    When I chose to watch this video, it's specifically because it seemed like finger painting. One of my earliest memories (and one of the earliest videos of me in 1969 ... yikes) is of finger painting at the kitchen table. I now teach acrylic pouring classes at a 50+ center, and even before I clicked on the video, I thought I could do a class called "Painting On Your Inner Child". I'm excited to see how it turns out. Before I even watch, I feel like it's missing the joy of feeling the paint pour over your hand in a glorious mess. I understand gloves, but I've been painting in acrylic for most of my life and I finger paint a lot. It's a sensory thing ... but the clean up can be a bit of a hassle. That's okay, skin washes ... mostly.
    Watching now.
    First thing I noted is that you used a popsicle stick to spread the "flow extender". If this is a finger painting thing, why didn't you use your fingers?
    If you don't mind my asking, how are your paints mixed?
    I honestly didn't know how it would turn out with mixing the army green with yellow and blue, but it worked out! Made some pretty browns in places, but you know, over all (having grown up in the South), it really does capture the marsh colors. But for me, the blue would represent the sky, not the water.
    I also really like the peek-a-boo Pthalo green. I'd like to have seen a bit more of it for the contrast, but paint does what it does.
    Thanks for a great video and a great idea.

      Thank u for your comment. I chose to pour over my hand as my “finger painting” as to set myself apart from the others in the collaboration. These paints are leftovers so hey had different consistencies.

    Question??? Your paint looks very thick going into the cup. What was it mixed with

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics  6 місяців тому

      Most of the colors were mixed weeks or months ago but most are 1 part gloss medium, 3 parts paint and 4-5 parts Floetrol.

  • @truthsayer6329
    @truthsayer6329 4 місяці тому

    Total beginner here. Could you have still manipulated the paint without having to add the additional custom yellow and baby blue ones? Just looks like you poured most of these two off and why I ask. Also, how were you able to create the cells on this?

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics  4 місяці тому

      the reason you pour paint around is the paint acts as flow extender. By doing this your pour will flow over the canvas. Without it, the paints will roll over themselves. Cells happens because of different density of paints. The paints interact with each other and come to the surface creating the cells.

    • @Studio15Acrylics
      @Studio15Acrylics  6 місяців тому

      😂😂 If you've ever done something like this you know your hand print will not keep. You're covering the canvas with paint and then manipulating the paint for a final result. Also, this was a painting collaboration with my friends which gets explained. Thanks for watching and commenting.
