocery prices as high as they are in 2022, I greatly appreciate any new recipe that involves rice, beans, or potatoes. A good mix of recipes helps keep them from getting too boring.
Can you do shepherd's pie next? thanks
Of course he could!
D Patrick IDK what country you live in but in this country Sheppard’s pie is made with beef too!
D Patrick sorry my friend but you will find more recipes for American Shepard pie with beef than lamb and they serve it that way in many Restaurants . So argue all you want.
My favorite is the cabbage soup. Thanks Kent.
Good eating it is

Cowboy Kent, just wanted to let you know. That James Brown comment made me feel so good. I actually just officially purchased your cookbook off Amazon right now!!! It's the little things that count. Thank you for sharing your time and your experience with all of us. Very much appreciated.
Thank you so much and I am a big fan of James Brown music, hope you enjoy the book
Add a pound of hamburger to that cabbage soup. That's how grandma made it.
I think I'd like that better than the ham.
@@MichaelRei99 To each their own. I take it that you don't care for cabbage rolls?
Jean Yeah, grandma made it with hamburger browned with an onion, cabbage, carrots, corn, potatoes in chicken stock mixed with a large can of crushed tomatoes (herbs and spices). We'd have this for dinner after a day of pheasant hunting. She was a hell of a cook, a war bride from Ireland that grandpa met in London. She was there building bombs for the R.A.F.
Those soups would be good with some homemade cornbread. Thank you Mr. Kent for those wonderful recipes.
Thanks Gregory
In my experience, if you want vegetables or herbs chopped, there’s nothing better than a beagle or old hound. They’ll chew it nice and fine, but when they realize it’s not meat they’ll spit it right out! Hahaha!
It's a three for one!!! Three recipes in one video, thanks Kent
It is bargain day
Love your recipes...
Watching this with a big bowl of homemade soup. The stars have aligned.
Glad you like ti Stephen it goes well on a lot of things
