hello guys! It's been a while but I just posted another tutorial! Hope you enjoy!
ua-cam.com/video/xJgn1YrupcU/v-deo.html
I love this. So many people skip too much steps or explain things with too much detail, but your video was right in the middle; explaining everything we need, not taking hours to give details, and making everything clear. Thank you soooo much
I absolutely can assert that in order to find perfect pattern i've watched about 50 videos in youtube and tiktok (since i'm quite demanding and picky person). So i can surely say that your pattern is the best, it's simple and accurate at the same time. I almost done one in small size and planning to do bigger one like yours. Thanks a lot 💞💖💫
hi levi, can I see your result, please?
@@qeq9824 of course i can, but how¿

@@sunnny1 hi,just a question. How many squares did you do for the length of the handle, sides and base togheter?
I used a thicker yarn and it’s made my bag really Sturdy your pattern is really easy to follow thank you x
hey ik it was a long time ago but can you tell me how much thicker yarn did you use also how much yarn was used
10/10 tutorial best one i've found, the pattern is easy to make bigger or smaller and it's pretty forgiving when you make mistakes. Did this as my first crochet project and turned it out really nice!
Ok I doubt anyone will see this but I just made a really cute granny square bag, does anyone want a tutorial on that next?
YESS PLEASE this tutorial for checkered bag was the best i could find THANK YOU
YES!! 🥰🥰🥰
yeess omg!!
Yes pleaseeee 😩😩😩
yes please! :)
you almost lost me at the “ now make another one “ 💀💀😭✋🏼

