NRHS RailCamp East 2023 part1

What an amazing time this was for me. I have been trying to get to Railcamp for a few years now. We were able to do things that the public would not be able to do. This is going to be a series of videos coming out in the next few weeks. This was the first day of railcamp. We went to the Amtrak Wilmington Training Center where all the conductors, engineers, or other new trainees that go to take classes and get trained for a bunch of weeks before they are let out onto the road. In the first part of this video, we take a look inside of Amtrak ACL42 328. We get a complete tour of the cab as well as the engine compartment. After that, they take us into the cab of Amtrak GP38-3 730. We take a look at the cab, the engine compartment, and the air compressor in the back of the engine. The second part of this video is all about the simulators that are used to train all the engineers. the simulators that we used were ASC-64, GP-38, Acela and ALC-42.
