My favorite country singer! Love your voice! I love our Christmas video “Annabelle”. You are so very special. God gives us gifts like you every now and then. Thank you Randy Travis.
From a 64 year old Ohio buckeye who married a South Carolina pastor..
Here’s a tid bit not many people know.
My great grandfather wrote the words to “Life is like a mountain railroad” but sold the rights in 1938 for eye surgery.
    His name. Bernard “Barney” Brown.
You won’t find his name attached to the song but I’m thrilled to know I have Christian roots in him.

He's not only Country Western singer Loretta Lynn had bad stroke she's well in her 80s still going strong in her mind but physically her body is absolutely ravaged the clip of her trying sing when Grand Ole Opry did special birthday or anniversary for her can't remember sorry but it was utterly soul destroying I cried buckets seeing the Queen of Country music so extremely very frail apparently speech is in different area to the singing parts depending on severity of the stroke or other brain trauma or what side of brain is damaged but those rendered mute due to condition called Aphasia which I have it due to smashing back of my head of floor during one of my very violent idiopathic seizures that I frequently take scans didn't pick anything as I didn't go to hospital immediately as I can't stand the nasty negative attitude I get from medical staff and others treated as delayed very severe concussion which again over past 30years like the other injuries I get I've had various severities of concussion and sprains etc the brain is complex very very misunderstood and secretive organ it doesn't like being knocked about.
Another singer is Judith Durham she also had stroke on or just before her 70th birthday spent months rehabilitation relearning to sing, write music etc but struggles very badly having chronic lung conditions won't help her its such shame to see all fabulous greatest singers who would seriously put the fake so called singers of today to real shame who can't sing to save themselves as for way they behave, dress and language etc its absolutely atrocious and disgusting. Another strange ability stroke survivers have is art some have already been artists before the trauma but others have no art skills in there body yet all off sudden there painting as if its going out fashion isn't human body marvelous complex life support system all chatting away unnoticed well almost keeping us alive the human body has always fascinated me from very early age to heart having its own electrical system to one lung being one lobe short at bottom so heart has room to beat away ferociously pump liters blood every minuet to 30ft of twirly guts large is shorter than small intestine etc Professor Robert Winston did documentary serious in very very late 90s on all subjects of human body including brain trauma sure its on UA-cam if that's kind thing check it out

Actually Loretta walked on to the stage and off and stood there for quite a long time. And even though she said she wasn't gonna sing she grabbed the mike from her sister crystal gayle. I found it joyous. And she actually seems to be doing much better since then.

Randy Travis is responsible for bringing me to Country Music. I listened to POP Country in the 70's and early 80's like Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton and Alabama but I didn't "embrace" it. It wasn't until I took a trip with my Grandparents to Michigan that I really listened to Randy as my Grandparents had 3 cassette tapes of his and played them over and over during our 4 hr trip. I was 17 then and that trip, plus Randy's voice struck a chord in me. After that I listened to Dan Seals and Shenandoah. That was it. It was like being brought to the Promised Land. Thank You Randy, you have no idea what you mean to us. It's a love that is "Deeper Than The Holler," "Forever and Ever, Amen".

Randy immortalized the year I was born. I remember as a child getting up late at night, after everyone else had gone to bed, & sneaking into the living room to watch the lone ranger & the country music videos that would play just before the station went off the air. "Forever & Ever, Amen" was one of the videos I remember most.

I've never had a book keep my attention the way Forever and ever Amen did. The down to earth simplicity of it, the ability to comprehend his decisions and why. I totally enjoyed reading it.
Like his music & his ability to make you feel & relate to his songs, he gives this same affect in his book.
His descriptions of emotions, meeting his idols, his frustrations of being too country, his success, to his slipping, to his fall of illness & his determination to fight back.
AND equally important, not forgotten & truly admired by myself and many, the point of light in Randys darkness, Mary - a blessed and devoted soul she is.
Hanging on when others said let go. Thank you from so many fans -
If you do not have the book, you are missing a treasure of a lifetime.

Randy still has a lot to offer Country Music!!!!! One, he still knows a good song when he hears it. I really believe he would make a great producer. He has the ability to groom a artist in their career. I'm sure he could still co write songs.

I am a brain injury survivor too. I am so happy that Mr Travis has come back as far as he has. It's a long road but if you have a great support system anything is possible. My injury happened almost 22 years ago. The power of Prayer is limitless. To God be the Glory.
