You don't seem to care about RW/LW positions too much; is that true that if you need a center, it's better (in-game) to have a decent RW playing there rather than a mediocre C?
The coach is in complete control of the lines in this save file, so it's not so much that I don't care as opposed to the AI coach doing AI things haha. It is definitely a good idea to keep players in their strongest positions when possible, and I try to keep an equal amount of players at each position for the coach to work with. Sometimes a mediocre C, let's say at a 2 star ability, could end up being a better fit in a 3rd/4th line center role than a 2.5 or 3 star ability winger in that same position depending on line chemistry, player roles, system fit, individual attributes, etc. That being said, I do occasionally experiment with wingers that have good faceoff ratings (or good defensive ratings in general) and put them at C whenever I'm the GM/Head coach, especially if their center position rating is already pretty good/the team is struggling/the team is lacking quality centers. So it's mostly a case-by-case basis, and is largely based on experimentation to see what works/what doesn't based on player grades and stats, team success, etc. Sorry for the wall of text, but the point was that it's all situational lol
@@WWSYGM Oh that's fine, I'm old and I like walls :) I see your point. In the video, you casually left 6 RWs in the main roster so I started wondering. I also vaguely remember long time ago someone said (not sure anymore who; maybe one of the big Russians, perhaps Larionov?) that a good center can always make up for a winger, but the opposite is not true. Of course, it's unlikely to be represented in the game just like that, but I'm curious about your experience.

Did you make the Utah Yetis team yourself?
Yup, I created the team in-game to replace the old Coyotes
