I just used a knife blade to gently scrape in the charging port and then scrubbed it with 91% isopropyl alcohol (regular alcohol from Walmart) on a toothbrush. Solved the problem. I'll edit this if the problem returns.
I cut long strips of folded card stock paper. Gently insert on the outer side of charging port. Removes black grime. Use more strips till it comes clean. The flex of paper insures that it wont damage port further. [My port grime was from using a case that lets dirt, dust, lint, and sawdust (and sometimes moisture) gradually accumulate around the ports.]
Changed the charging port, Changed the big strip of a connecting cable, replaced battery. But, phone still doesn't charge. Motherboard seems expensive to replace. Any other suggestions please..?

Ty for this! My husband's charging cord does the same...I wonder if it's a defect as his is an A51 also.

do you have to get the exact model phone board or will any model board work as long as it is for the a51?