what colors are u doing??
@@abraxas9964 oh yesss that sounds so cute!! I'm probably gonna make another checkered one but rn I'm doing brown, beige and cream gingham :p
@@abraxas9964 😁
literally, my jaw dropped when i saw the make another 1
10 months late but I’m quite bored so I’ll clear up some frequently asked questions in the comments
The size of the crochet hook I used was 3mm (you can use bigger but I won’t recommend because according to some people the bag will be HUGE)
I used 150 grams of yarn for both colors
60% cotton and 40% acrylic yard (I don’t recommend soft yarn)
the main part it’s 56 chains x 26 rows (not counting the handle part) and the side parts should be 12 chains x 65 rows.
the length of the main parts are around 39 cm (including handle) and the width is around 36 cm
The width of the long part is 6 cm and the length is around 155 cm
Hope this helped!! (If anyone is still even watching the video)
I have been following this tutorial and working on this bag for about three days now, so thank you for clearing this up!
hellooo! i’d love to make this bag since the shape is perfect for me, but the size is a bit big. how could i make the bag a bit smaller? does it have to be multiples of 4? im sorry im a bit new to crocheting but i’d love to make your bag! its a great pattern, thanks for sharing itt :)
what weight is the yarn?
@@rainnnnn28 it says 150 grams for both colors
@@sarah.m29 you can make it 3dc per square or lessen the squares:)) i lessened mines since i used chunky yarn so it wont be too big:))
used a 4.5 mm hook and made the bag 56 chains x 36 rows and my bag turned out way too big, but it's still really cute ! fits my laptop and all my books :))
I’ve already made two bags using your tutorial thank u pim
How many yarns did u use in 1 bag?
@@leslieanngrava7032 i used 6 50 gram yarns 3 each colour
honestly one of the best, if not the best tutorial 4 making this bag
I finished it after like 3 weeks(im really slow at crocheting) and it came out great!
hi hi hi pls help me:(
I started doing it and I already have an immense doubt; When starting to make the second row and taking the chain below, take the 2 threads (go through a circle) or only take one (the one in front)?
to try to be more precise, do you take a single thread just like the first row was made?
your channel is so calming i luv it!!
thank youu💘☀️
thank you! this is so helpful! also quick tip: while you crochet the checkers, if you crochet the opposite color into the color that you are currently making double crochets of, you won't have to cut the yarn constantly because it's hidden inside the stitches and you can just do that without a bunch of little yarn scraps that you have to tuck in at the end. Sorry, confusing explanation, but i hope this helps!!
i was trying to figure out how to do that but i couldn't do it😭😭 i didn't keep cutting it though i just pulled it along but the back looks pretty wonky
if you’re making a bag, then it shouldn’t really matter that much-just make the wonky part the inside of the bag so no one can see it. hope this helps!!
Thank you so much for this, I haven’t made it yet but I was following another tutorial and I was having a really hard time with the amount of ends I had to tie and it was taking me way longer than it should have, I really appreciate this tutorial and I will subscribe to your channel!! 💕💕
i watched several other videos and never understand how the other yarn keep following.. now makes sense.. thank you
can you please make another video on how you did the sides/base/handle because you skipped the steps or didn't show it, and i am unable to follow along and just have the outer pieces.
sameeee i watched thst part like 10 times and i still cant get it
so basically you want to chain 12 +2 (14) and start crocheting the same way you did the outer pieces so that you only have three squares in a row. you are going to want to make this piece super long (she did 65 squares, i would recommend doing the same) so it can wrap around the whole project and also be used as a handle. once you finish this piece, you are going to sew it to the outside pieces (it's easier to do it one at a time). the best way to do it is to start at the top corner, go all the way down the side and under the bottom, and up the other side. once you have it attached like that (to both pieces), the piece leftover that's still flopping around is going to be used as the handle, so you just want to sew the end of that to the beginning of the same piece. basically so its in one big circle but also sewn to the bag. once you do that, flip it inside out, weave in your ends, and you have a bag!
sorry that was super long and also a week after you asked, but i hope it helped someone!
@@SophieHartstein It did!! It helped me a lot! Thank you so much for explaining it so well, appreciate it!!
@@SophieHartstein thank you
@@SophieHartstein hi! so for the sew part, did she mean actually using a sewing machine? huhu that's the part i cant get. thank you!
I made a couple of these a few months ago and it turned out so pretty! This video was so easy to follow and I'm gonna make more
Can you pls tell me how did you sew the handle with the bag?
I'm Brazilian, I love bags in this style and I loved your video, very explanatory. (I can understand the subtitles with my VERY half-assed English😭) ❤
thanks for the great tut, my bag turned out great! i was a bit nervous at first it would be kinda floppy like the comments i read were saying but it turned out really sturdy actually!! it may be the yarn i used (100% acrylic since i figured the bag wont have to be washed more than once or twice in its lifespan) but still, i love it so much, thank you again!!
hiii can you maybe explain the details on how to make the handles/base 😭 i didn’t really get that partt
oh yea for sure! what exactly were you confused about? just so i can give a better description lol
Wait can you help me? I’m confused too. Is the base/handle all one thing or do I have to make multiple(like one for one side of the bag and another and THEN make a separate handle with the same dimensions
yep! all one big thing, pretty much just add all the squares together in her instructions for a total of 3 by 65-70 squares (130-140 rows) depending how long u want your handle to be lmk if you need anything else explained, I'm always happy to help :)
Thank u so much! The bag turns out really cute! I crocheted it for my bestie actually.. but my mom loves it so much so i gave it to her! will make another one hihi
Ahh so glad you liked it
hie, what size yarn and hook did u use ?
Just made this in my school colors (purple and yellow) and it is so cute!
I made a checkered bag but a different pattern and I wanted to make one like the one you made your tutorial is very helpful😊 can’t wait to make one when I get more yarn
I just finished making this today and it turned out so pretty! Thank u so much for this tutorial :)
thank you for this pattern! can i ask what size hook you used?
This is the only tutorial on this bag that l actually understand hahaha Thank you
If you start the second side with the opposite colour that you started the first side with then there isn’t any double colours hope this helps!!

