true, but damn, it's a beautiful bike. I also don't need a Porsche to drive to the grocery store, but it's more fun and it looks and feels gorgeous. I'm not interested to race anyone or max out any stat, but i'm a tech nerd, using a bike like this with a top end groupset like the dura-ace is more fun which means i do it more often. Like in a Porsche, you can appreciate and enjoy the engineering that went into those frames and components and you can feel the difference, even if you are not even close to utilizing them to the fullest. If you got the money, why not - there are far worse ways to waste it than a beautiful piece of technology that helps keeping you fit.
For 2k I bought Giant TCR on mechanical Ulterga, plus upgraded wheels on dt swiss pr1400 for 600. As a result bike weights 7.4 kilo and cost me about 2800 with all upgrades and fit. 😊

I like your channel, and usually see most of your content, but this vid is a bit off for me. Look, when discussing this bike, it needs to start and stop with the 15k price tag. IMO, if a bike manufacturer is telling me they have to deviate from what has been consistently promoted as the fastest bikes in the peloton, yet here they are effectively saying that this new iteration is faster because it’s lighter…well, it’s just the same sit n spin advertising: lighter, stiffer, faster. And to that I have some choice words for the bike industry as a whole. For 15k, that bike should be FULLY customizable, with the absolute best of all components or accessories, including wheels at your choosing. Including paint. Factor, Trek, Orbea all offer customizable paint jobs, so if they want my to buy a Ducati without the motor, I should have a say in exactly how it looks-I should even get my name painted on it. Last thing I’ll say, and I know it sounds like I’m bitching at you, when I’m really just completely annoyed with the out of control bike industry, is that when they sell us that EF Education is now riding these bikes, they fail to mention those guys are riding these bikes for free-and they ain’t taking them home if they leave the team. I already wasn’t happy that Trek, Specialized, Cannondale, hell, Felt even, are way to comfortable taking that price tag up to 12-13k, so I’m really not going to be excited about anything that Cannondale has to offer at 15k. Not when you can buy a decked out Factor for 10, or an Aeroad for 9-and they ship it to you. No dice bruh. Like I said, love the content, usually, just can’t accept the insanity.
There are 70 other labs at Cannondale that aint shit... But 'lab 71' thats the good stuff.... Plus for £15,000 you get free bottles and cages! What a deal!
This bike looks amazing. The paintwork is sickkkkk. If people are complaining about its price, then clearly this bike isnt for them. That’s why used bikes are available. I personally wouldnt buy a bike for $15k (or even $10k), but there are people who will. Look at the SL7 in 2020. People still bought it at marked up prices.
The only way they will stop selling 15k bikes is if people stop buying them. Well, people continue to buy them. I'm still rocking my 5 yr old evo. And it runs great.
@@toweringtrio there will always be people who buy $15k bikes. Pinarello is doing pretty well selling expensive bikes. My friend bought an SL7 in 2020 for about $17k, and he only uses it for group rides lol. Point is, for some people, $15k is steep, but for some, $15k is peanuts. For them, their bike represents their status, so they’re more than willing to spend $15k on a bike. For the rest of us who just wanna ride, $15k for a bike is unreasonable.

Hubs should be the 180's, a PM should be included and the water bottles / cages are stupid. Sometimes CANNONDALE just can't get out of is't own way!

I have The Fizik Argo 00 C/F Rails C/F Body Saddle on my Trek Bike the same exact one, super stupid light, so to answer your question, No it’s not exclusive for that bike, and your right it’s a beautiful Saddle
I received the Hi-Mod version of this bike today. One thing I find confusing is the different filler spacers required for mounting the handlebars with the delta steerer stem. According to the owners guide, the pink fillers are needed for the Momo Systembar, but they're damn near impossible to fit in. I've seen other dealers use the black spacers with the Momo bar and even a few other videos on UA-cam. The black fillers fit easily - is there a danger to using the black fillers vs. the pink with the Momo bar?

I watched a carbon expert talk about parts that should not be carbon. Bottle holders was one of the parts he mentioned. He said they shatter all the time. Carbon isn’t always better.
I’ve had the same carbon bottle cages I bought off of Amazon, for years now, they have yet to shatter, or drop bottles. I’ve raced with them all over. My wife has the same carbon cages, also no issues. I saw the same video, and mostly though he was full of 💩
people are always on the internet talking about osmething they think, meanwhile there is LITERAL field data that shows how reliable carbon cages are, we sell carbon cages in our store now for over 15 years, no issues no breaking nothing, we had some crack over 5 years of use but this was from over use and also consumer negligence ripping out but even then they got there moneys worth out of it..... people can recomend things all they want, but thats like saying dont ride a carbon mountain bike on the trail cause its gonna brake
You can buy the Argo 00 saddle from other consumer sites. What are your thoughts on Shimano power meters? I hear the Dura Ace version is more miss than hit. Maybe that's why it is not included?
This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

