Aja's last name is actually pronounced as AHA with a thick H. What an amazing wonderful run this was, his artwork was just gorgeous and the stories had heart and lots of humor. A gem to behold (finally)
As always superb review!
Really looking forward for your review on a WW by G. Perez Omnibus.
And do you have green lantern by geoff johns omnibuses?
Very nice review. Having just finished up reading Understanding Comics last month David Ada sounds very interesting indeed. I will have to give into Goodreads incessant recommending of this series and actually read it.
Really cool dust jacket
Hollingsworth is the best colorist in the business. The coloring in this Run is really underrated. I enjoyed this run a bunch more than you did, the art really appeals to me as does Clint’s character arc. I loved it all.
Wow that is interesting, I thought people preferred Clint's story to Kate's. I like your differing opinion.
Really enjoy all your reviews, keep up the great work!
+William Lee Yeah I think that probably is the popular opinion. Most people would see the Kate issues as a side story to Clint's stuff, I just found their subject matter to be more entertaining. Clint's slide in depression and self destruction ran thin for me, got old pretty quick watching him mope around. But damn I love that Aja art on those issues!
Really want to get that tbh
i think i will buy the 2 oversized hardcover, they go for 50$ or even less in amazon, the second one came out today i think, but i will totally get them, i loved the series, waiting 3 months for the last issue was a trajmatic experience to say the least, and i will pick up the immortal iron fist since you kinda recommended that, anyways awesome review, thank you, i was on the wall about which version to buy.
+Hugo A. Cuenca R. i agree ,i already have vol.1 so i'll just get vol.2. i do like the content,art,story etc.
Buena reseña del cómic. Podréis encontrar otro punto de vista de este cómic en mi canal.
you call that an omnibus LOL it seem's like a regular Hardcover to charge more than $50 cover price for that is rediculous
Does the omnibus include the creator credits/recap pages from the trade backs? Those were pretty fun.
+sipinii As far as I can tell, no. I didn't have the trades but it doesn't look like there are any extras or anything and each issue just starts without a recap.
i agree with your assessment of the book. i have vol. 1 so i will just get vol.2 vs. the omnibus. not the best book but certainly not the worst either.
Can you review the Punisher MAX omnibus? I really liked your Alias review and want to know if Punisher MAX is worth it as well
I'll make it my next read
+Nerdventures Thanks!
What do the pages smell like upon first sniff?
+BATMAN LOVER3684 justice?
Marvel is really pushing it with those prices.
+Joakim Comic Center I agree man. That's what has kept me from buying this. The Green Arrow by jeff lemire is almost the same amount of content(but on bigger pages as well) and is half the price.
Im really considering buying this book. But by comparison, the green arrow by jeff lemire is actually larger and almost half the price. I don't know that's my real beef with marvel, the price.
+Derek Green Yeah, Marvel prices are high. I leep buying them though, so I guess I'm part of the problem :)
I buy them as well, when I looked closer though the 2 HC's are cheaper actually
Ugh, I'm so torn on this. It's getting such mixed reviews from everyone that I'm not sure I can justify that price...but that art though...
+NerdHow but that art though!
I'd love to hear your review of Planetary. I'm on the fence about it.
+A Amir It'll be here eventually, I probably need to read it again before I give it a review!
the J in Aja is pronounced more like a H
+spencer o'keeffe TAKEEEEEE ONNNNNN MEEEEEEEEEEE
Immortal Iron Fist is so much better than Hawkeye. Everything I've read from Fraction starts well and ends crap so I think the addition of Brubaker helping on Iron Fist must be the reason why it stays together all the way. Same quality art and an even better story.
+Dayle Clarke I agree, Iron Fist is much better. And I think you are right, Fraction is a great character writer but his big picture stuff falls apart completely. Brubaker is a great counterpoint for that!
This also represents the downfall of quality omnibuses. Worse paper, less than half the number of pages, same ridiculous price.
This costs £50+ in England, the Lemire Green Arrow deluxe is slightly shorter and cost £18 and DC aren't great on price compared to Image or the mighty Dark Horse.
+Dayle Clarke I think DC is one of the best when it comes to price and qualtiy
+Derek Green DC are definitely a lot better than Marvel but Dark Horse are easily the best and quite a bit cheaper. They just don't have as much material compared to DC or Marvel unfortunately
Yes they put out some high quality stuff. And do better at keeping things in print. I like some marvel stuff. But most of the things I want are out of print and what is still in print is expensive.