how did it go
@@suhay1a I ran out of white thread :(( I just have to finish the base and I already went on vacation so I can go buy more yarn. But the bag it's too easy!
Hi pim, im currently making my own in bag using this pattern in pink & ivory yarn, but i want to ask how long/big the finished bag was at the end since i dont want mine to be too big😅 im planning to use this as an every day bag but i dont really bring too much stuff so i dont really want it to be too much of a hassle to carry around you see😅 but i love your all pattern! They are so easy to follow and very begginer friendly💗💗
the best tutorial i've ever seen!!
hi so i’m making this bag, and it’s really beautiful, i love the tutorial. but i was just wondering, how do you sew the base/sides/handle to the main part. i don’t know if you said it anywhere in the video but i’m a little confused because idk if i sew it together or crochet it together. thank you so much for the tutorial
u can do them all i mean if u wanna sew them do it and if u wanna crochet them do it but it ll have a better look if u could crochet them together and its bc it ll look like a whole single piece and if u want how u could just make a sc (single crochet) betwn the two pieces that u wanna crochet together and thats it 💅 (👁👄👁)
@@HindSalam-fk3rv thank you so muchhhh 🫶🫶
i just finished making this!! its SO cute!! thank you sm
I loved this a lot and I'm working on it. Thank you for your efforts😌💗
A little note that could be useful! 🧶✨️ If you don't want the checkered pattern to line up in the bottom of the bag, you can make two rows of the same color on the corners, so it matches the 2 sides on the last square in each corner, so instead of being, for example, white black white, black white black, it would be, white black white, white black white, it's subtle and it keeps the checkered pattern! 🏁✨️ Hope this helps! 🤗 (Sorry if I didn't make myself undestood 😅, I'm bad at explaining and to top it all, english is not my first language ☠️)
yo i just made this bag and it looks so cool! thank you
i see that 70s show in the background hahaha thats exactly what i watch when i crochet

Thank you so much! I made a wonderful bag thanks to you
this is a great pattern! but at 8:39 when i do the side curvy parts for the other end of the bag, when turning to reduce one square the white yarn that is pulled from skipping the stiches can be seen on the front :-( basically the two ends flipped
i am also having the same problem. i tried crocheting using my left hand but i gave up because idk how to do it right. i just let the two ends flipped :((
hi so dont know if this still helps but i think what she meant was that, one row reduce, one normal row, one row reduce and so forth
ur the absolute best this is the only tutorial that made sense LMAO
Thank you for the tutorial! I just finished making mine. 💖💖
at 7:11 i lost everything lol but amazing tutorial and im trying to this bag, i hope i can do a great job!

I hope you can see my comment, but I've got a question, for the side/base/handle part, do you just do one long strap of (36+14+15), and then sew it on to the main piece? Also, do you crochet the side with single crochet afterwards? Would appreciate a reply, thank you !!
i've been following this tutorial for a few weeks and i love it but i'm just confused on how to sew the pieces together? is there anyway you can help?

i’m kinda confused about how many rows long the piece should be that’s supposed to be the bottom sides and handle

hi! i'm currently in the process of making this bag! the big pieces are great so far but for the sides base and handle, there isn't that much footage so i'm getting a little stuck. could you maybe be able to quickly explain how to do that
It’s basically one really long piece (130 rows)