15 grand for a bicycle, lol world is too full of suckers 😅 I can understand if one is professionally competing but if you're not it really doesn't make sense. Plus the fascination with weight is obsessive 18 lbs for a complete bike with pedals is ok for just about anyone.
I built a Steel Condor frame up, 11 speed UDI2, specified Alp wheelset, 32mm tyres, lightweight carbon finishing kit, cost me 4k, sits at just under 8kg.
240g of that is just the bottles and cage (which aren't typically included in bike weights) and God knows how much all those spacers and extra steerer tube length weigh, so it is pretty darned light, especially given how aero it is. As someone mentioned above, this bike tests as being as aero as some much heavier dedicated aero bikes, like the Cervelo S5, Scott Foil and Canyon Aeroad.
It's great seeing aero bikes becoming lighter like the Giant Propel SL. It is still heavier than an Aethos with cages, but for an aero bike, that's not too bad! The price however, is still overpriced in my opinion. But at this point, how would the System Six compare to the Lab71 Supersix Evo as the lines are becoming blurred now that the Supersix Evo is this light but still with Aero properties?
I bet you every penny that a 2015 cervelo S5 is more aero than this cannondale. And back in 2017 I had one built up to 6.4kg's for fraction of this cannondale's price.
Which is where you’d better be prepared to lose every penny that you would have bet be. This tests FASTER than the Cervelo S5 in tour mags recent aero testing. Not gonna lie though, I was equally surprised when I found out.
@@8rk The S5 is a great bike. Not for all though. Especially with that long top tube. I have a couple of friends with the newer 2022 S5 and they're great! They are definitely aero but do lack in terms of climbing.

Oh and those bottle cages suck.
I think the wheels you added on there were a big reason, those wheels to me that do come on there od not impress me
@@GCPerformance18 yeah there are a lot of places to save weight, wheels like you said, saddle, and cages are good places to start.
those rotors look awesome. are those compatible with shimano 105 calipers?
Yes they are. Any rotor works with SHIMANO SHIMANO
@@GCPerformance18 yep, I even have them on my gravel bike.
My size 58 hi mod 1 2023 came in at about 7.6kg fyi
You can buy the Argo 00 saddle from other consumer sites. What are your thoughts on Shimano power meters? I hear the Dura Ace version is more miss than hit. Maybe that's why it is not included?
have heard they are complete shit, never sold them that much though..... but thats what everyone else is saying thats why the tarmacs come with 4iii
Why EF pro team use hi mod frame but painted lab71 on it
This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box.
They are saying the the power meter of the Dura Ace is just not accurate. Why ship it....
My 2019 super six evo disc (old style frame) with zipp 303s is 7KG w/o pedals….
48 size ? is for kids ?
lmao or a womam, or a smaller size man... dont size discriminate lol
15 Grand without power meter is fing cheeky
I know right
Cannondale Love 😍
this man be loving the cannondales lol, come to the specialized side ;)
What a question.....man luckily you asked
Not all superhero wear capes
We should go back and compare the 10r Æthos to all the new “top end” bikes coming out for 15k
It's too expensive; everybody isn't rich. Does it come with an engine?
Why would you weigh it with bottles though...?
I have people asking me why I weighed it without pedals, then saying why weigh it bottles then why weigh it with cages.......
@@GCPerformance18 fair enough haha. It's just that I kinda know how many grams to add/deduct for pedals/cages . Looks like I'm going to weigh some bottles when I come home 😅
Wicked Pissah Cool Whip
when I bought my Factor Ostro bike, everything is ceramic.
Why not take the bottles out for the weight? I get everything else but bottles should never be included
No matter what I do someone will complain the way I do it. They came with the bike the bike was designed with those bottles in mind so I figured I add them
What’s the point of weighing a 1 to 7 ration model toy?😊
hahahhaha because this is the bike i have on hand, it gives the person a starting point
it is almost hot but some details dont: the wheels and the stem just be a little bit too much...
The gap between the downtube and front wheel looks kinda awkward tbh
71 for 7.1 kg?
Beautiful machine
Who rides without pedals?
here we go............
Cut the steerer and save 100 grams lol.
tres belle réalisation, sauf .................. la peinture !
quelle tristesse, vu le prix !
Stem spacer performance
Very nice bike.
It’s expensive sure, but I don’t hear the same moans and complaints about SWorks models…
I feel like you get more bang with sworks, wheels that look nicer, staggered wider, and also ceramic bearings in there, comes with a power meter, and also probably lighter in size to size and also cheaper
Still a heavy bike at that size and no pedals!
My SL7 is 6.3kgs custom build with pedals and cages
My 2011 SL3 Pro with Ultegra 6800, 2x water cages, computer and pedals is 7.3kg. These bikes are pathetic
The key there is custom build this is stock of the rack
@@choof_worm haha nothing custom about it, once the DA 7900 gruppo died rebuilt on a budget. Can still make it lighter but prefer reliability over weight
@@DavidStacey-tx7on congrats on your ugly bike old man

