Two things. First if you looked at the all 22 of Broderick Jones. While you are right Jones is in an out. Jones did not know his blocking assignment on a few run plays. He also looked like he was loafing on plays. Then throw in his poor pass blocking. Jones is a disaster. I hope Cook comes back or one of the new tackles can play soon. Second the game plan with Tomlin never changes. Smith will be ordered to run. Harris up the middle. Pickens is checked out on the team. They will not open up the passing with Fields at quarterback. Tomlin lives in his fears.
This, much like many other Tomlin teams are very average. Defense has players, but tend to falter as the year goes on. The O struggles because of a porous line and only one playmaker who gets the ball 3 times a game. 8-9 or 9-8. Very typical

The Steelers will make a big mistake pulling Justin Fields out the game just to see what Russell have in the tank. Now, what if Russell doesn’t pan out as good. Then you put Justin Fields back in then he lights up every game with yardage and touchdowns. Then once the season is over with Justin Fields Go signs with another team with a big contract and not sign back with the Steelers because they didn’t believe in him and now we back to square one again, ….You have to be careful how you play your cards in this league, especially an older quarterback versus a young one I will go with the young potential on

The problem was the OLine his last 2 or 3 seasons, and he still got them into the postseason. Ben was not even close to the same "adlib, scramble, backyard" type football he played early in his career but he still overcame and played the game differently. Give Ben a clean pocket like Brady always had and he throw for 4000 yards today. It was never Ben. It was other issues and it's crazy that ppl think the way they think*