i really need some help stitching the handle/base/sides to the main piece. ive watched countless videos and cant seem to get it 😭
amazing tutorial! just made the bag and love it
It turned out amazing, thank you so much
I just finished both peaces and I am so beyond confused on what I‘m supposed to do at „skipped a few steps“
I’m in the same boat 😭😭
Okay i think i figured it out! So you chain 12 + 2 for turning and then continue crocheting so you will get 3 squares in each row. Then keep going until you have around 60 rows of squares or the length that you want. This piece should cover the bottom, sides, and the handle. Still figuring out the attaching part tho!
how did you do the handles? I had a hard time with that
what is the expression of the line you used? That's so beautiful omgg
HOW DO YOU NOT HAVE MORE FOLLOWERS 😫
Hii quick question: do you make the sides, base and handle separately and then sow them together or is it one long piece? :)
Ik this was 3 months ago, but for anyone else seeing this it is all one piece
@@Mothalas THANK YOU!!
How many did u guys made for the largue one, i mean how many squares largue
Hello awesome video but I’m a little confused how you stitched the first part together
Hi there! I love your tutorial!! This bag is so cute and the tutorial is soooo helpful. I was wondering what the measurement was for just one of the sides? I followed everything but I’m new to crochet and I think I messed something up bc I somehow have 17 squares across instead of 14 and I feel like it’s going to be too big so I can’t tell if I should start over or not! But I was thinking if the measurement is the same as yours, then it might be fine and I just accidentally added too many squares somehow.
I literally started this 4 months ago but I’m determined to finish it this week… maybe 🙃
AHHH thank u so much!! I’m definitely gonna try this
I made already three of them! Thank you so much for this amazing tutorial!❤
7:35 i don’t understand this bit at all
EDIT: I DID IT
May you tell me how did you make the handel part
And how did you sew it with the bag?
this is so cool like wth i luv ittt
Aww thank you !!
I LOVE THAT 70S SHOW
I WANTED TO CRY WHEN I SAW “Now make another one"😭
Thanks for the tutorial.I would love to try it.💓
how many grams of yarn did you use in total? and when i change from black to white, there is always a black thread in the white square and a white thread in the black square, its like crossing each other. love your video btw, it's really easy to follow for beginners like me
Yeah I found the same thing, I just tried to keep the lines of thread when I was changing color on one side of the project. So that the inside would be the side with the lines if that makes any sense
And the balls of yarn he used look about 100g each, multiply that by 6 I’d say roughly 600g of yarn in total. So 300g of each color, but I’d recommend getting an extra ball of yarn to be safe
@@el_barjak8550 I think each skein of the video were like 50g (or less) So 100gr/150gr for color
this worked for me the second time around, but you should pull the other colour string when you're about to switch, so that it tightens the previous four stitches in the other colour and makes the color that crosses it invisible!
Actualization: 150g of each color weren't enough! Maybe it was my different yarn tensions and hooks (Since I changed them a lot through the process) but anyways, I would highly recommend 200g of each color!
Omg I'm so exited to make this! Does anyone know what kind of yarn would be best for the bag?
HOW TO SEW IN TOGETHER? THIS AINT A BEGINNER FRIENDLY TUTORIAL. YOU SKIP WAY TOO MANY STEPS. NOT RECOMMENDED
yes :( unfortunately she skipped a lot of steps and i dont know how to do the sides.. so everything ive done until now was useless
@@sozant have you guys figured it out?
slip stitch them together
i was trying to make this as a first crochet project but i'm still at like the 2nd step. when i'm alternating colors the yarn of the other color stays behind and whe i switch back there' a line of yarn on the back side and i don't know how to fix this! she says to "pull the lighter yarn along" but doesnt go into details
Amazing! Love crochet!
im so confused as to why the handle sewn into the main piece part was completely skipped...
So how do you make the sides bottom and handle??
Wait it’s kind of confusing for me on how to make the base/handle/sides, how do I actually make it? The measurements are kind of confusing to me.
Width = 12 stitches
Length = 130 rows

Just picked up the yarn to make it and going well rn, sending get wells to your back as well! 😂
Hi, just curious, i thought for dc, the turning chain should be 3? why did you just do 2? i’m curious about the difference. Thanks in advance!
hii!! just thought I would help answer this instead! Actually, you could do whichever you prefer! Whether you chain 2 or chain 3, the outcome would still be the same! I personally even do chain 1 just for a sharper side! so don't worry too much if certain videos suggest chain 2 or chain 3!
hi, sorry i dont understand at the base/handle/sides part. what do you mean by 18x2 squares for length? and do i need to make the base/handle/sides by part or i just can continue crochet without need to cut the yarn? im sorry if my question is confusing😅