How many stem spacers?😂😂
The angle of that out front mount is Fred Level 1000 and it seems like you can't change it. WTF!!!
It's mounted upside down. You can verify yourself by seeing how the "Cannondale" letters on the mount are upside down. Amateur hour mechanic job. If they are not careful with placing this the correct way, I shudder to think about the rest of the mechanical job.
@@omarcastz Ok, already thought Cannondale did a monumental f... up🤣
@@Freddy3792 the real question is, who in the shop mounted and screwed it in upside down and thought "yes, this looks good". And how did GC Performance look at it and thought... "This is good to film"...
I’ll save you the watch time: its not worth it
No one is watching these videos to hear about how great a value these bikes are.
The real question is... Who did the mechanical work on this bike in such a sloppy manner to place the Garmin mount upside down? If the mechanic wasn't able to get this simple thing right i worry about how mechanically sound the bike is... And on a 15k bike no less.... Sloppy...
15 grand for a bicycle, lol world is too full of suckers 😅 I can understand if one is professionally competing but if you're not it really doesn't make sense. Plus the fascination with weight is obsessive 18 lbs for a complete bike with pedals is ok for just about anyone.
Not sure this bottle cages are made for Paris Roubaix…
hell no
I built a Steel Condor frame up, 11 speed UDI2, specified Alp wheelset, 32mm tyres, lightweight carbon finishing kit, cost me 4k, sits at just under 8kg.
Show us more tarmac’s
lightest production bike... still struggles to lift it 0:02...
hahaha I struggle to lift every bike dont let my weakness fool you
@@GCPerformance18 I feel u.
Those bottles aren't free...
Free, if you buy a 15000$ bike made in China 😂
Must be the wheels, almost 7.2kg is a crime to this frame set
240g of that is just the bottles and cage (which aren't typically included in bike weights) and God knows how much all those spacers and extra steerer tube length weigh, so it is pretty darned light, especially given how aero it is. As someone mentioned above, this bike tests as being as aero as some much heavier dedicated aero bikes, like the Cervelo S5, Scott Foil and Canyon Aeroad.
No bike is worth $15,000
Agreed. 💯
Mutton dressed as lamb
You're going to have to refinance your house to buy one. Take it to the Bay area and get it stolen from you while riding it.
Would be sub 7 without all those spacers 🤣
hahahah I was thinkg the same thing
@@slowcyclist4324 Magazine tests huh? Wow you really got me there. If magazines tested it it must be true 🤣🤣🤣
@@Nebulacore98 Do you really only look at top tube length to judge fit? And if you can't get in an aero position with any bike, why do you even care if a bike is aero or not? You do realize bike frame comes way... WAY after your body, your helmet, your socks, your wheels and your handlebar in importance when it comes to aero right?
No wonder these brands are able to charge 15k for crap that's not even as good as 20 years ago.
buy the right size for that guy pls.
bike is stock on the floor mean to be cut for the person who buys
That’s some excellent bike porn! Can’t wait for the SL8 Tarmac. Saving up. Or maybe get a bank loan ;-(
Bank loan for a BICYCLE? Guaranteed you're not producing enough watts to justify that purchase and if you do, someone would just sponsor you to ride it
@@twillyspanksyourcakes just a joke man relax
@@twillyspanksyourcakes do you always need to justify a purchase via fitness?
You could always just buy a new bike, simply because you think the bike is cool and wanted to.
@@slowcyclist4324 15-20k for a BICYCLE. Would even risk your budget by getting a loan. The cycling industry is rimming people like you and you LOVE it 😂
@@slowcyclist4324 it would have been alright if the industry is advertising these bikes as luxury bikes with that kind of price tag but theyre not. Theyre marketing them as performance bikes that are better than ever beforr which is wrong. Top price bikes today are inferior to previous models of top end racing bikes.
Of course you wont agree with me since people like you worship the bike industry marketing and take their marketing bullshit as gospel. Snake oil salesmen is what the bike industry today. Not hating just spitting facts

@@ariffau it is so nice to ride. These early tarmacs head a tall headtube that was reduced by 20mm at SL4 and remained unchanged. SL, SL2 & SL3 are great if your flexabity sucks and still get a great handling racer
No powermeter. That's ridiculous 😂
yea that shit to me is crazy
those spacers look weird
Which size 48 bikes look great? This one looks slightly off proportionately, but similar to most small sized bikes. Smaller riders do not get the love from most bike manufacturers. Oh and that abomination of a computer mount.
its for sure the stack and I do not know why all cannondale come stock with massive stocks
It's likely these bikes are made by a group of ppl who are specially trained just to eek out that 50 grams and they exclusively build this particular frame. But I doubt even this bike is close to what the real pros use.
Love the bike, nice to have something special like that. But I don't like the tacky Momo advertising on the handlebar. Turns me off.
I do like that feature that is something new and exciting just instead of a company own in house brand, I like novelty items like that to high end bikes, I think it makes them special
Should have sized up
forf some reason every supersix comes witht hat many spacers
