I’d score this about a 7. It’s very short (although some of her other albums are only a little longer in standard at like 41-45 mins). On Initial listen sonically some of it seemed to blend into the more in its feels considering the overarching homage the album references the Eternal Sunshine movie, but listening back through there are a few bit more ‘upbeat’ kinda moments apart from Yes, and.

In terms of Her Albums personally I think a lot of them are more carried by the singles, IMO the album tracks havent tended to be as memorable unless you relisten to the albums a lot for me with some exceptions Dangerous Woman (2016) is one that comes to mind for having some fan faves that couldve been singles such as Be Alright, Touch It and Greedy. I also think a bit like taylor, with some of her albums the backstory behind it has helped her eras gain a bit of identity too, especially during Sweetener (her ‘comeback’ after the Manchester incident) and then formulating Thank u next 6 months later as Mac Miller passed and she split with Pete Davidson.

Positions (Oct 2020) didnt really have as much of that iirc, although it had a few more boppier songs, some of it blended a little at the same time, then we come to this album and it definitely has a story albeit ymmv love it or hate it or you can put that to the side for the art side of things and appreciate it that way IYKWIM. That being said you’ve heard a little here a little there from most of her albums although theres still a few standouts IMO you’ve still yet to cover such as Problem, One Last Time, Into You, No Tears Left To Cry, Breathin’, thank u next, Positions… etc.

Onto the actual album at hand though. I agree with Mirror’s I liked the concept of the Yes and? video (and the homage with the set piece is to Paula Abdul’s video for ‘Cold Hearted Snake’). That intro is a BOP and Max Martin does it again, also with 2nd single we can’t be friends (which video is straightforward Eternal Sunshine movie inspired). The music t that one has that rumbly kinda EDM sound that reminds a lot of people of Robyn’s Dancing On My Own. Also songs like P!nks ‘Trustfall’, or Lorde’s ‘Supercut’. As well as Vogue, Yes, and had people reminded of Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE lead single ‘Break My Soul’ (2022) which was also house sounding and had a remix mash up done with Vogue actually iirc.
As mentioned in discord the boy is mine is homage in title only, I also picked up the wordplay of imperfect for you, and yeah that high bit at the end of the line was kinda surprising direction. I thought Supernatural had a good groove in chorus and verse, so put it #1. I am a little surprised you guys had dont wanna break up again and I wish I hated you up quite high I found them a little so-so dynamically compared to others but thats interesting. Bye and Ordinary things had a bit of a floaty feel as did some other tracks on the album. Fairly catchy R&B album. Heres my ranking:

Like nothing is proven. I just hate how everyone calls her a homewrecker, all we know is lies from the media.
