    I like the idea, can you add a little bit of history, like when the price tag explode and why.
    For exemple, bazaar of Bagdad was not played when it was printed, and was cheap, his price tag have strongly change with dredge.
    Tabernacle has always been a played card, so his price has always been high.
    I understand that may be subjective.
    Thanks again for your videos.

    This is a video I stumbled on recently and I was shocked what was on the list. I got into the game pre alpha and stayed for only a few years but got into it again recently after finding my old binder full of near mint or mint as I sleeve or store cards strait from opening and looking over it I have several cards that seem to be worth a lot. Including about a dozen copies of Gaea's Cradle I thought was a neat land back in my teenager days.
    This is pretty damn cool, thanks for the epic video you just made my day!

    This type of top 10 was interesting. Unlike the usual ones the discussion surrounding each card was more widely ranged. Not only did you discuss tournament results but also edh play and the specific history surrounding each version to explain the prices. Overall enjoyed this type of top 10 and look forward to seeing some more of these

    Having watched countless previous iterations of this series of yours, I can tell you that I found this take on it also entertaining. I think that coupling the card prices with the stories of the cards themselves, why they are so expensive, how they were made, and what decks they were in really makes this enjoyable for me. It's also important to keep a longstanding series fresh, and I support this take on it.

    I like the idea of prices of certain types of cards, but not as much specific printings. Cards with the highest minimum value would be more interesting to me personally, mentioning an especially expensive printing would be neat but not as much as a card where even the cheapest version is still significantly expensive.
    Expensive printings of cheaper cards could easily be its own series though

    • @Arvaniz
      @Arvaniz 2 роки тому +2

      This it what I came to say. It should be most expensive minimum price. No one plays with Arabian Nights City of Brass, having so many cheaper options.
      But Duals, the Tabernacle, and Gaea's Cradle... that's another story.
      The video itself could be a commentary on scarcity, lack of meaningful reprints, and the Reserved List.

    When it comes to cards from Arabian Nights, Antiquities and Legends, I strongly believe that the value is largely linked to the scarcity of their original printing, especially in excellent or near mint conditions, but I don't think that the RL has as much of an impact on them as many people believe. Examples such as ARN City of Brass or ATQ four season of Mishra's Factory, cards that have been later reprinted to the ground and whose newest versions are worth pennies, would appear to suggest so.
    Different story for cards of the Urza block and that era with larger print-runs, or with the (admittedly ugly looking) Revised Duals, which I am convincent would see significant drop in value were they ever reprinted in a signifcant manner.

    • @kurtilein3
      @kurtilein3 2 роки тому

      The thing is, it is already priced in. What would Birds of Paradise or City of Brass be worth without reprints? It is priced in that some have been reprinted a lot and others have not. If Mishras Workshop had been printed into the ground and strip mine would only exist in antiquities, their prices would be flipped around.

    • @airtempest8945
      @airtempest8945 2 роки тому +1

      Oh, it's certain that the scarcity of the original printing is a major factor, but the inability to reprint is also one as well.
      The scarcity of original print run affects cards which only had one printing because the supply is the same for a higher demand, since both collectors AND players want them.
      If they have a reprint, only the collectors really want the most expensive version, where as the players will take what they can get.

    Great concept! I'm just at the start, but my bet is 100% on Bazaar of Baghdad being #1. Having owned 2 back-in-the-day when I only had to pay $125 for each, they've gone completely haywire in price since 2005.
    Edit: Bazaar is #4??? Wow, Nizzahon, you truly have my undivided attention (after I type this) at what is at the top of the list, but given it includes special versions, I am curious to if there's any regular versions higher in the list.

    The "Judge's Foil" Gaea's Cradle actually wasn't only given to judges. During the "Player Rewards" program, WotC would send a DCI player premium cards in the mail based on the number of tournaments they played in (a minor card for the first tournament, a major card after 10, if I remember correctly). Often, these would be foil versions of cards not available otherwise (Wasteland, as an example). The "Judge's foil" Gaea's Cradle was sent out as part of this program. I can attest to this, as that is how I got mine. Per my understanding, WotC ran out of the cards they intended to send out and simply substituted extras they had of these. It wasn't an insignificant number, either. Many people who stated they have this card said they got it in the mail and were not a judge.

    I like this, but I'm torn on how it's being done. To me (my opinion), it makes more sense to base this only the *cheapest tournament legal* versions of each card. I feel this falls more in line with previous MTGT10 videos, which focused on the playability of cards. Multivault is a prime example. Anyone can get the card comparatively cheaply; they just need to ignore the ~100 oddball exceptions. Still, it's a fresh idea and I'm down for it. Great content as always, Nizzahon!

    The Reserve List included non tournament legal versions of the cards. Wizards, in part, violated the Reserve List.

    Awesome, but really want to see the price for cheapest version for every member.
    Or even do the opposite, compare not the most expensive, but the cheapest prices. It might be even cooler.

    I was really hoping you would get around to price points. One of the ideas I have been wanting to pitch to you is in your deck history videos, could you price out the decks so that I don't get Psyched out on a particular archetype only to find out that it is a $750 Modern decklist?
